Now for something completely different.

I have long found myself wondering how others pronounce the names of their nations.  Since we don't generally have audio of the names unique to Mundus being spoken aloud, I feel that a formal pronunciation guide is in order.  Accordingly, I have created this thread with the idea that we can all contribute with how we pronounce the names we use, both on a national level and on more local ones.  These can be taken as the generally accepted pronunciations of these words as spoken by locals.  Bonus points if pronunciation is different between English and whatever language is dominant in the country.

I shall begin.


All pronunciations are in English unless otherwise noted.

Tytor: TIE-tore
Tytorian: tie-TORE-ee-un
Tytoric: tie-TORE-ick
Tsargrad: ZAR-grad (rhymes with "dad")
Williamshaven: WILL-ee-ums-hay-vin
Tarrenburg: TARE-in-burg
Aquilae: AH-kwi-lay
Decapolis: dih-KAP-uh-lis (alternatively day-KAP-uh-lis)

Ubakasa: oo-buh-KAH-suh
Ubakasan: oo-buh-KAH-sun
Kalabuto: kal-uh-BOO-toe
Mwangi: MWAHN-gee
Mauxi: MAUK-see (first vowel-sound rhymes with "how")

Centralia: sin-TRAIL-ee-uh (rhymes with "Australia")
Centralian: sin-TRAIL-ee-un
Mazeltovia: mazz-ul-TOVE-yuh

Rokkenjima: Rouk-en-gee-ma

Pyrettania: Pie-rhe-tan-ea

Admiral Taiwanpenguin:
SICR:Same as you would pronounce it regularly, Seh-cund Emper-ee-ahl chih-nee-s Ree-pub-lick
Dragonaii: Dra-gun-ai
Dragoni: Dra-go-nee
Nanjing: Nan-Jeen
Hualu: Hu-wa-Loo

Heisen-Dumingjia: High-sen Do-meen-jiya
Altreich: Ahlt-rie-ck
Eltenbacht: El-ten-bau-ckt
