OOC Socialisation / Political Compass but better
« on: September 07, 2017, 01:34:08 AM »
With a new forum and all, I think it would be nice to have a new thread in the same spirit as the old political compass one but with a new(and imo better) quiz for political identification. Post your 8 values quiz results in this thread and maybe share a bit about your political beliefs.  The 8 values quiz is a political quiz that attempts to assign percentages for eight different political values.https://8values.github.io/

PLEASE NOTE: According to the 8values website, the "closest match" ranking is a work in progress and is much less accurate than the values and axes, so don't take it too seriously.

Here's my results:

I think my most surprising result was on the diplomatic axis.  I thought I would be more internationalist, being pro-EU and UN, supporting open borders and free trade, along with being a big fan of multiculturalism.  All the other results were as expected, as I've moved past my edgytarian stage and became more centrist.

To the international community,
The children of Tumaini are in great need of help. Our government is trying to combat poverty and eliminate illiteracy but we currently lack the funds to construct public schools and hospitals in all the districts of Tumaini. We humbly request for aid to help us with our mission to improve the lives of our children.

As part of President Asani's economic reforms, he has pushed measures to encourage foreign companies to build manufacturing plants within Tumaini. Some of the benefits of manufacturing in Tumaini include no corporate taxes, no minimum wage, no need for work visas, and no tariffs. In addition, Tumaini is close to Ardia, Alba Karinya, and Coft Aranye, and its ports and airport allow for easy transport of goods. In order to open a plant in Tumaini, fill out the form below, and it will be reviewed by Tumaini's economic council.

Background
[/b][/u]
Tumaini, until fairly recently, was a haven for criminals, gangs, and pirates. Mji wa Tumaini(The city of hope) was ironically riddled with crime and violence, with disease and poverty widespread throughout the city/island. Law enforcement was well known for being inept or corrupt. Officials would typically take bribes, and the more honest ones were quickly killed by the local gangs. The Tuimaini government was even more corrupt and inept, with no real change happening until President Jelani rose to power. Jelani quickly eliminated corrupt government officials and began instituting reforms to law enforcement, through taking a very heavy handed(some would say authoritarian) attack on organized crime in Tumaini. After cleaning up the streets and removing corrupt officials from the government, he declined to run in the next presidential elections. His former economic adviser, Asani, was elected as the next president of Tuimaini and now begins economic reforms to create growth in Tumaini.
