Suzerainty of Revachol
Acheiving independence from being a colony in the mid 1700s, Revachol proclaimed itself a constitutional monarchy. Its first monarch was Charles, of the House de Revachol. At this time, Revachol's economy stemmed from its positioning of itself as a hub of trade and commerce, with goods from all over the world flowing through it. The Suzerainity remained largely peaceful through out its lifespan, engaging in conflict very rarely and only to protect its financial trade interests. The nation's flag was based around the optical illusion the first settlers saw when they arrived in now-Revachol, the Sun orbited by seven other, smaller Suns.
The Penultimate years
In the late 1800s, the main branch of the House de Revachol died out, and the Suzerainity passed to the Fillipian branch of the family. Fillipe I was crowned, and quickly gained a reputation for spending most of his time ruling high on cocaine. Indeed, his son would be born immensly cognatively stunted, due, as many suspected, to his mother's not-insignificant usage of the drug during her pregnancy. Fillipe II spent most of his brief reign ill, dying within two years of taking the throne. His cousin, Fillipe III rose to the throne, and became quickly known for his profligacy, spending most of the state budget and royal treasury on vast feasts, cocaine, palaces, women and gold. His son, Fillipe the Insane, developed syphilus in the womb, and the nation was ruled on his behalf by his uncle, Fillipe the Lion.
The Commune of Revachol
As the nation became poorer and poorer, taxes squeezing harder and harder and exploitation growing bigger and bigger, the works of a little known man called Karl Marx began to circulate amongst the workers. The most inspired was a man named Kraz Makov, who formed le Parti Communiste d'Revachol. Eventually, in 1936, Fillipe the Lion saw the writing on the wall, and fled the country. A year later, the Commune or Revachol was declared in the Proclamation of 1936, and a civil war emerged between the Communards and the Royalists. The civil war would eventually be won by the Communards in 1945, with Fillipe the Insane executed unceremoniously.
The Moralist Intervention
In 1946, as the Commune reached its decade anniversary, the international bourgoise with previous interests in Revachol met together and with exiled members of Revachol's military staff. Together, they ammassed a combined vast army of mercenaries, militia volunteers and exiled Revacholian soldiers. The coalition called itself the "Moralist Coalition", with its stated goals being the preservation of humanity, democracy, and promoting progress through incremental change rather than revolution. The intervention began with heavy shelling of the city, followed by a land and naval invasion. The Commune's military, still battered from its civil war, fell by the spring of 1947.
