MFA World Cup VI
« on: November 15, 2017, 12:43:21 AM »
Back for a sixth tournament, the Men's World Cup. The pinnacle of football tournaments )or soccer if you're American) on Mundus.

as in the last tournament the World cup will consist of a group stage, with grouping being dependent on the number of declared nations competing after which there will be Quarter final, Semi Final and Final Stages (these are minimal rounds if we get 32 competing teams there will obviously be a knockout round and we if we get certain numbers of competing countries we may require some qualification rounds)

Boosts will happen for each round of the group stage as it was last time and each match day will be approx. 3 days apart there is no set start date yet due to a few other issues. For those people who are unfamiliar with the tournament boosts increase the chances of your team winning but do not guarantee victory.

Nations are invited to bid for the hosting rights I have included both the minimum criteria . As in previous events there will be a bidding deadline this time of November 27th with a view to starting soon after.
  • A list of appropriate stadiums, 1 of at least 85,000 capacity to hold the Final, 2 of at least 50,000 capacity (May include re use of the 85,000+ Stadium as well) a minimum of 4 stadiums.
  • Name of the Main TV Rights Holder (Your News Service presumably)
  • Plans for the housing of athletes and staff and training pitches in place for the duration of the Cup
  • Importantly a written letter signed by a ranking member of your government stating that they will provide safe venues and protective services for all players and staff no matter which nation they hail from. (No refusing entry to a nation or holding people prisoner because you don't get along in RP with their nation).

I will handle the scoring side of things, however I will ask someone else to do the scoring of the final should Achkaerin get that far (as I have done in other tournaments when this has happened).

Also Royal Seleucid

If we end up short of teams remember Zimalia and Borland are available too. The mighty Borlander team of 2015 haven't yet all been purged.

ES proposes hosting this year's world cup, and wishes to join...Balticum wishes to join.

An Invitation to Mundus

To Soccer Players, Promoters and Friends of the MFA World Cup VI,

I am delighted to invite thee on the occasion to the Mundus World Cup for Co-operation and Harmony among Nations[1] as I would like to call it. I thank you for readily fulfilling my wish to see champions and coaches from various countries and religions compete in a sporting event to bear witness to the feelings of brotherhood and friendship. My special thanks go to the people and organizations that have contributed to the realization of this event. We have put every conceivable measure in place to ensure that any teams wishing to participate will be able to travel in safety and comfort as they cross through ES. We will of course cover each team's transportation costs and ensure they have adequate levels of privacy and security afforded to them if this football cup will take place in ES.

The games will be above all an opportunity to reflect on the universal values that football and sports in general can foster: loyalty, sharing, acceptance, dialogue, trust in others. These are values common to every person regardless of race, culture and religious creed. Indeed, this year's sporting event is a highly symbolic gesture to help one understand that it is possible to build a culture of encounter and a world of peace, where believers of different religions, while preserving their own identity — for when I said “regardless” this did not mean “setting aside”, no. Believers of different religions, while preserving their own identity, can coexist in harmony and mutual respect.

We all know that sport, especially football, is a human and social phenomenon of great importance, one that has an impact on contemporary customs and mindsets. People, especially young people, look to you with admiration for your athletic abilities. It is important to set a good example both on and off the field. In sports competitions you are called to demonstrate that sport which expresses the joy of life, of games, is a celebration, and as such it must be appreciated through the recovery of its gratuitousness, its capacity to foster the bonds of friendship and strengthen openness between people. Also with your daily behaviour, full of faith and spirituality, humanity and altruism, you can render testimony to the ideals of peaceful civil and social coexistence, for the edification of a civilization founded on love, on solidarity and on peace. And this is the culture of encounter: working for this.

May the football cup of this year revive in those who are taking part the awareness of the need to commit oneself so that sports may contribute effectively and fruitfully to the peaceful coexistence of all peoples, excluding any discrimination of race, language and religion. You know that discrimination can be synonymous with scorn. Discrimination is a form of scorn, and you, with this year's cup, will say ‘no’ to every kind of discrimination. Religions in particular are called to be vehicles of peace and never hatred, for in the name of God one needs to bear love, always and only. Religion and sports, understood in this authentic way, can work together and offer to all of society eloquent signs of the new era in which “nation shall not lift up sword against nation” (cf. Is 2:4).

On such a unique and meaningful occasion as this year's football cup, I want to deliver this message to all of you: expand your hearts as brothers to brothers! This is one of the secrets of life: to expand our hearts as brothers to brothers, and that is also the deepest and most authentic aspect of sports.

Thank you, Take Care and God Bless,

Pope Peter II of the Ecclesiastical State
Bishop of Celestis, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of the Ecclesiastical State, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Celestian Province, Sovereign of the Ecclesiastical State, Supreme Secretary of the Magisterium, Supreme Secretary of the Blessed Consistory, Servant of the servants of God.

List of Stadia

Stadio della Celestis
Capacity: 99,354
Location: Celestis City

General Information: This fabulous stadium is located in the Capital City of Celestis, Τhe Οld woman of the days, the Violet Cty, the Glorious City, The Eternal City, Capital of the World, Throne of St. Peter...The design of Stadio della Celestis has been inspired by the Colosseum, which is reflected in the stone “scrim” that envelops the outside of the stadium. Stadio della Celestis is a part of a larger complex that consists of shops, restaurants and bars, other entertainment facilities, and teams' training grounds. The stadium is furthermore used for large concerts.

The heritage of the classical era is still evident in the city, represented by ancient monuments and works of art. Beginning ever since from 33 AD, almost all the popes since Pope Peter I (r. AD 33-67) pursued almost two thousand years of a coherent architectural and urban programme aimed at making the city the artistic and cultural centre of the world. In this way, Celestis became first one of the major centres of the Ecclesiastical Renaissance, and then the birthplace of both the Baroque style and Neoclassicism in Albion. Famous artists, painters, sculptors and architects made Celestis the centre of their activity, creating masterpieces throughout the city. Celestis' historic centre is listed a National Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Parthenon, the Acropolis of Celestis, the medieval Daphni Monastery, the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are among the world's most visited tourist destinations with both locations receiving millions of tourists a year. A centre for the arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, it is also widely referred to as one of the cradles of Albionite civilization as well, featuring the National Archeological Museum, containing the one of the largest collection of ancient Ecclesiastical antiquities, the Acropolis Museum, the Museum of Cycladic Art, the Benaki Museum and the Byzantine and Christian Museum.

Estadio Wanda Metropolitano
Capacity: 81,338
Location: Magerit City

General Information: The innovative design of this new stadium will ensure fans to the stunning city of Magerit enjoy an optimal viewing experience during games. The new football was built at a lower level than the previous pitch in such a way that allows spectators to be closer to the playing field, without disrupting visibility. The pièce de résistance however, is undoubtedly the stadium’s impressive cover. A light roof covering spectators sits on the stands like a large cloak. It can adapt to different situations and unifies the existing stadium and extension.

While Magerit possesses modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighbourhoods and streets. Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Magerit; the Royal Theatre with its restored 1850 Opera House; the Buen Retiro Park, founded in 1631; the 19th-century National Library building (founded in 1712) containing some of ES's historical archives; a large number of national museums, and the Golden Triangle of Art, located along the Paseo del Prado and comprising three art museums: Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum, a museum of modern art, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, which completes the shortcomings of the other two museums. Its purity and geometrical clarity inspire a sense of monumentality and gracefulness. The grand stairs blur the boundaries between inside and outside and countless columns standing on the stairs accompany the visitors on their way in and out of the stadium. Obligatory: ofcourse all pics not fully representative so descriptions get creative

Etachpilll Temple Complex
Capacity: 54k
Location: Yokwek Tlallaqa, Temple-Government Ward, Chanal

Etachpill Stadium, though one of the smallest is one of the most prestigious in the country. As a Kepata(Hipball) stadium Etachpill can hold over 70k people but expanded to accommodate football standards, it holds at max 54k attendants. The stadium is made with stone and sunken into the cool ground, surrounded by two underlying water causeways from north and western city-front canals. It’s slanted walls are colorfully decorated in old-style pictograms(not depicted) Being in the heart of Chanal, Temple-Government Ward, it is overlooked by Llixchuy Temple to the south, surrounded by a large garden complex. The north stands that extend vertically are built into the southern part of a small pyramidal temple known as Tewikcha, that juts out of the northern end of the stadium above ground.

Chanal University Kwatemek Alley-Field
Capacity: 87k
Location: Yokwek Tlallaqa, West University Ward, Outer Chanal

Used for both university and professional play in a variety of sports, chiefly Football, Basketball and Kepata, Kwatemek Alley-Field(CUKAF) is one of the newer stadiums in Ahkabnil. Built on the outskirts of west Chanal University it’s the home of numerous local sports teams and has a surrounding athletics complex. Kwtemek is upheld as the largest stadium in the country, built mostly for the country’s growing interest in football and Chanal’s college and professional teams, as well as national, though Etachpill is mostly considered the national stadium. It stands as one the tallest structures in the Chanal area and no matter the sport, is always packed to the brim with enthusiastic fans.

Seodlach Garden Field
Capacity: 85k
Location: Yaollichke Tlallaqa, Eshchaxdloq

Seodlach Field(Seh-oh-tlah-ch) is the pride of the small city of Eshchaxdloq, standing as one of the most consistently attended football stadiums in the country. Built for the local football team, undefeated for a consistent 5 years in 2005, the new stadium is built to mend perfectly with it’s surroundings and sits near Eshchaxdloq’s own temple district. The stadium is renown for having electric energy during games, with the most fanatic of fans at their loudest being heard all across the valley.

Tsodzal Temple and Arena
Capacity: 50.4k
Location: Chuyyien Tlallaqa, Makllan

Tsodzal is an indoor arena used to accommodate Kepata, Basketball and Football, it’s also a convention center and place of meeting in the Chuyyien Tlallaqa at times. Sitting on the very outskirts of Makllan City, Tsodzal is remarked for having a distinct pyramid shape inspired by Chanal’s Llixchuy Temple while also being the most expensive stadium to upkeep in the country, with a complex indoor atmospheric system to control both temperature and condensation. Tsodzal is located in the more arid parts of the country in the steppe highlands, being the second highest stadium in the country.

Pewekon Football Stadium
Capacity: 71.2k
Location: Kolwen Tlallaqa, Huxhpewekon

Pewekon is located in the high city of Huxhpewekon or Huxh for short, the highest elevated city in the country with 25,000 people. It's notorious for being the only dedicated football stadium in the country and being the toughest to play at due to it's thin air at elevation. The sights are beautiful the atmosphere rivals Kwatemek Field.

Ahkabnil is a country fueled by the competitive endeavor of sports and perfection, we hold no quarrel with anyone who wishes to join in such rivalry on the field, since the days of the Quywe Empire we have all settled our differences and disputes in the form of competitive sports with the utmost respect. Our government vows to protect this endeavor and honor the MFA because of this and we look forward to the upcoming world cup.

Revered Speaker, Teudili Anan

State Ministry of Cascadia

The Cascadian Government on behalf of several cities, namely the City of Harbordale and City of Scott. Cascadia also will commit its national team to the event.

Players will be housed, should we be humbly chosen to host this event, in various hotels in Harbordale and Scott depending on where they are playing that week. The Harbordale-Scott high speed rail line, enabling anyone to get between the two cities in fourty five minutes or less, will be made available freely to anyone during the World Cup. The Cascadian Mounted Police will be tasked primarily with security, as well as the Cascadian and Victorian state polices, and the police forces of Scott and Harbordale. Rest assured all players and spectators will be safe and sound in a Cascadian world cup.

Damien Bradley,
Secretary of State

Voting for Host is now open:

The following are the bids:

Himeyama
Ecclesiastical State
Akhabnil
Harbordale (Cascadia)

As we have four bids we will as before use the ranking system to determine the host. Those voting will therefore rank in order of preference the bids the top ranked bid will receive four points, second will receive three, third will get two points and fourth one point. Voting will close on Thursday the 30th November. If there is a tied result then the number of first place preferential votes will determine the result. Finally in terms of voting everyone may only vote once i.e. no voting with both primary and secondaries.

Hosting this year has an additional benefit in that the hosting state will automatically qualify for the final tournament though should the Harbordale bid win then then only the Cascadian State of Victoria will automatically qualify the other four will still have to. So with that said voting is now open!
