Recognising that Hygelac and Hrothgar remain one of the last unspoiled wildernesses of Mundus and are therefore deserving of protection.

Aware that there is still much we can learn from these regions.

Hopeful that nations can co-operate to establish safe non-destructive research projects in the region.

Concerned that nations have begun eyeing the regions for military purposes

The nations which have signed this treaty agree as follows:

1. Hrothgar and Hygelac are to be considered special wilderness areas, deserving of protection. They shall be defined as beginning 200nm from their coast is accordance with the Fair Seas Concordt.

2. These regions shall be used for peaceful purposes only. There shall be prohibited, inter alia, any measure of a military nature, such as the establishment of military bases and fortifications, the carrying out of military manoeuvres and training, as well as the testing of any type of weapon. The present Treaty shall not prevent the use of military personnel or equipment for scientific research or for any other peaceful purpose.

3. In order to promote co-operation in research the Contracting Parties agree that, to the greatest extent feasible and practicable:
a) information regarding plans for scientific programs in either region shall be exchanged to permit maximum economy of and efficiency of operations;
b) scientific personnel shall be exchanged in the regions between expeditions and stations;
c) scientific observations and results from the regions shall be exchanged and made freely available.

4. No nation shall be permitted to claim territory in either region as their own sovereign territory.

5. Both regions shall be designated a "No Contamination" zone meaning that all material must be removable from the region at cessation of activity, this shall include any research stations.

6. In order to ensure safety of research nations shall be permitted to claim up to four 10sq km Scientific Zones in each region, these zones must have a coast line. Within each zone a nation has the following rights and responsibilities.

a) Ensuring compliance with Article 5.
b) Taking a lead in scientific research.
c) Maintaining a record of all people present within their zone.
d) Ensuring the safety of all people within the zone
e) Protection of flora and fauna

7. Any radiological explosions or the disposal of radioactive material is prohibited.

8. No activities for resource extraction may be undertaken.

9. In order to ensure compliance with this treaty each nation shall nominate a team of five inspectors, these inspectors may visit any Scientific Zone giving 48 hours notice. Inspectors may carry out the following checks.

a) That nations are disposing of material in accordance with Article 5.
b) That all installations are not permanent
c) That all equipment and vehicles comply with the treaty.
d) That no military use of the zone is being carried out.

10. Following the signing of this Treaty by at least five nations the Åland Republic of Hygelac shall give up all claim to territory it currently occupies in Hygelac.

11. Nations who have signed this treaty shall do all that is possible to ensure Mundus wide compliance with this Treaty.

12. Nations shall meet annually to reaffirm this Treaty and amend it as necessary.
