Child Welfare Fund
« on: October 09, 2018, 09:25:47 PM »

The Child Welfare fund is a non government organisation (NGO) established by Renee Azurewind in June 2018, it aims to support and protect children in danger or under threat particularly in relation to safe drinking water, food, access to healthcare, access to an education and any other assistance they could need. In terms of protection the organisation concerns itself with child abuse (of all kinds), trafficking, child labour and other aspects. The organisation is located at Beacon House, Valtheim and is run on a day to day basis by Managing Director Timothy Willows. There are no special conditions for membership, in fact this isn't about members this is about partners in trying to achieve the organisations goals.

The Child Welfare Fund operates on the basis that a child is anyone under 18 years of age. Except in cases where the Uppsalla Convention must be deferred to. And it is not the policy of this organisation to break families up.

The Programs

As part of its operating practice to achieve its goals the Child Welfare Fund operates the following programs:

1. The provision of safe accommodation for children through the establishing of 'Sanctuary centres', these will be operated by organisation staff and shall function to provide a safe social and living space for those who need it, a clinic for health and dental needs, some basic life skills and other lessons where required.

2. Increasing awareness of child abuse and child trafficking through a public education initiative on the warning signs of such things, what to look for and what to do if something is suspected.

3. Establishing partnerships with schools, universities and businesses to create opportunities for children to learn a trade or gain qualifications.

4. A university of Artaxia sponsored teaching program to train potential volunteers and organisation staff, it is hoped that other education institutions will get involved with this program.

5. The devising of a continually evolving education program and material that can be used in the field by aid workers when required.

6. The founding of a Mundus Children's Day (otherwise known as Kid's Day) to be an annual event each year with material for each years event to be provided to those wishing to be involved.

How to get involved

We are looking for ambassadors for the organisation to help raise awareness of the issues outlined above and what we intend to do about them (OOC- if submitting for this please give character bio links so vetting can be done appropriately). Alternatively provide funding or find other ways to get involved.
