THE BATTLE FOR FREEDOM
Pre-WarEcclesiastical ships have been secretly sending weapons to the native guerrillas. Spies were sent to dockyards to sabotage and relay information about their navy. Local revolutionary groups set formations of soldiers as they were told by Ecclesiasticals. Word about a revolution was spreading silently, being passed between person to person.
The Battle of Quintopia Bay (Lungsod Bay)Smoke arose from the horizon, with the sun high in the sky. It was a normal day for Quintelia, everyone near the port thought it was just another Ecclesiastical ship bringing cargo and taking resources, except it wasn't. The smoke grew larger, and more, until about 50 pillars of smoke were seen. A deafening explosion was heard, and a large splash soon followed. The Quintelian Navy was alarmed, and 65 ships were deployed. Explosions followed each other, with screams of men and splashes of water were heard. After an hour of the battle, with the smoke clearing away, victorious Ecclesiasticals cheared as they began the bombardment of Port Baybayin, the Headquarters of the Quintelian Navy. There were no survivors from the shelling. The ships docked on the port, with the sun setting, shining upon the remnants of the Quintelian navy. A 21 cannon salute was hard, marking the beginning of the Second Revolution, giving a signal to the rebels in the city.
Battle of LungsodOutside the city, multiple work camps and possible hideouts for Merrit were liberated. Trucks full of produce going from farm to city were replaced with soldiers. It was 1903, and cars and trucks were already used. Supporters of Merrit were round up and sent to the Headquarters of the Hunters.
Inside the city, the Quintelian army fought against two sides. Bridges were destroyed, forcing themselves to focus against the Quintelian Guerrillas and cutting off the Ecclesiastical units. The Guerrillas pushed there way to the last bridge that isn't demolished yet, and heavily guarded it. They rushed to it and fired from behind, with now the support from Ecclesiasticals. Even with thick smoke, the Quintelian Army were easily seen thanks to their colorful blue and yellow uniform, making them easy targets. The allied forces reached the LBQ at around 9:45 pm, local time.
Storming of the Legislative BuildingThe Executive Building of Quintelia was the first target, but it was already evacuted with the exception of some ambush teams and traps. The next target was the LBQ, where it is known that an evacuation room in the basement for the President, his family, and his office is located. At midnight, smoke barrages hit near the LBQ on all sides. The two armies opened fire to all sides of the building. With the cover from the smoke and guards distracted, few of them infiltrated the building. They killed the guards silently with their knives, until they were found. An hour of fighting later, the front door was compromised and the soldiers poured in. Every unarmed person was arrested, until they arrived in the basement. Arthur Merrit was standing by the ebtrance, holding a revolver aimed at the door. When it opened, he immediately shot bullet-by-bullet, or just six continues shots before he himself found a bullet on his head. His family was arrested and exiled to Foxtrove.
"Freedom At Last"News on the defeat of Merrit spread. A democratic election was held with the old constitution, and the winner was Edward Laurel. He and the Ecclesiasticals signed a treaty, a mutual defense pact, and trade agreements. Although no-one who fought in the war is alive today, the spirit against a communist country lives on.
