Freezing Soldiers (to Quintelia)

HERRENBUCHT: MINISTRY OF TRADE

To whomever it concerns,

After the suprising extinction of the Herrenbuchtian beaver, the government of Herrenbucht finds itself in a difficult situation. For the upcoming Independence Day Parade we need immense stockpiles of beaver fur (or fur with a similiar texture). We estimate to need at least 8 tonnes of high quality fur. Since this material is
one of the main exports of your nation, we hope that you are able to deliver
it quickly. The price can be discussed later. Of course a Quinetlian delegation will be welcome at our parade if you are willing to help us.

Yours sincerely,
Ludwig von Becksburg, Minister of Trade

Official Letter From The Minister of Trade and Industry

Salutations,

Greetings, Sir Ludwig von Becksburg. We are very sorry on hearing the news on the extinction of such magnificent creature. It may seem that your environmental laws were lacking. Sarcasm aside,  yes we can ship the products to Herrenbucht. The products will be flown as usual to preserve the quality of the hides. We will be using bear fur and wolf fur as substitutes because beavers aren't an endemic species in this area. The average weight of the hide of a North Quintelian Bear is 30 kilograms, while a wolf's would yield 10 kilograms. As a result,  300 bears and 200 wolves would be killed to satisfy your request, assuming you are using metric. Such high number of animals killed on a very little time frame might disrupt ecosystems of certain regions. Therefore, according to the calculation of an average of $20 per kilogram of raw bear hide, and an average of $50 per kilogram of wolf fur, based on the sale of hunting organizations; add the cost of labor for the processing and treatment which is $50,000; with shipment costing $1 per kilogram; and finally the cost of the damage in the environment of $100,000: you shall pay at least $8,370,000 in cash. The Minister of Foreign Affairs would be interested in visiting your nation. Any further inquiries will be received. I wish you, and Herrenbucht, a happy independence day.

Singed,

Miguel Ibaņez, Minister of Trade and Industry

HERRENBUCHT: MINISTRY OF TRADE

To: Miguel Ibaņez
CC: Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Your offer is more than agreeable! We will accept it and pay the amount of $8,370,000 (5,580,000 BKM) gladly. Please feel also free to send us a regiment of your own military to take part in our Parade. We would allow them in immediately so they can practice beforehand. They will surely be a great complement to our own soldiers. A thousand thanks for saving our day and may the Lord protect you!

Signed
Ludwig von Becksburg, Minister of Trade

Official Letter From The Minister of Trade and Industry

Salutations,

Greetings, Sir Ludwig. I kindly reject the offer of sending soldiers to Herrenbucht. Most of them are still under a very intensive training. We will, however, send the Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss a few important things.

Singed,

Miguel Ibaņez, Minister of Trade and Industry
