Kravec reads the treaty carefully, nodding absently.

"That is a fine start, Head Gothi...assuming that Slava Lavosk wishes to be nuclear free, but you have jumped to the conclusion without addressing the needs of Slava Lavosk, the reason we developed this capability in the first place. Without certain assurances, I can see no benefit in decommissioning or dismantling our arsenal. I am aware that this cannot occur in a vacuum, however. In good faith, I will offer a first concession. Slava Lavosk will cease live fire testing of nuclear weapons. I also agree in theory to the verification committee. My delegation is currently selecting our chosen representative. In exchange, I desire the lifting of all sanctions, embargoes and blockades against my nation."

BiographyIlya Kravec is the son and only child of Vaclav Kravec and Anna Radvak, the older sister of Admiral Konrad Radvak. Groomed from an early age, Ilya was assigned to KOS directly out of post secondary education when he was commissioned. Ilya is highly intelligent with a genius level IQ he inherited from his mother. Exceeding capable in strategic military applications and asymmetrical thinking, Ilya is the finest planner and strategist to come out of Slava Lavosk in a long time. Ilya is a certified textbook sociopath that sees people as assets/objects and a means to an end. It is noteworthy that this does not apply to children. Ilya does not react well to rapid changes or evolving tactical situations and it is possible to get "inside his decision cycle". Ilya has often been torn between the legacy of his father, Vaclav, and the teachings, stories and history from his mother's side of the family, reinforced often by his Uncle Konrad.

Sanctions Lifted

In a speech made early this morning, King Andrew, officially ended the sanctions against Clysperis.

"I am pleased that Pharaoh Bektaten has seen reason. Such egregious crimes against humanity needed to be stood against, and so Seaforth stands. The speed in which Pharaoh Bektaten reversed her decision illustrates the fact that she knew how wrong her stance was from the outset. I am of course saddened that she resorted to insults and slander against the Seaforthian people. The people of Seaforth are not her enemy nor the enemy of her people. Much like a teenager entering adulthood, a nation just recently ending it's isolation will often misstep or offer words designed to incite. I believe this to be the case in Clysperis and will act so. If Pharaoh Bektaten desires a relationship of some kind with Seaforth, we are prepared to move forward in good faith and with an open hand."

Joshua and Evanthe were having a great time as they worked through the cocktail hour. The couple were very sure to greet each of the guests as they arrived and welcome them to Wellow on behalf of the Duchess. As the cocktail hour closed out, the Welcome Dinner was called. As the staff prepared to serve, Joshua made his way to the podium to give his welcome speech.

"Friends and neighbours, new and old. It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Governor's Ball. I would like to start by thanking Anna, Duchess of Wellow, for opening her home, island and Duchy to us...allowing us to have this little get-together."

Joshua starts a round of applause, soon taken up by the room and continuing until Anna stands and acknowledges the room. Smiling wide, Joshua continues.

"Thank you Duchess. My time as Governor will be fleeting, but this is, I hope, the beginning of a great tradition. Too often, the people who find themselves in a position of power and influence, only come together in dire circumstances or threat...or to discuss weighty and serious issues in their nations and the world at large. I wanted to break that cycle. I wanted my international friends and peers to come together for one weekend where we could lay down our burdens for a time, to eat and dance in friendship and camaraderie, where the most difficult decision faced is whether to have one dessert or two. For when two people come together in harmony and openness, that is when bonds are made, that is when worlds are built. So welcome Bakkermaya, Welcome Seaforth, Welcome Rokkenjima, Welcome Neo Quywe Federation, Welcome Krimeon,  Welcome Achkaerin, Welcome Tauredalia, welcome each and every one of you. As the great writer said, 'Come and know me better, man!"

Applause...

"Now, the chef's have moved heaven and earth to bring you the very best of Wellow and Bakkermayan cuisine tonight. Some of the highlight dishes include Wellow Fried Snapper, Jerk Chicken Cabbage Rolls, Goat Stew, Coconut Rice, Pumpkin Spiced Perogies...and for desserts we have Plantain and Chocolate Strudel and Pineapple Sachre Torte."

"Lastly, please join me offering a small prayer of thanks to the Gods, or whatever power you believe in, for allowing us to share in this meal, this night and this weekend."

With the prayers ended, dinner is served....

6
"My Dear Cecelia. I am truly sorry for all the suffering inflicted upon you. Forced though it was, it was wrong. Slava was wrong. I was wrong. I fear if word of your existence were to be released at this time, it would mark the end of you. The Anusa would come for you. Those implacable murderers and torturers would complete the lie that you are deceased. The time will come, but it is not today. Until that day we need to ensure that Beatrice will not be able to eliminate you. We must move slowly, cautiously. We may fail, but until we do, I will keep you safe from harm."

After concluding his chat with President Kadassa, Kravec took some time alone. As he stood on the balcony smoking his cigarettes, he ordered his thoughts and formulated a plan. Stroking his beard in thought, Kravec took one final drag of the cigarette and crushed it out. With confidence, he strode back into the conference room, his delegation falling in behind, including a very pale Markus Bathory. Inside the conference room, the Slavan's took their seats and awaited Emperor Benson's call to order.

Andrew watched stoically as the arm was severed. He felt Camryn's hand squeeze his as she restrained her physicians urge to intervene. As to Andrew himself, flashes from the Eugenics War came rolling back before his eyes. While Joshua has lead the loyalist forces from the outside, Andrew had organized the internal resistance. The crimes of the Seaforth Catholic Church were....grim...much as the insane display he had just witnessed.

A few minutes later, Andrew and Camryn found themselves sipping water and milling about. Seeing David, Camryn tugged on Andrew's arm and led him over. After making their manners, Andrew leaned in close and spoke quietly.

"It seems Mundus continues it's race to the bottom. Nuclear weapons, wanton slavery, kangaroo courts and now this...this butchery....it feels as if the Underlords are clawing their way back. How can we deal with a nation that decides its leader based on the ability to survive an intentional amputation of a healthy limb?"

King Andrew Censures Clysperis

"Following the recent proclamation by Pharaoh Bektaten the ugly specter of slavery once again rears it's head. Now, not only is the Pharaoh of Clysperis endorsing slavery, but arbitrarily sentencing people to slavery for apparent crimes of their ancestors. These are blatant violations of basic human rights and a gross miscarriage of justice. As a result, The Kingdom of Seaforth requests that Pharaoh Bektaten reconsider her stance. Until such time, The Kingdom of Seaforth shall employ a series of ever-strengthening sanctions against Clysperis and encourage our friends and allies to do likewise. Citizens of Clysperis seeking refuge and asylum from such arbitrary brutality will find aid in any Seaforth embassy, station, mission or enclave and will be placed in a fast track for asylum application and refugee status."

King Andrew felt the cool on his forehead as a slight draft dried the rosewater from the purification ceremony. Tucked under one arm was an ornate wooden box, containing the traditional Seaforthian gift to heads of state. Grasping his other hand was Camryn Hopkins, looking slightly uneasy as they entered the Black Crypt. Andrew smiled to himself, once again she was braving the international scene for his benefit...he really should marry that girl. Andrew started slightly as he heard a motherly voice speak in heavily accented Mhorish. "No shit."

Volbeat Announces World Tour

Hailing from Somerset, the Seaforthian heavy rock band Volbeat has announced it's going on a World Tour to celebrate the release of their 7th studio albumn Rewind, Replay, Rebound featuring the first single Leviathan. Expected to strike a balance of old favourites and new freshness, Volbeat has inherited the title of "Seaforth's Greatest Band" from former title holders Rage Against The Machine. Guitarist Tom Morello was reached from Glastomundus for  a comment.

"I wish them all the best. It's lonely at the top, but Volbeat is a great band and I'm a huge fan myself. For me personally, I look forward to stepping back a bit. Spending time with my family and spending some time in the studio. No pressure, just creating music and loving life. But, don't worry...there will be a worthy cause soon enough and the world will see us front in and center wherever that is, rebelling as only Seaforth can."

"Aaaah." Said Kravec, a twinkle in his eye.

"I see what you suggest and it mimics my own thoughts on the matter. We will need to proceed step by step in the negotiations. If I just trot out a list of demands and concessions, it will no doubt be struck down by those that hate either me personally or Slavans in general....oh, the power games we play. I suppose I could open the discussion by offering..."

Kravec drifts off in thought, playing the odds in his head and muttering to himself for a brief minute.

"Yes, that will work nicely I think. As to your more...delicate...subject, you are not wrong. It would be of great benefit to Slava Lavosk to secure a reliable source of uranium. Though any such deal will come under intense scrutiny by the world at large and your...benefactors...in Rokkenjima. If you are prepared to stand the heat, I believe that Slava Lavosk can undertake such an arrangement and aid you advancing your own nuclear program."

Kravec smiles and taps the side of his nose...

"For civilian purposes, of course."

Kravec shook President Kadassa's hand and then opened his cigarette case. He offered one to Kadassa and lit up his own.

"President Kadassa, I am pleased to speak with you. I share your frustration. We are not subjects of these monarchies, but the elected leaders of our people. I watched your tribulations from afar and empathised with your plight. Alas I was powerless to reach out."

"We had the opportunity to develop a deterrent...and we took it. I wish we didn't have to, but wishes wont change things. I know they won't walk away either. These people launch air strikes against poor neighbours, threaten allies and financially abuse anyone they can. They are like mongrel dogs after a carcass, biting and snarling at anyone else until a dominant few are locked in a surly stalemate."

"I too think we could work together, we both need to shake of the dictatorial monarchists. I would be willing to deal fairly with these people, but I won't be ordered around like a stable boy. If you have a suggestion, I would be pleased to hear it."

The Kingdom of Seaforth agrees to the formation of these 3RA's. We do question the ability of Zimalia to fulfill it's obligations under this program. If we are in error, my apologies. If these concerns are valid, the Kingdom of Seaforth is willing to provide what assistance we can to aid Zimalia in meeting it's obligations. This is intended as a hand up rather than taking their obligations on as our own.

We second the motion made by the esteemed member from the Conglomerate.

Markus Bathory, the rock solid statesman kept his cool as he pushed her hand, still holding the picture, gently into her abdomen. The colour drained from his face as he cast a furtive glance left and right.

"Spandau"

The word uttered, he turned and quickly walked away.

17

Cecelia's request had caught Kravec by surprise. He had felt his heart leap in his chest and he was excited she had chosen to break her silence. What it meant he didn't know....but he had to find out.

He took his time walking back, the clack-tap of his shoes echoing off the hardwood floor. Re-entering her rooms he held her gaze.

"How can I help you Cecelia?"

Markus Bathory nodded at the two delegates with and they took a step or two back, giving the illusion of privacy.

"I remember you. The little cowgirl, no that's not it...sheriff. Yes, The Sheriff is in town, yes?"

Bathory chuckled at his own joke.

"I remember you spoke well. Passionately. I also know that when you didn't get what you wanted, you and your nation vanished, like vapor, like you were never there...and he so-called foundation to build on and mutual concerns vanished with you. Until we did what William Azurewind did...but wait, no, that's not right. We didn't drop a nuclear weapon on a city, did we? So say your piece, girl. May your words not be vapor this time."

Paracambi Talks Stall

At the multi-nation talks in Paracambi, President Kravec has begun to take the international community, specifically the "Original Three" nuclear powers, to task. Unsurprisingly insults and vitriol came almost immediately from Empress Breatrice and the Rokkenjiman Empire. That Empire, as you know, is a close friend with the declared jihadists in Tamora and is currently attempting to blockade our nation with support from their historic 'Yes Men', and perennial wallflowers and milk sops in Tytor.

With no end to the insults in sight, President Kravec demanded an apology from Empress Beatrice and stormed out, appearing to stall the talks almost as they began. In an effort to combat the lies of Slava Lavosk's so-called human rights record, President Kravec has ordered the release of unedited footage from the detention camp in the Lavosk Mountains, containing approximately 10,000 Slavans of Tamoran descent.

The footage, documents detention camps, yes. But the camps appear to be made of solid structure, adequate to house the people in the Lavosk climate and contains schools, an infirmary and a large scale mess hall. The Iwi had been invited to tour the camps personally, though that tour never materialized for unknown reasons.

We here at the Sarajevo Times pray for President Kravec as he represents us, as the only elected leader of a nuclear power, at these talks.

Kravec turned upon hearing his name. Seeing who it was, he motioned to his delegation to carry on while he remained alone to speak with the Head Gothi

"Ah. Head Gothi Ulfsson. I am glad to meet you."

At the mention of his performance, Kravec smiles and waves away the comment

"With Empress Beatrice constantly calling me a mad man, my people and my self terrorists and continuing to bring up the one and single questionable action by my people.....well...all the delegates were seeing was a catapult...or a nuclear weapon. Now they saw an old man on a table. Decidedly less black, yes?"

"Slava has been marginalized and ignored for too long. When you sit in the shadow of a jihad...the shadow makes all nations appear to be black. Who is Tamora's great ally? Rokkenjima. Who blockades us? Rokkenjima….and those boot lickers in Tytor."

Kravec pauses and pull's out a cigarette case. Lighting one he continues.

"I won't comment on our nuclear program at this time, but I will say that I did not come here merely to posture and flip chairs. But how do I move forward when one of the unelected leaders of a nuclear nation is clearly intent on calling me names and stealing my lunch money...no different than any other schoolyard bully."

"I demanded an apology and expected none. But you spoke to me as an equal and so because of that and your nations generosity, I will return when this break is over to hear more about how crazy I am and how evil my people are."

Kravec stubs out his cigarette.

"I actually love pickled herring. Every new years my grandfather and I would eat herring and sour dough and drink slivovitz until the clock struck midnight...I wonder what he would think of little Vaclav today, here. But of course, monsters don't have grandfathers, do they?"

With that, Kravec left to prepare himself for the next part of the talks...

With President Kravec occupied with the Head Gothi, the rest of the Slavan Delegation continued on to another part of grounds. While most of the delegation smoked and drank coffee, Markus Bathory and two others detached themselves and drifted towards the other delegations....

Diplomacy and Events / Re: Two Minutes To Midnight
« on: June 18, 2019, 06:24:59 AM »

President Vaclav Kravec hadn't planned to attend these talks in person. His original plan had been to send Markus Bathory to represent the Republic of Slava Lavosk and treat with the Heads of State of the major powers...including King David of East Moreland, Emperor Peter of Achkaerin and Empress Beatrice of Rokkenjima. There, with the leaders of the original powers conveniently in once place...to nuke the city and cripple his rivals by decapitating the leadership. Ah...another brilliant plan that no one would ever realize was a coin flip away from altering Mundus for all time. Kravec had decided that that was ultimately not in the best interests of Slava Lavosk...long term. So, at the last minute, Kravec had joined the delegation under Paracambi protection and made his way to the talks.

There, Kravec listened in stoney silence as the various speakers made their remarks. When Kravec judged the time right, he stood up slowly. Instead of begging for his turn to speak, Kravec spun his chair around and slid it next to the table. Using it as make shift stairs, Kravec stepped up onto the heavy conference table, towering over the people seated. There, in the center of the table Kravec grasped his hands behind his back, still and quiet until a hush had fallen over the delegations.

In a deep, gravelly voice, he began.

"I will speak for Slava Lavosk."

" I had hoped that these talks would be a turning point. I had hoped, dared to dream, that for the first time I, as the leader of my people, would be spoken to...not with the respect due a nuclear nation...but with the common courtesy due any human being and child of Mundus. Once again I am slandered and insulted. No more. Slava Lavosk's human rights record is impeccable. Far better than the nations of Rokkenjima, East Moreland and Achkaerin in fact, each of which have committed crimes in the name of national interest. My people, almost alone, stood against slavery in the face of dire threat and declared jihad. Any failings are mine and mine alone. The girl, Dilara, as mentioned, was a citizen of Slava Lavosk, though with Tamoran heritage. She was accused of a crime under the Slavan Criminal Code, was prosecuted and tried in a Slavan Court under Slavan Law. She was found guilty by a Slavan jury and sentenced by a Slavan Judge. My error, in a moment of anger and weakness, was to not commute the legal sentence. It is a decision that I have to live with, but it is not a decision within the purview of international whim nor does it constitute human rights violations or a 'record' thereof."

"My nation and I are repeatedly declared terrorists. We have threatened no one, only sought to secure our own future in the face of imminent threat and a declared jihad. In no way shape or form does Slava Lavosk even remotely meet any reasonable definition of terrorist. If the Empress Beatrice is just going to continue to slander and lie and present alternative facts just to fit her own narrative, then Slava Lavosk will withdraw from these futile talks and those of you that wish can continue to yell into your own echo chamber until the second coming."

Here, Kravec pause to gather his thoughts...

"Now to the real business of these talks. Many times today I have heard the delegates say that nuclear weapons are not needed to deal with todays threat profile. For rich and powerful nations like yourself, perhaps. But none of you face jihad from an empire five times your size, with chattel slaves in a number almost the same as your entire population. We did what was required. We broke no treaty we are signatories to. None of you have the right to tell me how to defend my people."

"I also believe Rokkenjima's pledge to disarm is paper thin. With a successful test, they immediately halted their program of disarmament and sent those warheads right back to their silos and submarines. Should Slava Lavosk abandon its nuclear weapons program, what guarantees do we have that they will restart it? What guarantees do we have that they won't make good on their threats against us? What guarantees do we have that Tamora won't flood across our borders and kill and enslave our people...it wasn't long ago they annexed their last Kingdom."

"All three of you sit in your golden castles upon your shining cities and look down on poor marginalized, Slava Lavosk. You call me dictator. You call me dangerous. But of all the nuclear powers....I am the only leader that was elected. I was chosen. Not you. Since I became President in 2006, I have seen each of you...."

Kravec points a finger, each in turn, at King David, Empress Beatrice and Emperor Peter,  like the Spear of The Avenging Angel...

"...fight off at least one insurrection and coup attempt, as your own people...sometimes your own blood...sought to topple you from your palace of absolute power. When you consider that the three of you are in fact dictators, it makes sense that you would attempt to keep the rest of us on a less than equal footing... Primo Imperare Ferreo. At this time, under these conditions of hypocrisy,...I specifically mean your references to the Uppsala Convention and other treaties, while failing to take military action against Tamora for flagrant violations of the MCUR...and a constant smear campaign waged by Empress Beatrice and the Rokkenjiman Empire...I cannot at this time, and in good conscience, reveal details of our nuclear weapons program."

Kravec walks over to stand before Emperor Peter Azurewind...

"Your grandfather rended the Heavens. Now it is time to reap what you rent and render unto Slava what is Slava's. We will not be disrespected. We will not be slandered. There are two types of injustice in the world. The injustice of when a law is broken, and the injustice of the unequal application of the law. We have broken no laws and no treaties. What can you tell me of Slava and the second injustice?"

Waling back to the center of the table, Kravec slowly turns, looking each delegate in the eye.

"I second Emperor Peter's call for a short recess. It will give the adults time to re-establish control of this conference. A conference that Slava Lavosk will withdraw from immediately if, upon our return, The Empress Beatrice does not issue Slava Lavosk a full and formal apology."

With that, President Kravec walked off of the table and out of the conference room, trailed by his delegation. The last and youngest of which picked up a chair and tossed it onto the table before turning and heading out the door as well.

Duke Raynald Lachlan the Foreign Minister and representative of the Kingdom of Seaforth stood.

"If I may interject...I can confirm that the Kingdom of Seaforth has dismantled 164 warheads from the Rokkenjiman arsenal with another 12 in transit or in the process of being dismantled. That program, called the Seaforth Strategic Energy Reserve has since been suspended by Empress Beatrice with no plans beyond the 176 weapons in place. Other efforts of nuclear disarmament made by the Rokkenjiman Empire are unknown to us and I leave to Empress Beatrice to comment on if there are any. Thank you."

23

The day of Kravec's return eventually came. One morning he simply arrived with breakfast. This morning breakfast was scrambled eggs and back bacon with pan fried potatos. Coffee, tea, scones and Rokkenjiman honey accompanied it with orange juice and fresh strawberries.

Vaclav Kravec uttered not a single word to Cecelia. When breakfast for two had been set for them he graciously waved her into her chair. Kravec the poured her a cup of tea and took his own seat. They ate in silence, Kravec reflecting her own refusal to speak back at her. As they sat in the morning sun, and ate as the mountain birds sang to them, Kravec's silence seemed to imply to Cecelia that he wanted nothing from her. No demands would be made, no indignities offered.

When he finished his breakfast, Kravec poured himself a last cup of coffee and pulled from his jacket a newspaper, idly flipping through it as he sipped. After several long minutes of reading in the sun, Kravec drained the last of his coffee with a sign. Wiping his mouth with a napkin, he neatly folded the paper and stood up. Smiling and walking  over to Cecelia he placed the paper before her and dipped his head in a short bow.

With that, he turned on his heel and left....still not a word spoken.

It has been brought to my attention that the ball invitations are confusing. Its actually 2 invitations. The first from Joshua Rhodes is world wide for an iinternational ball to be held in Wellow. The second is for friends and family to remain after the ball for a baby shower and golf outing.

Sorry for any confusion

The Governor's Ball has begun! The Governor's residence is buzzing with activity as the invited guests begin to arrive. Over the next hour, SUV's and limousines pull up and let out their guests. Governor Rhodes and his wife, Evanthe, circle the room, greeting those they know and introducing themselves to those they don't. This is a perfect opportunity to have a quick drink or an informal word with someone prior to dinner and the official welcome and opening remarks from Governor Rhodes.

OOC: If you want your party to make an entrance/introduction feel free. Otherwise, my next post will be assembling for dinner and a Welcome Speech (short) from Joshua.

Treblinka Prison
Sarajevo, Slava Lavosk

The prisoner awoke from a very deep sleep. The deepest she could have ever imagined. She was not in her accustomed cell however. Bright sunlight streamed in through a window as she turned over in a comfortable bed in a room with pale yellow walls, accented with flowered wall paper. The smell of fresh mountain flowers came from a
plastic vase on a white dresser along a wall. She was wearing fresh pajamas and her hair had been washed and cut and was now dry. She felt another presence in the room and as she rolled over, she started at the sight of Kravec, sitting in a bedside chair.

"Good Morning, My Dear." He said.

As the woman scrambled out of bed and away from him, Kravec remained calm and seated.

"Easy now Cecelia. Yes, it is time for you to remember your name...or at least use it again. This Prisoner 11269 nonsense is behind us now. I'm sure your mind must be racing with questions. Am I dead? What trick is this? I understand completely and I would have the same questions were I in your position. We will talk again when you have absorbed the change in your circumstance. For you own sake I will tell you this. All that you have experienced here, both at my hands and those that came before me was compelled by threats. When I became president in 2006 and was made aware of your existence and circumstance I was frightened. That first night, I stayed awake pacing my rooms and wondering what to do."

"That choice was taken from me with a single phone call.  I was told exactly what I was to do...along with the dire consequences to be faced by myself and my people should I not comply. Now I will tell you some truths I'm sure you have thought about. Yes, I have been lying to you. Lies about the world, lies about the living and the dead. Those lies are no longer needed."

Kravec leans back in his armchair and crosses on leg over the other.

"I suppose we should start slowly and start at the beginning. You were betrayed to the Federal Republic. Someone in your own camp sold you to them. In turn, you were sent to Slava Lavosk where, the Republicans paid us to keep you hidden and broken. Paid on the one hand, threated with the 'End of Days' on the other. My predecessor had little choice...though you will be happy to learn he died very painfully when I had him killed. I'm sure you will be equally joyful at my eventual demise...if you are around to hear about it."

"Now I'm not sure who betrayed you to the Republicans, but subsequent investigation lead me to believe it was your sibling. Indeed, your niece Evanthe has made something of a name for herself. Serving the First Empire of Rokkenjima and marrying into the Royal Family of Seaforth. Rhodes that is, not Cameron or Branaghan."

Kravec catches the sharp eye movements of interest...

"Ah, that caught your attention, did it? The Republic has fallen. Your daughter Beatrice did what you could not...with the help of Alex Rowe and Henry Cole that is. I was truly frightened that day or I thought I was, until I received a second call, more chilling than the first."

"Oh yes, I will never forget 2013, when the Empress Beatrice told me 'keep her'. I guess she rather likes being Empress and thought playing second to you would cramp her style. Now, six years later, we have another problem. Beatrice has in turn, betrayed me. I won't bore you with the fine details, but I knew I could not stand being blackmailed so I have spent these last years removing Rokkenjiman influence in Slava Lavosk and moving forward to secure my country against your daughters threats. I have now done so. Which brings us to your situation. With the treat of Beatrice now irrelevant, I see no need to keep you in your previous condition. I will be completely honest however...I don't know what to do with you. For now though, you will stay here. You will be treated well as you recover from your ordeal, though the outside world will be restricted to you. After what was inflicted on you, I fear it would be too much too fast and you need time to process."

As Kravec started to the door, a nurse wheeled a breakfast tray in. The smell of fresh Quintellian coffee reached her immediately as the nurse revealed a tray of scones and a small jar of Rokkenjiman honey. As the nurse left, Kravec paused at the doorway.

"Enjoy your breakfast, Cecelia."

Regent of Vaguzia,  Vicenzo Delacroix-Bruguière
Prince of Vaguzia, Théodore Leonardo Fabiane Gabriel Delacroix
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Vaguzia, Aaron Kaalit

It is indeed a long overdue discussion for our two great nations to have as I believe we have much to offer each other.  I look forward to visiting Vaguzia and speaking in person about our mutually bright future.

Warm Regards,

Andrew III
King of Seaforth and the Trojan March

The Republic of Slava Lavosk extends our heartfelt thanks to the nations and leaders across Mundus who have expressed empathy and compassion in their issued statements regarding the immense pressure and threat my beloved country finds itself under. As the world has witnessed the Rokkenjiman and Tamoran Empires seeks to crush us by any means, legal or illegal, that they can employ...recruiting such boot licking sycophants to their purpose as they may.

Our sincere thanks go out to The Conglomerate who has stated they will defy this illegal and insidious blockade of Slava Lavosk. It is my wish that we can meet in peace to ensure the survival of my nation. Therefore, I pledge a delegation of Slavans, headed by Markus Bathory, will attend the talks in Paracambi under their pledge of security. I rescind my demand for $250,000,000 Dinar in gold bullion and accept both the offered life insurance offered by the SCIF  and line of credit offered by Nya Aland.

I find it ironic that two of the three nuclear powers on mundus talk to me of peace and a way forward in a non-nuclear mundus when you clearly have benefitted from becoming nuclear powers yourself. I have attacked nor threatened any specific nation yet I am met with threats and hostility. I have, in fact, been kinder in my dealings with the Tamorans than King David has been with Kyle Barren and the Borlanders. So here is my response.

To The First Empire Of Rokkenjima. Blockade all you want. There are nations in Mundus that see us as brightly as the stars on our flag and will continue to trade with us, such as the Conglomerate and reported by Maxime Anginer in his recent article in the Defense Journal. As to your threat, I echo it back to you. The use of nuclear weapons by Rokkenjima against any nation, for any reason, will be met with a response in kind.

To the Kingdom Of East Moreland. You responded with less blood and fire and so will I. The Sea of Kyne is a lovely place and we welcome your ships to the Midaranye. We couldn't care less about the Celtic Protectorate, so deploying there is irrelevant. As for the CNN... in a massive amount of arrogance, they think they own the moon and can shoot missiles at it without permission from, well, anyone else...so they can fuck right off.

Now to all of Mundus... I am not an unreasonable man. I understand for the need to talk with our neighbours. I accept the offer to attend talks in Parcambi. I extend an invitation to any nation that wishes to attend. This will not be a closed session of the powerful only. I am also not stupid enough to go myself. Not at this time. A slavan delegation will attend, the members to be determined. We will however need assurances. With the blockade and threats and what have you, travel is both dangerous and expensive. To secure our involvement we would need a transfer of $250,000,000 Dinar of gold bullion. Call it 5 Dinar for every slave you still haven't done anything about. Said transfer can be made in the Sea of Kyne by all those ships you people are sending over.

Regards,

Kravec
