President Feish stood in front of a large window in Terminal 4. There was no noise of passengers or tourists today. All flights in and out had been cancelled, and all people evacuated. There was absolutely nobody, excepting the military personnel that were patrolling the area. All three executive aircraft landed simultaneously, with the two planes landing on runways, while the Second Empire helicopter landed on one of the 10 helipads located further away.
The ride to the city centre was quite a short one, and a silent one too. Ebston looked around at all the people. There was the Quintellians, which included King Lapu and his team, Seth McMinn, an experienced official from Ui Cenneslaig, and Werner von Huaning, a veteran from the Second Republic’s B.M.G.R.D.F.
The large transport helicopter touched down on top of the government building, and each person disembarked. After all passengers had gotten off, the helicopter immediately took off for the Southern Territories, which were no closed due to the rapidly spreading virus, which had now killed hundreds. The visitors had entered the building, which was now swarming with government officials and militairy officers. There was an atmosphere of panic all throughout the air. President Feish led the visitors down an extremely long corridor. The further down they went, the less amount of people there were. Eventually, they reached a large door that took up the entire wall. After many security tests, the large door opened up to an even larger elevator. The group entered, the doors shut, and the elevator began accelerating downwards at a high speed. It felt like the dark elevator was never going to stop falling until it slowed down, and came to a halt.
The door opened to a big room, where there were already dozens of personnel working at terminals. In the center of the room was a long table, at which everyone sat down.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we are facing a gargantuan biological threat, one that could potentially destroy this very continent, unless we decide to co-operate. In these folders in front of you, you will find official reports on the current situation.”

We have shut down and reinforced all borders in the Southern Territories for your citizen’s safety. We have also stopped all flights and ships from leaving New Derusmia. We recommend you do the same.
The first official reports have arrived. An unknown terrorist group has claimed responsibility for infiltrating an abandoned biological weapons holding facility. All hazardous items were reported to have been removed years ago, but a specific weapon was scheduled to be removed 2 months ago, but was delayed due to unknown reasons. The virus has now been confirmed to be extreme fatal and highly contagious. Our Department of Health is now researching a cure, and we are seeking logistical aid from the Second Imperial Chinese Republic and Ui Cenneslaig.
If possible, I would like to call you to the uninfected city of Metria, where we can work out a solution. I will send a private aircraft to send you to Metria, where a helicopter will send you to the government building, as all major roads have been closed.

The moment finally came. The flight number DA001 had shown up on the Arrivals board. The media flicked towards the windows, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Presidential aircraft. At first sight, it looked like any ordinary NDIA plane. But a look closer, and you can see that the usual wolf emblem on the tail, it had been replaced with the Presidential seal of New Derusmia.
To a lot of people, Memorial Day was a day of festivities. But not to President Ebston Feish. Today was a day of apologies. A day of begging for forgiveness for the actions that the Commonwealth of Derusmia had done during the Great War. Bombings, shootings... Horrible, horrible things.
President Feish stood in front of a large crowd, waiting to give a speech. “Ahem.” The crowd fell silent as his voice echoed throughout the vicinity. “Thank you for allowing me to be here today. On behalf of all Derusmians, I would like to say sorry. Sorry for the many innocent lives we took. Sorry for the many families that were affected. Sorry for all the destruction that we had caused, cities laid to waste...” President Feish’s eyes shed a single tear, for he had seen what the Commonwealth of Derusmia caused during the Great War a long time ago. “...I’m sorry.” President Feish stepped off the podium, and walked down the stairs, into the Terminal, where he, and others, would wait for the remaining leaders to arrive.
