“Papa! My feet hurt! Can we please rest?” Sweet, sweet, Gerda. The voice of young girl seemingly echoed through-out the Oropovo as she made her request well known, though practically blurting it out. Still even in her irritated state she had the grace to keep to her manners, her please drawn out and exaggerated. It was enough to cause Alden to allow himself a small smile, and even though he would never openly admit it, was ultimately what won him over. It was funny in a way normally he’d take his daughter of eight years on long extended hikes in the surrounding areas of their village. She seemed to enjoy herself so much then. Back when things were more…stable. Alden looked to his daughter who was now lagging behind whether intentionally or due to genuine fatigue he could no longer. With a small sigh he waited for her to catch up and gently placed his arm around her shoulders, running a finger across her cheek guiding a small bundle of loose hair back behind her ear. Even now despite her obvious frustration with the whole situation, she still managed to conjure a small smile as she clasped on to her father’s hand.

“Oh come now, little lily. You used to love going on adventures! Where’s that adventures spirt eh?”

“But Papa, this adventure is taking toooo long! Besides there’s nothing to see up here but boring rocks and shrubs…”

“Ha, ha, ha! Okay, tell you what. Why don’t we take a seat right over there on that boulder and you can sing me that song Mrs. Oddette taught you while check on ol’ Ida?” Ida had been the third member of their little trio. A fine Nueva Ardian Criollo cow with a spattered pattern of light tan and white. As Alden understood it, they were brought over from Ardia in the early days of colonial period and quickly became favored over the Tytorian Southmark mainly due to the docility. Not that any of that matter much anymore. Ida had been the last remains of Alden’s financial legacy one built on the hard work of tilling the Oropovo’s soil and caring for the cattle of the village. Now all that was left of his herd was this singular stubborn cow. His Ida, his legacy, and Fulla willing, what would provide him and his daughter with a future.

“But I don’t know all the words yet! You can’t sing if I don’t know all the words, Papa.”

“You can’t, huh? Well, I don’t believe that! Here, why don’t you hum it out first then the words will come along. Plus, you have such a lovely voice Gerda. A’int that right Ida?” A simply Moo sounded from the cow. Probably answering more to the sound of its name than the proposed question, still it was enough to earn a giggle out of Gerda and that was more than enough for Alden

“Papa!”

My sweet, sweet Gerda. As the girl began humming, Alden took the time to look over the cow. So far she looked healthy enough and none of the signs were obvious on it, hell out of the three of them Ida was probably the least bothered by the trek probably just as excited as ever to finally see whatever lies beyond the fence. In a way Alden envied the creature. No worries about the future, no past to haunt it, not nights filled with anxiety about how to provide for its child. Just blissfully unaware and content. Ignorant that numerous of its fellow bovines across the country were dropping like flies, and no one seemed to know why or what to do. Including Alden.

It was why the three of them had left their little village, their home. Their paradise on earth that was one of many of the Orpovo’s valleys, as humble as it may have been. Now they had to make a last-ditch effort to trek from their village through the Oropovo, to the east. Possibly even leave the entire Ilirne plateau if necessary. All Aldren had to do was find someone, anyone, who would buy Ida off the him then he could find some respite in knowing he had a way to feed Gerda for a while until he found another job. That was all that mattered.

* * *

The had been walking for days now possibly even a week or two. No one, not a single person, was interested in Alden’s cow. Money was slowly running out, they were eating less and less each day, and more than anything they were tired. Even Ida was slowing in her pace now, while Gerda once a Jovial girl had now grown silent for the most part. Alden took no pleasure in accepting the charity of others. How could he, it was his duty to provide for his child. His sole purpose in this world, and now he could no longer even mange that. Yet, he no longer was in control of such things. Alden now had to swallow his pride and hide his shame whenever Gerda sought his comfort.  They had managed to find themselves in some other mountain side village nothing too fancy, but it had a small pub which doubled as something of a common house and at this point Alden didn’t care to budget anymore. Money was going to run out eventually, and at this rate far before they left this damn plateau.

At this realization Alden forcefully slammed his mug on the table out of frustration, causing his daughter to jump at the sudden outburst.

“Pa..”

“…sorry, Lily. Papa’s just…thinking is all.” Alden simply sighed. It was clear the girl wouldn’t be satisfied with this vague and avoidant response. She was worried. What was worse, she was worried about him. Damn it all, this isn’t how its supposed to be!

As dusk had settled Alden had managed to make arrangements with the patron of the common house, Lucretia, who was charming women and understanding enough. From what Alden had gathered from her he was not the only one with this predicament, the village had seen a fair share of financial refugees pass out east. Apparent afflicted with the same fate Alden had. It was because of this Lucretia was willing enough to allow them to stay in her edifice. Much to Alden’s further shame. Though at least Gerda seemed to take a liking to Lucretia, who in turn reciprocated the feeling.

“Hey Lily, why don’t you go see if Mrs. Lucretia needs any more help in the kitchen, ja? I’m just going to take a… walk.”

“But what about Ida?” The girl whined appalled that their fellow traveler would be left alone.

“Yes, yes, I’ll take Ida with me. Gonna need someone to keep me eh” Alden replied, to the satisfaction of his daughter who promptly skipped her way to Lucretia humming along the way. Even now, when she clearly was tiring, she managed to muster the energy to appear jovial even if Alden new it to be a façade. At least he knew she would be safe, for now.

* * *

The suns orange glow sprawled across the skey clashed with the darkening blue of the coming night creating a varying mesh of pinks and purples. Had things been normal Alden would’ve taken these twilight walks to relax before bed. Now all he could do was try and combat his racing mind filled with thoughts of frustration, desperation, and anxiety. The occasionally ‘moo’ and steady beating of Ida’s hooves on the path just barley keeping him from outright breaking down. Eventually Alden allowed himself to collapse upon the side of a while. It was only from the sporadic shuffling of Ida’s hooves that Alden then noticed the figure before him. A Teuton like himself and flashing Alden an unnatural smile.

“My, my, Kumpel, that’s a fine one there!” The man began, gesturing towards Ida.

“Not seen many as healthy as that one. Well not really seen any, to be honest. Er-alive, anyway.” As he continued he slowly moving closer to Alden and his cow.

“I suppose not. Don’t suppose you’re from around here?”

"Suppose you could say that. I’m a bit of a… collector see. And you, Kumpel, have a mighty fine prize there…” Before Alden could even react, the stranger already had a gun at head. The cold uncaring metal of the muzzle pressing into his temple, ever threatening to make his world go dark.

So, it was, the case of Alden Behrend would be one of many. A mere statistic of a larger issue. The dreaded Yellowtounge Illness.

OOC Notes:
1.Kumpel: German for friend, but more along the lines of 'buddy' and less cordial.

Foreign Nationals Released: Ibueri

Three Foreign nationals were released from detainment today. Maxence Delarue & Jean Pichon, both from the Republic of Fleur, and Aldric Leutwin, from the Federal Union of Jugland, were released from the Ilirne detainment center among others. The three individuals were apprehended by local authorities following their suspected involvement in political activism in the form of demonstrations against the Government of Ibueri within the town of Illirne. Branded as foreign agents and officially accused of acting "with intent to undermine the authority of, and threaten the unity of, the country" the three were promptly detained by authorities following a clash between law enforcement agents a demonstrators.

Within Ibueri it is illegal to engage in any organization, gathering, or assembly with intent to publicly criticizes the Government or the Bilyar, with many such breaches often resulting in prompt disruption by local authorities and subsequent prisons sentences. The release of the three offending individuals is an act many within the country itself, and international observers, have deemed "uncharacteristic" for a government often criticized as "authoritarian". Even more unusual, the release of the three individuals, and of native Ibuerian activists is reported to have been a direct request from the office of the Bilyar himself, an official letter of pardoned dawning the leaders signature securing the their release.

Whether an act of genuine judicial mercy or the machinations of politicking not yet known, the act is a potential sign of a new shift in domestic policy for Ibueri. As for the three now freed foreign nationals, part of the official pardoning calls for the three  individuals to voluntarily leave the country by the end of the week or otherwise be deported.

Tensions along Issong-Quom border rise amid village massacre

The village of of Kuniatiat, located a few kilometers from the border between the Quoum-Issong border has met with tragedy in what is being deemed and ethnically charged massacre of this inhabitants.  According to survivors of the incident, numerous unmarked vans and trucks entered the village during the late hours of the night breaking into the homes of its inhabitants and systematically killing them. The Aggressors also seemingly burned down buildings and caused destruction to various buildings in the village. It seems none were spared as the eldest of the victims has been identified to be aged 77 while the youngest is believed to be aged 8, among the fatalities are five local Issong law enforcement agents. News of the massacre has caused a surge in protests and demonstrations throughout the Issong region and even in Dzunho. Many of these Demonstrations attribute the massacre to the Congressional Assembly of Quom in what is being called an "unspoken yet sanctioned act of violence." The Quom Congressional Assembly has vehemiantly refuted these claims condemning the incident as "horrific and abhorrent". The Quome Congressional Assembly has also issued a regional order calling for an immediate investigation into the matter, declaring that the "perpetrators will be brought to swift and unwavering justice" . The Congressional Assembly of Issong has likewise launched its own ivestigation.

The massacre is believed to be related to a recent surge in ethnically motivated acts of violence along the border, though both regional law enforcement agencies have noted this particular incident is the most brutal and methodical act they have thus far come across. Protesters in addition to laying blame to Quom, are also decrying the Central Government of Dzunho as being negligent and incapable of protecting them. With recent threats of the northern Ikuiat region potentially seeking to secede  from the commonwealth many political observers believe, should the ethnic issues along the Quom Issong border be dealt with, the south west may see similar threats.

Tensions along the Quom-Issong border have historically been an issue that has affected the region prior to the signing of the Pact of Yrtnoz and the formation of the Commonwealth. Though the Central Government and Regional Congressional Assemblies have managed to lessen the tensions, the new spike in incidents along the border, is believed to be due to a border dispute between the two regions which has been heightened as both Regions have seen a rise in settlement along the border region, itself seen as a rich region for agricultural exploitation, which has formed the foundation for each of the region's economies.

The Central Government in Dzuhno has equally condemned the action but has yet to announce any State-sponsored investigation delegating the action to each of the regional's local Law Enforcement agencies though has announced its willingness to provide what support may be needed to assist in each regions investigation.

Press Offices / Condemnation of Achkaerin and Rokkenjima Deployments
« on: February 14, 2021, 05:08:52 AM »
Commission of International Affairs

The Commonwealth recognizes the situation within the Empire of Parbhani as a solely domestic affair and one that is within the sovereign jurisdiction of the Parbhani Government and those the Government seeks to invite, none others. As such The Commonwealth strongly condemns the actions taken by the First Empire of Rokkenjiman, and the Holy Empire of Achkaerin, in deploying naval assets to the region under the guise "to see the Great Northern Sea maintain its peace and tranquility”. These actions are recognized by the Commonwealth as provocative and intrusive to the respect and sovereignty of the Empire of Parbhani and as such the Commonwealth fully supports The Maharajadhiraja and his government’s actions in deploying their own naval assets for the defense of their country and sovereignty.

It is of great concern to the Commonwealth that the Empire of Achkaerin and the Empire of Rokkenjima have seemingly ]worked together to take these actions before reaching out to the Government of Parbhani, nor seeking to address the issue through mutual discourse. While it is respected that the Empire of Rokkenjima and Empire of Achkaerin have prearranged agreements and shared interest in and around the “QCMB” military base area, the Commonwealth is greatly concerned that the two Empire's would, seemingly, deem the whole of the Great Northern Ocean apart of these interests. As such the Naval Assests of the KSG shall be put on high alert until the naval deployments are recalled.

Politics in Kopsje functions within the framework of a Representative Republic under a parliamentary system, in which the State Parliament is the highest organ of state authority. Kopsje is internationally classified as semi-federal Republic and is comprised of nine constituent region states and the municipality city of Dzunho. Officially each of the nine regions are classified as constituent states and are united by a document known as the Pact of Yrntoz which is seen as the founding document of the contemporary Kopsje state. Theoretically each Region is granted a degree of autonomy and respected in their regional ethnic makeup and practices. In recent decades, the State Parliament has slowly gained more political power over the Regions which has become the subject of fierce debate amongst the Members of the State Parliament, and regional Congressional Assemblies.

The State Parliament
The State Parliament of Kopsje is the unifying organ of power in country it is comprised of 178 seats each elected from the various regions via universal suffrage for all citizens of the commonwealth aged 20 and older.  Of the 178 seats 18 are automatically allocated for each region, and act as the seat for Regional Delegates. Each Region is granted two delegate Seats and are meant to give bipartisan voice to their individual districts needs. The other 160 seats of the parliament are decided in a State Election, in which individuals throughout the Country are elected, usually on a partisan platform, every 5 years.

The primary function of the State Parliament is to represent Kopsje as a political entity with foreign countries, by signing trade agreements, military treaties, handling the relations of foreign countries, and determining whether the country and its regions will adhere to international treaties. In recent decades, the Power of the Parliament has expanded to draft and enact legislation that would be federally adhered to by each Region. This has been something that has been the subject of fierce debate within Kopsje Political circles. Kopsje as a singular political entity does not have a recognized head of state or government. Instead, the Parliament is seen as the supreme authority in the country, while various Commissions are established by the Parliament to handle specialized areas of governance and authority such as the Commission of International Affairs & the Commission of State Agricultural Harmony.

The concept of Political Parties is a relatively new concept in the Parliament of Kopsje instead political lines being drawn along likeminded agendas in the form of Parliamentary Factions. As of the current Parliament two factions dominate, these being the Integrationists & the Regionalists. Respectively the Integrationists have a political culture of supporting a more centralized government and promoting Commonwealth Culture often seen at the expense of the nine Regions. In Contrast the Regionalists have a political culture of supporting devolutionist policies and promoting the autonomy of each Region, often seen of as a state of weakening the Country as a whole. Of the Seats in parliament 56 seats are held by the Integrationists, while 54 are held by the Regionalists; 18 are automatically granted to each of the nine regions, 2 per region, and 49 are held by independents.

Diplomacy and Events / Re: A way out (Kopsje and Tamora)
« on: February 10, 2021, 01:42:38 AM »
Undisclosed Location
South of Dzunho

The Tamorans desired a private venue. It was something Ijuklo found curious but not blind to the wisdom behind. Such concepts were after all bountiful among the Houses and their dealing with each other. Every open agreement announced by one house or another, or even among political candidates and their opposition was done so in the foreground of various secret meetings the knowledge of their existence known only to its participants. In a way the Chairman was relived the Tamoran Minister had the foresight to request such an arrangement and was all to pleased to provide. It was for this reason that he himself would not attend the meeting in person instead he had chosen someone to represent him in his place.  The only problem was that there were to man to many prying eyes, to many individuals he dared not trust with this pivotal task. For every individual employed at the International affairs Commission half of them were agents for other houses or politicians their positions secured only through background agreements, and mutual understandings. Such was the way of Kopsje.  It was this reason that Piak xelaju Uyara was now seated before the Imperial delegation, one of the few individuals trusted by the Chairmen to, more or less not muck things up, and more importantly keep the discretion should things not turn not as expected;

“The pleasure is all ours I assure you…your Majesty? Forgive me, but I must admit I am not used to addressing individuals of such high esteem as yourself Zara, Safavid.” Paik spoke in a tone she hoped was cordial enough to express her apologies but also one that did not seek to presume. The Tamorans, be they as close as they were, geographically, were in all essence an entirely Foreign World. Yet from what Paik understood her guests and their homeland put particular importance on formalities and titles a concept not exactly lost to Kopsje but certainly not as common and vital as the Kangzi world perhaps. She hoped she had not offended their visitors already, but non the less allowed Alya to correct her before continuing.

“It is good of your people to understand the situation in the Gulf was not one Kopsje could take lightly. Granted, know that the reasoning is not lost to us. We understand your son, His Royal Highnesss, is to be wed to the Pharaoh and so that does put Tamora in a rather peculiar situation. That being said, I am glad to see Tamora is reasonable, and not blindly following the Pharaoh’s rhetoric and the young rulers… emotions shall we say. Should you be able to convince your military leaders and, perhaps through the Empire’s influence, the Pharaoh to back down, the International Commission will be able to influence the parliament to reciprocate the action.  It’s quite clear neither of our countries desire an armed conflict and with the situation in the norther ocean becoming more involved with foreign powers, it is perhaps in both our interests to be vigilante should they look to our own shores.”

Piak paused for a moment allowing the Tamoran delegation to deliberate among themselves should they feel the need to. As she did so Piak studied her counterpart discreetly. Everything about the Tamoran was exotic and new to her, from the way the Empress dressed to the mannerisms the members of their delegation exchanged. Piak had read about the region the Midarayane, as it was called, during the craze of the Mundus Games and all the drama associated with it. It was these thoughts that caused Piak to dwell on the Tamoran’s second proposal. Certainly, a country as large and wealthy as Tomora was not an easy option to pass up when it came to allies or at the very least mutual trading partners.

“I must admit the prospect of our countries working together is not one I can take lightly. While it is true Tamora has proven itself to be a relatively stable and strong partner for those close to your Empire, I hope you can understand why Kopsje would be cautious with such a proposal. While I do not suggest to question the validity of Tamora’s good intentions in Zimialia, I hope you cand understand why Tamora’s influence in that particular country is one that is met with alarm across Mundus. Many might suggest Tamora is effectively undermining Elwes’ government. These views are shared among certain individuals in our political circles. It is one thing to promote development, another to subtly take over a country with said influence, and a country as small yet divided as Kopsje….” Piak allowed her words to trail off, hoping her counterpart understood the concern she was making.

“Then there are other factors we must consider. Your countrymen practice an institutional system many in the Mundus view as, outdated. The general view in the Parliament is that it is of no concern to Kopsje what a country does domestically regardless of how… improper others may paint it. However, there is no denying a partnership between Kopsje and Tamora carries with it the possibility of our own country being one prone to sanctions and the ire of the International world. Should you be able to provide a way so as this risk is not an issue then many in the parliament would be more than willing to consider a partnership.”

With her piece said and done Piak sat back and allowed the Tamorans their turn, ready to discuss whatever proposals they may provide.

Bistro Magnolia
Dzunho Second District

Anijuk greeted the Achkaerinese with a friendly smile, taking his hand and returning the gesture. He was older than she would have expected, then again she wasn't one to normally meet with foreign dignitaries.

“Anijuk xelaju Illyano, a pleasure meet you Zaran, Calvin. House Illyano sends its warmest regards to you and your house, aswell as that of the good Ambassador. Would you happen to be hungry? Thirsty? I personally recommend the teas, best in the whole of the Second if I do say so myself. There is also a decent selection of coffee if that is more of your taste.” With this and seemingly on cue an attendant of the Bistro arrived ready to take the Calvin’s order, or lack of and clearing the table before leaving the two. Should he have looked around Calvin would notice the entirety of the Bistro Empty save for himself, Anijuk, and two attendants at the bistro.

“Now I’m sure your more than interested as to why this audience has been requested… I must be honest I find it quite curious myself. After all, as influential as the House is… to seek an audience individually and not through the Foreign office is quite strange no?” The woman spoke freely and cordially, as if she was chatting with a long not seen friend, taking a sip of her own tea every now and then. Finally it seemed like Anijuk was getting down to the actual business of it all.

“Oh look at me rattling on and on. I’m sure you’ve grown uninterested in my own small talk! Very well, to the business of things. As you and the good Ambassador may know the current situation in Kopsje is rather… tense. In no small part to that lovely High Priestess of yours!" As she said this Anijuk let out a small laugh, in an attempt to play the words off as a light hearted comment, hoping her visitor would not take offense.

"Well in any case, though she may have acted on her own accord her status and ties to your government paint a picture easily left to interpretation. Unfortunately, many in Kopsje chose a negative interpretation. House Illyano, happens to be of the opposite inclination the House also happens to hold Influence in the State Parliament…” Anijuk paused for a moment, taking another sip of her tea seemingly observing her guest. His body language, the way his eyes shifted with her words. Yet despite her best attempts she could not quite make out the Achkaerinese gentlemen. She had decided Calvin was something more than what he seemed. More than just a mere member of the Imperial diplomatic mission, but what? It was also at this moment the Bistro attendee would return presenting Calvin with his chosen refreshments before departing again. Perhaps it was best not to know Anijuk thought to herself.

“The House would like to see this more isolated and negative view of the foreign world replaced with the potential for a policy of international cooperation. Unfortunately, as we are both aware the current Parliament has decided to enact policies that only further hurt the image of our country through-out the Mir. Now if certain individuals were persuaded to, retire, from the parliament there could be potential for a fresh view in polices. Policies that could bring Kopsje onto the right course so to say. Maybe even closer to our neighbors.  Of course, the question then is, how would our neighbors view such a shift?” With that Anijuk finished her peace. She hoped Calvin understood her implication, and allowed the gentleman to give his thoughts.

Protests sweep the country
Newly formed protests and demonstrations have spread across all corners of the country. As of yet these newly fledged protests bear no relations to those in objection of the Religious Restriction Laws. Instead, the new demonstrations are seemingly calling on the Central Government to address the increasingly fragile economic situation that has started to affect the country. With a mysterious viral infection affecting animals worldwide, known as the “Yellow Tongue Virus”, the cattle industry has been particularly vocal about their concerns with the congressional assemblies of Nunatatiok, Unnugach, and Quviarsuk, publicly making their concerns known to the Commonwealth Parliament. Their Respective MP in Dzunho have raised the issue to the Parliament and are believed to be forming a temporary faction united in need to address the situation. Despite this many through the regions believe it may already be to late, with an untold number of cases already affecting the three regions heavily. Of note Nunatatiok has seemingly been the most affected by the fallout of the virus, home to various nomadic peoples who make their livings off of herding cattle around the region’s flatlands, there has been a recent surge in migration from the region to others, something that has caused something of tensions between neighboring regions. The Parliament has made public announcements that addressing the Virus will be among its priorities in the coming weeks, many however feel this is too late and a shafted response.

It is not just the cattle industry that has been affected, the regions of Pukaq, and Pitsiq, have also been vocal about their concerns regarding the continuing decline of the coal industry in the country. Forming the basis of the far eastern region’s economies the coal industry has been in a gradual yet concerning decline since the early 1970’s. With international motivations to move away from fossil fuels and utilize “green energy” alternatives, the reliance on coal will continue to decline coupled with international sanctions against Kopsje causing many in the east to grow increasingly anxious over the developing situation. The Congressional Assemblies of both Pukaq and Pitsiq making public statements in their intentions to urge their Parliamentary Representatives to form a faction and bring the issue to the State Parliament in Dzunho.

Regardless of the Situation, protests are gripping the country in every province with some stating their intent to march on the Capitol in a peaceful manner to demand action from what many, among the protesters, believe is a government that has largely ignored them. The Authority & Administration Council of Dzunho, the legal authority of the State Capital, has made no comment in regards to the planned marches, though many speculate in the coming days lockdowns in the city will cause a great deal of problems between the two.

Ikuiat Revokes Religious Restrictions
The Congressional Assembly of Ikuiat, has voted in an overwhelming majority to revoke the State Parliament enacted: Religious Restriction Laws, in a move unprecedented. In an overwhelming majority vote the Regional Congressional Assembly has revoked the mandate of Dzunho, declaring the laws non-applicable within the region of Ikuiat. Known as one of the more spiritually inclined of the nine regions, this action is largely believed to intentionally provocative, against Dzunho as the two have clashed regularly on  religious policy though often such issues have resulted in the enactments said policy by virtue of an all region-state wide vote  in favor of Dzunho. Dzunho Radio Reporters where granted access into the halls of the Parliament to inquire about the action with Zaran, Nirliq xelaja Mhuaq, Parliamentary Representative for Ikuiat, she had the following statement.

Nirliq xelaja Mhuaq:
“Perhaps it is time for the failed dream of Kopsje to come to an end. The Pact was never meant to function as anything more than a mutual defensive treaty to bring our diverse peoples together to repel foreign aggressors should the worst have happened. Even then it can be argued such a goal was failed. Now we have allowed the goal of the pact to be overshadowed by the Dream of Kopsje, evolving into a tool to control the various regions.   The Congressional Assembly of Ikuiat, and by extension the people of Ikuiat have sent a strong message. That it is time for the Pact to come to an end, and for our peoples to once again take control of our own destinies, this recent legislation and its fallout being a clear sign…”

The statement indicates that political tensions between Ikuiat and Dzunho have come to a forefront with blatant threats of secession. Secessionist movements have always been an issue that have troubled Kopsje, with the most infamous being the Crisis of Pukaq in which a secessionist rebels managed to control over half of the Pukaq Region establishing a short lived, unrecognized, independent Republic based out of the city of Qaqornat. The crisis was ended when a State force was sent into the region to reestablish control of the separatist territories. Though many within the Parliament have claimed this to be evidence that unity is necessary many through the Congressional Assemblies have voiced grievances over sending their own defense forces to address an issue, many consider, not of their own Regions importance. Though it is doubtful a new crisis of similar vein will be repeated, the message is certainly provocative and gives a voice to an increasing faction of Secessionists within the State Parliament. Political analysts suspect the Parliament will enact a Parliamentary State Order, overriding the Ikuiat Congress, citing state security.

Violence along Quom-Issong border; suspected to be ethnically motivated
In recent weeks a large surge in violent acts have been carried out along the Quom-Issong border ranging to property damage, brawls, and even murder. The recent surge in Violence is believed to be related to a long-standing land dispute between the two regions and recently be motivated by ethnic differences. The two regions have historically clashed over the disputed land even before the formation of the Pact and Kopsje. However, when the union was formed, the violence was replaced for political dispute though allowing for an era of relative peace, the dispute came to a boiling point with each region’s respective Regional Guard deployed along the border in what many assumed would end in a bloody conflict. However a joint effort by the Congressional Assemblies of Yrntoz and Unnugach as well as their representatives in the Parliament were able to qualm tensions peacefully. Many in the Parliament and among the Congressional Assemblies have citied this as clear reason for the continuation of Unity. The Regions of Issong and Quom are the most agriculturally oriented regions relying heavily of farming and cash crops to maintain their regional economies and thusly have become among the humblest of Kopsje’s regions. With an increasing population throughout the whole of the country the two regions have often struggled to supply the State with enough food, competing with each other as well as the harsh winters of the North Aryane. Increasing importation of foreign food stuffs have also hurt the two regions, causing many in the State Parliament to consider increasing tariffs of foreign products. Dzunho has made an official announcement that KSG forces will be deployed in the region to work closely with each Region’s respective Guard to maintain the peace.

Dzunho Radio strongly recommends our foreign friends and visitors alike avoid the region in the meanwhile.

Zaran: An Honorific title
Xelajua: meaning kin of house
KSG: Kopsje State Guard, a country wide defense force with legal enforcement powers. Recruited among all regions and largely acts as the countries de facto Military.
Region Guard: Region specific law enforcement agencies. Usually recruited along ethnic lines and exclusively within the region.

Office International Affairs of Kopsje,
Chairman Ijuklo’s office, Dzunho First District

“Well what do you make of it?” The hoarse voice of Ijulklo marked one who had engaged in the leisurely smoking of tobacco. Indeed, his own office had subtly succumbed to the odor of the cigarettes almost as if the Chairman had marked this office as ‘his territory’. The smell had rushed over Eska upon his entrance to the office assaulting his nostrils even now as he sat in one of the lounge chairs.

“It is quite peculiar, no? Give up the Kangzi, warmup to the Slaver Empire thus keeping the Pharaoh in check but potentially aggravate the Azurwind.” As Eska spoke it was clear he was thinking about it more himself than to his colleague. Something Ijulklo was quick to pick up. These ‘personal assessments’ were something he had, begrudgingly, become familiar with. Especially with the escalation of this so called ‘crisis’. His own office being host to members of the various houses rather than foreign ambassadors or dignitaries, in recent months. Nonetheless he allowed the ‘Zaran’ to contemplate the message on his own, taking the liberty of lighting up a cigarette.

“Have you brought this to the parliament?” was all that was spoken by Eska  after a few moments pause. A question that caused Ijulklo to scoff, allowing a plume of smoke to escape his thick lips. He stared at his guest, taking another hit of his cigarette before answering.

“Fuck the parliament! They’re as dysfunctional as ever, they’ll argue over this for a month, maybe two. B‘sides, word is House Illyano is trying to levy support against them. Create a Kopsje that ‘embraces the Kangzi world in the name of economic prosperity’. Bah!”

The tone in the Chairman’s voice made it clear he was speaking less as an agent of the Government and more as a disgruntled citizen. It was a response Eska  was expecting or at the very least something similar. After all Eska knew Ijulklo. He knew the man was a fond smoker, something that caused a great debate over whether he should even be awarded the position in the first place. He knew his favorite brand of poison happened to come from Quintelia which in of itself was peculiar. Most importantly Eska knew that the Foreign Minister had relations to the house of Amhjuq, a house which had earned the reputation of being quite ‘nationalist’, or as nationalist as a Kopsje could be; the word holding a skewed meaning in their language. It was this last bit of knowledge that was most vital.

“Yes, a Kopsje dominated by House Ilyano certainly is…distasteful. You didn’t answer my question though. Iljulklo.” Eska  replied in a calm and collected tone. It was a tone of distinctness, one that irked Iljulklo to no end, dancing the fine line between arrogance and disinterest. Clearing his throat in a subtle sign of irritation Iljulklo took another puff of his cigarette before answering.

“No. I did not. Figured given House Mhuaq’s, interest, in the current situation…” As he said this the Chairman rolled his cigarette in his hands allowing his words to trail off as he did so. The two men silently acknowledged each other, a gesture that indicated the brewing of a machination. Such was the way of Kopsjense politics.

Honorable Head of Foreign Affairs,

Your message is well received, the situation unfolding is indeed an unfortunate one with various ramifications that our countrymen did not foresee being of great interest beyond our borders. Know that all individuals within Kopsje are afforded the same rights and liberties as citizens of Kopsje and equally are expected to observe the same laws and regulations emplaced by our governing body. In this regard Ms. Hafsah is being held in accordance with the law of Kopsje. However, your interest in the situation is noted, as is the objection by the Clysperi State. I hope you can understand, as a stateswoman and member of your country’s government, that the military actions taken by the Clysperi Airforce of a blatant provocative manner and as such Kopsje must respond in kind for the defense of our own people and assests.

It is good to know the Empire of Tamora seeks de-escalation, as Kopsje is in a similar mindset. However your request for the release of Ms. Hafsah, as well as the preferential treatment for individuals of particular religious backgrounds must currently be denied.  I understand our respective systems of governance are different, however as this is the case I cannot make any sort of agreement on this particular request without the specific authority of the Parliament. You have cited the actions taken by Achkaerin to which Kopsje has noted and responded in kind given the current circumstances, however with the authority of the Parliament.

Your request for an avenue of communication is accepted and reciprocated. With this I should formally like to invite either yourself or a representative of your government to Kopsje, or alternatively request approval for a diplomatic to your great country, to continue talks and potential negotiations to achieve continued de-escalation which may entail revisiting your request.

Respectfully yours,
Ijuklo xelaju Amhjuq
(Ijuklo, kinsmen of house, Amhjuq)

Dzunho Post

Defiance continues throughout the fifth district of the Capitol. Initiated with public demonstrations through out the week of the December 20th and continuing to the present, the demonstrations consist of various organized protest groups intentionally action in violation of the recent Religious Restriction Law enacted by the Parliament of the Republic. From Odinists to Christians, political groups to religious organizations, the streets of the fifth district were filled with various symbols and icons positioned for all to see a clear message of defiance and refusal to comply with the legal provisions in place calling for a restriction and ban of religious symbols in public areas within the Republic. The display is just one in a seeming series of acts to challenge the legal authorities over the new law and as some would suggest the right to religious freedom. Though a potential show of unity in diversity and calling for a singular voice to ‘defend the people’s liberties and Religious freedom’ in a manner that encompasses numerous individuals of various faiths, the action was decried by Authority representatives as: ‘dangerously inflammatory’ referencing the fragile situation of the fifth and cautions of a worsening situation in all districts of the Republic’s political Capitol.

The fifth district has come under perpetual lockdown with regular patrols of KSG, local security forces, occurring through out the streets of the district. Many in the nations Parliament, the political authority of the country, have voiced concerns over continuing civil unrest in the district and the increasingly militarized presence of the KSG within the district. The district itself is seen as a symbol of the civil disobedience and has become something of a spiritual symbol of Defiance for the opposition groups that appear to be present throughout the city. Despite increasingly active acts of defiance against law enforcement the Authority & Administration Council of Dzunho, the cities central authority organization, has remined steadfast in their actions to enforce what a City Spokesperson stated as ‘the law as passed by the Parliament, and so unquestionable’. Indeed, enforcement of the law has become more prominent with a city-wide lockdown in effect and regular raids resulting in the detainment of ‘provocative figures’. One such figure is the Clypseri, and foreign student, Hafsah, who was detained by law enforcement for breaching the Restriction Law, resisting arrest, and inciting unlawful actions. Currently she is being held in the Pamak Detention Center, within the Second district, where she will be held as a legal prisoner for one year.

The Authority & Administration Council of Dzunho has made a public statement declaring their intention to detain various individuals deemed ‘ringleaders & agitators’ of the various demonstration groups. Among these individuals are Clerics of the Namist, Christian, Clysperi-Kemetic, and Odinist faiths. KSG forces have also began a citywide operation to forcibly remove demonstrators and restore the peace within the City.

Yrket, Outskirts of Dzunho

“Hrm…” the agent grunted, vocalizing his disappointment at the sight of the produced documents. He swiped the documents out of the young namists hand, taking no care for the young woman’s response. Fullfilling his duty, or feigning to do so, the agent mearly skimmed over the documents. His quick eye motions only stopping every so often to look over the required compliances.

“So you do, so...you...do…”He mumbled more to himself than anyone else. Once satisfied with the documents he carelessly handed the documentation back to the young namist.

“Best not to cause any problems, yes?” His words directed more as a stern warning than any question. He opened his mouth again as if to speak but then paused before grabbing his radio close to his ear. The language spoken in a local Kyrzunese dialect, something the girls may or may not have understood depending on their time in Kopsje.

"Another one?" One of the agents asked no one in particular.

The two agents looked at each other with looks mixed between annoyance and confusion. As the radio chatter died down the two KSG made their way towards the nearby train station hurried in their pace.

Bistro Magnolia - Shimmering City
Dzunho Second District

The second district was often called the shimmering city, on account of the edifices being built almost exclusively of white limestone. Supposedly should one view the district from the Yrntoz  the reflection of light upon the white stone structures would make the district seemingly shimmer. Anijuk wasn’t sure she believed in the supposed illusion yet there was no real doubt that the second district was in some way the proverbial Gem of Dzunho. It was here that most of the influential denizens of the city, and to some degree, the whole of Kopse, called their home. It was perhaps this factor along with the alluring view colour of the district that made it the prime location to house the various forign embassies.

That is what brought Anijuk to The Second. There was no denying the current situation had garnerd international attention. Attention many in Kopsje felt was intrusive. As for Anijuk herself, she would not deny her disinterest in the Kangzi world or their supposed need to shape the world in their concepts of right and wrong. But it was not her place to make such judgements known. Instead she was here on behalf of another, a lady from house Ilyano. One who held great interest in a Kangiz point of view on the current situation.

The Bistro Magnolia was  a nice enough eatery located in one the many plazas in the Second District. It Was here Anijuk had been seated enjoying freshly made Tomato crostata complimented by a cup of tea. The aroma of freshly brewed herbs filling the immediate atmosphere. It was a calming sensation potentially meant to create a relaxing atmosphere. For the meeting to come, or perhaps simply by chance. Only Anijuk knew. The stage was ready, the troupe soon to be as well. The only missing piece, an Achkaerinese gentleman known by the name of Nick Thawites. The Imperial Ambassador. Weather it was the gentleman himself or one of his own representative remained to be seen.

Mounting Tensions
The recent political tension over a controversial law passed in the parliament of Kopsje has become a topic of great divisiveness both within the Government and the views of the populace. Following the Country’s implementation of the law, which effectively saw the prohibition of participation in organized religion by Kopsjenese citizens aged twelve and younger, as well as the banning of religious symbology in public areas; Kopsje has been the target of international condemnation and recently heightened political tensions with nearby countries, including the Empire of Achkaerin and the Kingdom of Clysperis. Following a public announcement by High Priestess Alexis Minette, the religious leader of the Cult of Namis, the Parliament of Kopsje declared the religious figure “Persona Non-Grata” banning her from entry into the country. Though events have yet to escalate beyond this point as of now, political observers are keeping an eye on the situation, some declaring a escalation of tensions between the two leading to a political climate within the Northern Arayne region not seen sense the influence of the USR.

While the political turbulence between the Republic and the Empire has managed to come to a lull, tensions between Kopsje and Clysperis continue to escalate. Recently a young Clysperi national, Hafsah, was sentence to imprisonment on grounds of attempting to assault a member of Law enforcement with a weapon. The detainment of Hafsah was met with condemnation by the Kingdom. The words of the Pharaoh were seemingly followed by a group of Clysperi military aircraft  buzzing the Airspace of the Republic though officially declared a “a routine operation” by Clypseri military spokesperson’s the move was seen as an aggressive action by the Republic of Kopsje leading to  a cease in trading, and the barring of Clypseri commercial vessels from docking in Kopsjense ports.

Recently the Empire of Tamora has voiced their support for Clysperi actions via an address by Ayla Safavid, Head of the Tamoran Foreign Office, and “Mother of the Nation”. An announcement was also made that joint Tamoran-Clysperi military exercises were to be held in the Gulf of Safrean. The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, Kopsje, made the following response regarding the planned military exercises:

” While the Kingdom of Clypseris is drawn to violence, with itself, its neighbors, and the international world, The Republic of Kopsje is not so jingoistic. The Republic will strive to prevent the path to potential conflict; however, we shall not stand idly by as a foreign power engages in such an aggressive manner as the Kingdom under the warmongering queen Akasha. The Kingdom and their supporters are free to engage in whatever actions they wish in the Gulf of Safrean, however like all actions, these will have dire consequences should the Kingdom continue down this path. “

It is unsure how exactly the Republic will respond as, prior to the escalation of tensions, the Tamoran Empire was considered one the Republic’s larger trading partners. However some believe the Parliament will enact counter-tariffs against the Empire, others speculate a potential military response, while some have described the heightened escalation as bearing similarities to the Slava Lavosk-Tamoran Border tensions of previous years. Some have warned continued “economic-warfare”, as its being termed, will only further harm the economic situation of the region as the recent “Yellow Tongue” epidemic has yet to be fully addressed.

Clashes erupt across Dzunho
Supporters of the new Religious Restriction Law have made their presence known, conducting counter protests and demonstrations against those who oppose the new law. Seeing activity in all districts of the Capitol city of Dzunho, protestors and counter-protester’s have met in numerous streets sections some resulting in clashes. The Dzunho Authority & Administration Council has made an announcement extending the curfew, enacted in the city’s fifth district, to all city districts citing the outbreak of clashes and violence overwhelming the local city KSG. It is unsure how long the Curfew will remain in place, though it is clear the divisive Law is having wide-spread repercussions.

The Other World / Opening Statment

Good People of this assembly! Today we are all called upon to address an issue of paramount import. Countries require finance in order to function, this is a simple concept yet one that is constantly questioned by those whom seek to undermine and neglect their civic duty! Taxation, is the basic component of a countries ability to function. For how can a government provide for its people without the funds to do so? Today the Republic of Kopsje has challenged, Mr…. Mrs? er-well… One, by the name of Aten.  The defendant, Aten, is in violation of Taxation fraud on numerous accounts. Aten has inhabited a large amount of Kopsje’s territorial  land, inhabitation which as far as the Republic is concerned has not been authorized by any land deed or grant. Yet despite their refusal to obtain proper documentation, by the mercy of the Parliament, Kopsje has allowed Aten to inhabit our lands as a respected guest. However despite this generosity, Aten refuses to pay a simple land fee, one which all citizens are required to pay for the betterment of our country and thus our fellow Kopsjense. Aten, is revered as a celebrity in certain countries, to the point, Aten has numerous properties within the Country of Altromine. Yet despite this excess of assets, the defendant refuses to uphold their civic duty. Such is an insult not only to the Republic but to all citizens on Mir who legally pay taxes to their respective governments.

The Republic also challenges Aten on their refusal to register their polaroid-bifocals as an item of religious properties. As the good people of this court will know, any individual within our Republic are required to register all items of religious nature upon entry into the country. With Aten’s consistent arrival and departure from Kopsje each day, they have neglected to register their polaroid-bifocals thus coming into clear breach of the laws established within our Republic. More so through their influence Aten has caused many individuals to dawn the religious article, potentially smuggling in such items into our country. In a usual instance this would simply be a matter of confiscating to offending item and both parties heading on their way, however on the insistence of the Defendant, the Republic shall hear their defense on why, such a religious item, is in fact a mere article of an accessory nature.

The Republic shall yield the floor to the defendant.

Secretariat of Foreign Affairs

The Republic of Kopsje condemns the actions taken by the Royal Clysperi Air Force, which are both intentionally provocative and dangerous actions for all who utilize the gulf of Safrean. The republic also condemns the Pharoah of Clysperis for her sanctioning of dangerous military maneuvers and attempts to interfere in the domestic affairs of our republic.  While the Pharaoh may have deluded herself and her people, into believing herself a gift from unseen supernatural energies, the Republic of Kopsje will not tolerate such folly as an acceptable use of unnecessary aggression to interfere in our countries affairs. In response to these hostile actions against our Republic and endangering our people, The Republic, by will of the Parliament, will herby enact sanctions on the Kingdom of Clysperis. Any Vessel flying the flag of Clypseris will herby be refused entry into any port within Kopsje. Further The Republic shall cease all trading in goods between the Republic and the Kingdom.

Foreign Religious Leader banned from Kopsje
In a majority vote the Parliament of Kopsje has official labeled Achkaerinese national, and Cult of Namis Religious Authority, Alexis Minette, with the status of: Persona Non grata. This action effectively bans Ms. Minette from entering that nation in a legal manner. Regarding the implementation of this action Gjulberka Yusupov, Chairwoman of the New Kopsje Integration Movement, and effective leader of the Majority in the parliament had the following words:

“It is one thing to Condemn our policies, or place economic sanctions against our country. These are respectable, if unfortunate, consequences of international interaction. However, what cannot be tolerated, will not be tolerated, is the undermining of our Country and its legal agencies by foreign powers or individuals. This new law is a matter of Kopsjenese domestic policy, and not something for Kangzi countries or their leaders to dictate a change of”

In a surprise move it would appear the Group for Independence & Liberty, supported the action and voted with members of the NKIM leading to a clear majority vote on the action. Though the Majority parties managed to be united in this action, the vote was not unanimous with Third Parties providing the opposition in the vote. Leader of the National Rejuvenation Party, Tattilgat, had the following words regarding the situation:

“Let’s be clear there is no solid evidence that the High priestess was acting on the orders, or wishes, of any foreign power. Is it not the right of Religious communities to protect themselves? Or Perhaps the NKIM and GIL would consider those of particular faiths “nations”. Should then those who follow the Eternal Spirit be considered a “foreign Nation” in contrast to the rest of the Kopsjenese? What of the Orthodox Rus and Patriarch? Are they too to be considered a foreign nation, despite being legal Citizens of Kopsje? Know that this action is hardly representative of all of Kopsje, rather a knee jerk reaction by the dominant political factions to distract the populace of Kopsje away from their ineffectual policies.”

NKIM rallies garner Thousands in second day
Pimunek, Junior member of the NKIM has been the leading figure in a series of planned political rallies for his respective party. It has been the second day of said rallies, and thousands managed to show up, leading to some speculating that the recent actions, though divisive across Kopsje, have not hindered the support base of the NKIM. Political analysts, have noted many of the rallies are geared towards highlighting the steady increase in economic growth of the country under the NKIM’s previous four year leadership, if a bit slow. The Rallies have also been used to garner support for the re-implementation of a National Healthcare policy which in the words of Pimunek has been “readjusted and revitalized for integration” commenting on the disbandment of a State-wide healthcare  policy in place under the Soviet Republic. The Rallies have also taken an unexpected turn towards seeming patriotic fervor, highlighting the negative reactions of the international community in regard to a recently passed law.

Second day of Curfew met with increased escalation
Shortly before the official start time for the enacted Curfew, a flaming object was directed towards KSG agents deployed in the Fifth District. It is unclear whether the object was an isolated incident or part of an organized resistance against Curfew and KSG agents within the Fifth District. Following the throwing of the projectile KSG retaliated with the use of water cannons and tear gas against amassed crowds. Currently there has been no stated disciplinary action to be taken against the KSG, their reaction deemed to be within the proper legal authority and justification by the: Authority & Administration Council of Dzunho. Some within the parliament and outside observers have condemned the retaliation as being too harsh and potentially leading to further escalation.

Secretary of Foreign Relations: Bright Future for Kopsje and Fleuroix Relations
Bakhtiyar Musaev, current Chairman of the Secretariat of Foreign Relations, gone on record saying; “I see a bright future for the cooperation and friendship of Kopsje and the Republic of Fluer”. The Republic of Fluer has been at the time of this repot, the only State whose Government has officially voiced approval of the recent Religious Restriction Law passed in the Parliament of Kopsje. It is believed that the Parliament and Secretariat are working to prepare for an official line of dialogue between Kopsje and the Republic of Fleur in the near future.

Dzhunho, Captial city of Kopsje

“This is a clear provocation against the authority of our laws and the Sovereignty of our country! This Alexis Minette, this High Priestess, is effectively acting as an Achkaerinese agent. Her actions are those sanctioned by the Kangzi Emperor and his government weather they openly admit to it or not! We cannot allow such a slight against our country go unpunished! We must ensure this so called Covent t-“ the voice of a young man resonated throughout the parliamentary chamber. His words reaching the ears of all members present some nodding in agreement others silently listening, while some mad notes. The young man, a Junior member as one could tell easily with his overcompensated oration making his words seem almost scripted, was soon cut off by a female’s voice. One with far more authority and a natural composure to it.

“Ridiculous! The only provocation happening is that of this law against the people of Kopsje! The NKIM have continued to push this law, passed only by the cowardice of abstention, and now are taken aback at the realization that their supposed plan to transcend Kopsjse, our beloved country to their perverted concept of a modern state,  has backfired and drawn the ire of not just our own people but that of the Kangzi world.” Following her abrupt interruption the women shot up so as to have her words heard across the chamber. Once finished she proudly smiled as her attempt to shoot down the Juniors words were met with thunderous applause. Though mainly from those around her, clearly her fellow party members.

“It is one thing to stop the flow of goods into our lands, it is entirely another to import religious figures with intent to subvert our actions as a political authority. With the Kangzi priestess’s words she has effectively invited more of her ilk to act as squatters in Yrket! Need I remind the parliament that these are not just simple fanatics but an organization who brandish swords and spend their lives learning martial skills. Are we to allow what could easily be armed Zealots to make a stronghold of one of our cities? One that lies only a few kilometers away from the Capitol?” The young man replied, this time facing his vocal attacker directly. His words had clearly garnered the attention of many as hushed murmurs echoed through out the chamber.

Many within the parliament were beyond aware that the current situation and passage of the law was likely to be seen negatively by the Kangzi world. By all means the law had passed in an entirely fair and legal manner, regardless of what the opposition would say. Thus condemnations and sanctions were all well and fine, expected even, but this? This was something most wouldn’t have expected. Yet it had and now the question simply was how to deal with it. These thoughts and others ran through the mind of Suymenkul as he simply sat and listened to the two parties bicker back and forth, with their designated mouthpieces. Suymenkul was neither affiliated with the NKIM whom were situated to his right nor the GIL situated to his left. Instead he was a member of a third party, one that by all means had faded into obscurity by this point. The Politics of the Parliament had grown to be dominated by the two giants situated on either side, while Suymenkul and others of smaller parties dominated the center. It was quite interesting for him. If the parliament truly did reflect the views of the general populace, then from the looks of it half of Kopsje yearned for a welfare-state, while the other half sought a near total abolishment of government.

“IF I… may have the floor? It is clear we cannot allow this slight against us, against Kopsje, to go unnoticed. Equally so we cannot afford any overly swift action that would rally further Kangzi action against Kopsje nor lead to similar situation that persists in Fifth District. Thus I suggest that what this Parliament should…”

“What the parliament should do? I’ll tell you what the parliament should do! We should revoke the damn law and ban the idiocy of the NKIM from the chamber!!” A thunderous roar of a male’s voice came from Suymenkul’s left. It grew louder with each sentence and when he finished his intrusion a loud echo of applause and cheering from the left section of the chamber vocalized the similar thoughts of GIl members. As excepted NKIM members began booing and yelling back at their verbal attackers claiming the GIL to be anti-Kopsje and other political insults.

This was getting out of hand. Suymenkul tried to raise his own voice attempting too call for a motion, but was quickly drowned out by the verbal battle that was engulfing the chamber.

Dzhunho
Fifth District
“Hurry Ainura! We must Hurry…leave it we will get another one later!” A hushed and frantic voice filled the tense air of the tenement bloc as a family quickly gathered their belongings negotiating among themselves with what they needed as opposed to wanted. A mother was haphazardly stuffing clothes, medicines, hygiene products, anything she deemed necessary into a suitcase, chiding her young daughter upon seeing the girl trying to fit a stuffed musk doll into a backpack. She was annoyed at the sight but understood, her daughter’s insistence. The Doll had been a gift from her grandmother. She’d passed away not to long ago. The soft grunts of the girl’s attempt to pack the sentimental item echoed through out their tenement flat. The mother sighed as her commands fell upon small distracted ears, she checked a nearby clock its dull green digitalized numbers reading 7:46. The Mother grew more anxious at this sight. They’d only have about 14 minutes to leave the district before the KSG started reinforcing the curfew. There was no more time to waste, in a panicked state the mother clasped her young daughters hand lightly dragging her away, knowing she would only resist if they left the doll the mother grabbed it in her other hand. They made their way outside of the building, other families and groups with similar goals also emptying their respective tenements.

Their destination was Yrket. The mother knew of it, had even visited the suburb-town due to her work, but she’d never thought to intentionally go there. It was the words of the Kangzi Priestess that had seemingly ignited a surge of exiles to the town. The Mother wasn’t sure what exactly the Priestess meant by calling the town a Covent, or what these two religious Orders were but from what little she heard from her co-workers she understood it as a place for Namists to seek refuge. Maybe… just maybe they’d take in her daughter, let her practice her faith in peace and save her from being severed with the Eternal. Maybe. As she pulled her now calmed down child down into the streets she looked again at her watch. 7:50. Ten Minutes, they had only ten minutes to make past the crowds of protestors and reach the entry point. A new wave of urgency and anxiety filled the mother as she reached down lifting her young daughter and carrying her hurriedly making her way to the entry point.

The streets were chaotic with large amassed protestors focusing their anger towards a wall of KSG agents. Shouts of “tyranny”, “oppression”, and other insults filled the air along with protest signs, religious symbols, and Icons. This had been going on for nearly a week now but with the curfew it had grown more escalated in the past few days. It was another reason the mother so desperately wanted to leave the fitfth district. As she hurried along keeping her daughter close to her shoulders instinctually trying to protect her from anything and everything at the moment, she couldn’t help but catch a glimpse of something oddly luminescent in her peripheral. A bottle? Something was off though, it had a piece of cloth stuffed inside the… The mother disregarded everything at this moment, switching from a swift paced jog to a full out run. Holding her daughter close she shoved her way through amassed people. At last she could see the line of KSG agents and small opening among their ranks. The Entry point, she gently placed her young daughter down and grasping her hand quickly guided her towards the point. A portable neon sign revealed the time as 7:56, instructions for the amassed crowed to go indoors following. The Mother nervously glanced around as they waited in line.  She noticed the KSG agents assembled slowly preparing themselves with all kinds of gear. What for, she did not want to think about.

At last it was their turn to be processed the Mother looked thankfully at the neon sign which read 7:58. A young women smartly dressed but lacking the more geared out appearance of the KSG agents, gave them a small smile waving them over. She promptly asked them to produce authorized papers to which the mother gladly reached in her pocket managing to produce, one?! That couldn’t be right she knew she had mad preparations for the both of them. The mother gave an apologetic smile as she began ruffling through her things desperately looking for the other documents. A sudden scream to behind her distracted her attention away. She only managed to catch a glimpse of an orange iridescent object before it crashed against the riot shields of the KSG line exploding into a fiery yellow-reddish mass.

“Lock it down, lock it all down!” She could hear the orders of the young women, her voice a mix of frustration and anxiety. As she commanded KSG Agents began crowding along the line demanding everyone return to their homes.

“No wait! Please, take my daughter she has a pass!” The mother pleaded, gently tugging on the younger women’s uniform.

“I..I can’t. Minors, can not leave with out supervision, you know th-” the young woman began droning on lines she had seemingly memorized. It was clear she wasn’t even paying attention to the pleading mother her worries and attention drawn to the increasingly tense scene of the streets.

“Please, Udak, she is all I have left! I just want her to be safe please...”

“Fine, fine! Just hurry it up!” With that the mother handed her daughter over to the young woman. Who gently yet frantically began pulling the girl away, the child’s wailing for her mother soon being drowned out by the loud yelling and clashing of the mob engaging with the KSG Agents.

Town of Yrket
Southern Kopsje
“No you can’t! You’ve no right, that is private property!” The protests of an elderly man rang out louder than necessary in an attempt to draw more attention. He owned a local café, one of the most well known in Yrket in fact, and under any normal circumstance the KSG would avoid creating such a scene.

“And this is a legally recognized public place. Now piss off before I detain you for interfering.” Came the reply of an annoyed KSG agent, scenes like this were playing across the small town of Yrket. All of Kopsje for that matter. Kyrzun, Rus, Kopsjenese or Kangzi, it didn’t matter the only places left uninterrupted were the churches and temples of the various faiths. Though many suspected it was only a matter of time.

The Town of Yrket was hardly a large destination spot. Its proximity to the so called “Gem of Kopsje” Dzunho, made the small suburban town little more than a footnote to most who heard of it. It was for all intents and purposes a sleepy, easy going, town. The Bustle and chaos of Dzunho absent, in its place the tranquility of the more natural surroundings. So it had been, so it was supposed to be. Yet as fate would have it the norm was to suddenly be disrupted by an influx of newcomers, both Kospjense and Knagzi. It was a situation that had created much confusion for the residents and a headache for the local KSG.

“Anything new to report?” The uninterested voice of a man inquired, followed by the sipping of a drink. His name was Pukak, and as far as anyone was concerned, he was technically in charge of Yrket as the leader of the local KSG. He stood with some of his fellows all having their attention turned focused on the group of Kangzi individuals they’d come to know as the Maiden Sisters, and now apparently this, Acolyte Order. Ever since the announcement by the High Priestess, their little sleepy town of Yrekt had managed to garner national attention.

“Other than the seeming exodus from Dzunho, nothing out of the ordinary. There are occasionally new Kangzi showing up at the Namist Temple, but otherwise…” one of the surveying agents responded. The whole situation had proved to be, strange, to say the least their town usually only dealing with occasional thievery and drunken brawls. Now they were practically staring down these Namists everyday as if both sides were just waiting for the other to make the first move.

“Why don’t we just detain them? They obviously aren’t here to pray, or whatever they do.” Another, younger voice asked. The sudden appearance of the Kangzi religious figures had put many on edge, no doubt due to their brandishing of various bladed weapons.

“Under what charges though? Legally, they haven’t done anything…yet anyway.”  The first agent replied their eyes not moving from the robbed figures of the Namists.

“Alright enough. I expect both of you to keep your personal views in check while on duty. If anything happens, we’ll be ready.” With that Pukak took another sip of his drink, another glance at the Namist temple and headed back inside the KSG building. He knew things were about to get interesting. Most likely for the worst.

Near the western entrance to Yrket, two KSG agents had stopped a woman, clearly Kangzi and dawning a similar robe like those at the Namist temple. One of them pointed to some kind of medallion or other necklace like object. From the looks of it, a symbol of the Namist faith.

“You got authorization to be carrying that around?... matter of fact, those require authorization too. You’re going to need to produce some documents missy, would be a shame if we’d have to confiscate these…” One of the agents asked, the other chiming in and pointing at sheathed blade. It was clear they stopped the women for their own purposes, whether it be an over-zealous sense of duty, now surfacing xenophobia, or simply out of boredom. Whatever the case may-be it was obvious two KSG agents wouldn’t let the women pass until they were satisfied.
