Proposing A United Front Against Slavery

The First Empire is aware of the various links between the membership of SANE and the Tamoran Empire, relationships which have existed despite the Tamoran support for the institution of slavery into the 21st century. While I recognize the links which exist between the individual members of SANE and the Tamoran Empire I believe that the spirit of Cross-Ardian unity is one which is much more worth pursuing, and one which is much more profitable to our nations, than maintaining links with the Tamoran Empire. A united stand against those who empower slavery to continue its existence into the modern era is necessary in preventing yet another generation of young Tamorans in living lives with no determination over their course, consigned to a life where their labour and spirit are the property of another.

To these ends I wish to propose to each member of SANE the following:

  • The First Empire will agree to purchase oil (synthetic included) which otherwise would have been sold on the OPEN markets at a .5% mark-up should Quintellia sever ties with the organization.
  • Accounting for other loses which may be incurred by a severance of ties, the First Empire will provide to each SANE member which severs ties with the Tamoran Empire an annual Economic Equivalency Payment (EEP) of  र810.8m ($1.5bn). These payments shall continue until such a time the membership of SANE has arranged for alternative economic partnerships separating them from the Tamoran economy which bases itself upon slavery.
  • Upon documented severance of ties with the Tamoran regime and the Tamoran economy, SANE members will be certified as Preferred Trading Partners of the First Empire, granting them unfettered access to a nearly $10 trillion dollar economy while also allowing for further access to the Cross-Straits economy, a market worth upwards of $15 trillion plus.
  • Other industries which would suffer losses due to the severance of ties with the Tamoran Empire may be presented for consideration in the Economic Equivalency Fee (EEF), which would see a Rokkenjiman commitment in purchasing those goods and materials which would otherwise be destined for Tamoran/Tamoran-connected markets. These goods will also be considered on a case-by-case basis for the .5% markup.

We can realize, in this century, the consignment of slavery to the dustbins of history if we, as Ardians, work together to cast it there. Often it is said if you believe in something, to put your money where your mouth is. The First Empire is willing to do just that to ease the strains which would be put upon the membership of SANE, as we have the capacity to do so. The First Empire asks not that SANE joins us in sanctions, we merely ask that SANE declines future business and economic deals with the Tamoran Empire and instead engages with their continental neighbours in the pursuit of such deals. Once this new economic network is in place for SANE I am confident that the benefits shall outweigh the losses in eliminating the Tamoran Empire from your business arrangements.

Respectfully yours;
