Burhaan Magan Warsame Temitope

Birthday: 16 May, 1941
Education: Djabidjan City University, degree in Philosophy and Theology
Political affiliation: Independent Faithful Movement (Dhaah Party)
Positions held: Leader and Commander of the Christian Action Front
Biography: An ethnic Maadaan, Burhaan Temitope was born in Attalaxia. He studied in a Catholic school until 1960, when she moved to Djabidjan City, enrolling in the Djabidjan City University. In the early 1960s, Temitope joined several Christian labour and political organizations. Following the 1963 coup d'etat, he was arrested for participating in anti-government protests. He was released in 1965, and he moved back to Attalaxia.

From 1965 to 1968, he lived between Attalaxia and Balona, where he had several jobs, including working for a Catholic newspaper. He was fired in 1969, and he joined Traditionalist Front, an anti-communist armed group. In 1969, he founded his own organization, the Christian Action Front, also known as DXAHK, and armed group which would carried in the 1970s terrorist actions against the Social Republic of Djabidjan. The Christian Action Front aimed to establish a religious state in northern Ardia. Their members and sympathizers were almost exclusively ethnic Maadaan. It is considered that around 300-400 people -including both government officials and civilians- were killed by actions of the organization.

In 1980, DXAHK entered in negotiations with the government to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, but the negotiations failed. The Christian Action Front continued its assassination campaigns for the next two decades, although their success considerably declined. In 1996, Burhaan Temitope would be deported to Djabidjan where he was sentenced to life imprisonment. In the late 2000s, the Christian Action Front entered negotiations with the government. In 2012, the Christian Action Front announced a "unilateral end of armed actions". In 2015, the organization was renamed as Independent Faithful Movement, or Dhaah Party, renouncing armed struggle in favor of "political action and mass resistance". However, the Dhaah Party has continued to be considered a terrorist organization in Djabidjan and it was not allowed to register as a legal political organization.

Burhaan Temitope currently lives in a high security prison in southeastern Djabidjan, and -with a few exceptions- not even his lawyers are allowed to visit him.

He is married and has seven children. Two of his sons are also currently in prison (a third was released in 2018, following the end of a 18-year sentence), and another son was killed in a shootout with armed forces in 1994.
