Rugby World Cup 2018
Back for the fourth time is the Mundus Rugby World Cup (which is most likely the most hotly contested trophy on Mundus). Last year saw East Moreland regain their crown and this year the seemingly invincible Honeybadgers could make it three world cups from four tournaments if they win. Will they manage it or will a new name adorn the trophy?
Ok serious stuff, as per the usual sports sign ups state in this thread if you want to enter your nation into this - all hosting bids to be posted by the 23rd of November please, following which there'll be a vote for hosting which I'll explain if one is needed. The full explanation of the bidding process is below.
Bidding Process
The bidding process requires nations wishing to host to submit requested information, what information is dependent on the event in question. There will be a deadline set for bid submissions. any bids entered after that date will not be considered unless the vote has not opened. As you can probably guess from that sentence once bidding closes there will be a vote conducted by vote this will not be in the form of a poll but in the form of a post in this topic (this is to ensure fairness of the vote)
So with that in mind the following is the criteria for the Rugby World Cup bids
- A minimum list of six stadia- you are expected to include the capacity of these venues at least one stadium must have a minimum capacity of 80,000 (for the final) and at least two must have capacity's of 70,000
- Name of the Main TV Rights Holder (For example Tytorian News Service or EMTV)
- Information relating to accommodation for teams and supporters.
- Importantly a written letter signed by a ranking member of your government stating that they will provide safe venues and protective services for all athletes and staff no matter which nation they hail from. (No refusing entry to a nation or holding people prisoner because you don't get along in RP with their nation).

Following the creation of the Treaty of Unity for Alucard Nations the nations of Lodja, Bakkermaya and Paracambi have strived for greater and greater co-operation. As such we see the concept of jointly hosting a major sporting event as a way of further cementing this blossoming relationship.
As such we propose to use the following stadiums for the event.
1. To host the final - The King Paul Arena, Wellow, 82,187

It is our hope organisers can have Group Games take place at all six nominated stadiums however as the tournament progresses to knock outs we would wish to ensure a fair spread of the games.
As the tournament is taking place within three nations we intend to create the Tri-Island TV Administration Network (TITAN) while this will ensure that the tournament receives state of the art coverage while further uniting the island nations of the Northern Alucard.
In terms of accommodation it is well known that Paracambi and Lodja have thrieving tourist industries, these will enable them to offer guests a fantastic opportunity to enjoy comfortable accommodation in a wide variety of locations catering for everything from the budget traveller to those looking for the worlds best resorts. While Bakkermaya may not enjoy the same level of tourism we do have more than adequate levels of accommodation to cater for these games. The people will find all three nations welcoming and the people excited to share their hospitality and culture with those visiting. The fact that the World Cup would take place in what are three very different nations culturally will give those visiting the World Cup an exciting experience that no other hosting bid would be able to recreate so well. Teams meanwhile will use local University facilities for training and we intend to use money from advertising to build better facilities ahead of the games which will later be made available to local clubs, thus selecting the three of us as hosts will ensure a growth in the game. Bakkermaya already enjoys a great deal of support for rugby, but in recent years we have seen Lodja begin to invest, even employing a former WOrld Cup winning coach in order to oversee their grassroots developments. Paracambi are newcomers to the sport and it is suspected that bringing them a world cup will inspire their first generation of rugby players to embrace the game with open arms.
One exciting development the games would bring about is the creation of a high speed ferry network between the islands involved, creating a lasting utility for the people of these islands bringing them closer together and generating great economic oppurtunities for all people .
As expected all three nations agree to grant entry to all players, coaches and officials as well as introducing a fast track visa programme where necessary for those wishing to come and see the games.
Signed
All six Dukes/Duchesse of Bakkermaya
All six Princes/Princesses of Paracambi
Duke Leopold Harnik of Lodja (Member of Conclave) (OOC- Future husband of Queen Klara)

Cabbagelandiet is participating to hopefully manage to take bronze somewhere. Probably not. Maybe we will be first from last.
-
Seaforth Golden Bears are in.
-
*bump for more entries*
48 hours until host bid deadline.
-
NQF and Suiseikawa will take part.
-
Add Carpathia please.
-
New Derusmia will be attending the Rugby World Cup.
-
That makes sixteen teams I'm going to be adding in the NPC's on Monday to make up the numbers to 24, so as I've said at times like this before - Last call!
-
Sign ups hereby closed (NPC's added to make up numbers) I'm intending on doing the group draw fairly quickly which will allow me to work out the scheduling fixture wise, so as we're going down to the Alucard if the hosts want to figure out an opening and post the IC they can feel free to do so.
