Lungsod Mutiny (Jan 2010 - Feb 2011) - OOC discussion
« on: June 10, 2019, 04:34:08 PM »
In the ancient times of 2010, Quintelia was under the presidency of President Benigno Roxas, who was against the Wewazkangz tribe. The Wewazkangz tribe is a very prominent tribe that has influenced Quintelia greatly, with members including King Lapu, Omarelle Dizon, etc. So in Roxas's third State of the Nation Address, he announced that the Wewazkangz tribe to be illegitimate and traitors due to historically having helped Krimeonite colonizers a few centuries ago. Ferdinand Adartse, a representative of the Wewazkangz Tribe in the congress and present in the State of the Nation Address, spoke against this and declared a mutiny. The Wewazkangz Tribe and the government forces mostly fought in the National Capital Region, though skirmishes occurred in other provinces. The fighting lasted for thirteen months, destroying the financial center of Fort Bonifacio City. In the end, the Wewazkangz Tribe becomes successful, and Ferdinand Adartse takes the throne, being named King Lapu.

So, during this time, what were your nations doing and did any of them consider helping? Would there be any nations willing to accept refugees temporarily? IC thread will be posted in the next few weeks.

Krimeon would have naturally involved itself with the Mutiny, due to the closely integrated historical ties as well as the good relations the Wewazkangz have with the Imperial Family. The government didn't mind getting rid of Roxas due to prior worsened relations during his term as President and replacing him with Lapu would have gained quite a number of diplomatic points with the mutineers. As soon as the mutiny started, refugees would have been accepted into Krimeon with open arms whilst the government publicly condemned the transgressions of President Roxas and thus declared him to be an illegitimate President. Over time, Krimeon would have supplied Wewazkangz with financial aid and weapons, as well as sending its finest Spec Ops over there to fight alongside them against the Roxas Regime.

Assuming it's okay with you and makes sense IC for you. Tamora would have supported Roxas's regime (the guy who lost).

Tamora's aims and rationale would have been the following: a regime that is losing support and is in a civil war is willing to make compromises and be friends with people that otherwise wouldn't. So Tamora would support Roxas as much as he would be willing to make concessions to Tamora. Also, Tamora would support Roxas regime until the end by offering sanctuary to high ranking members of his regime. As I said, only if that doesn't create problems for your story. I am happy to provide further details more if you need more info.

@TYP

Aight, cool

@Tamora

Ok, makes sense, but I have a few questions:

1. Was Abbas the one who wanted to support Roxas?

2. By support, you meant financial and aid or military aid?

3. Would you like any of Roxas's officials talk to any of your officials as well?

4. How would Tamora react to Wewazkangz winning?

1. Yes, Abbas would be Emperor at that time and would have authorized this. It wouldn't be something personal for Roxas or against Lapu since Tamora has no interest in Quintelia's tribal issues. Abbas would just take the risk and bet on one side in the hope he might score points and end up betting on the wrong side.

2. Depends a lot on how much Roxas faction would need. At the most Tamora could provide both. As far as military support is concerned, at the most Tamora could provide the support Russia is alleged to have provided to the Maduro regime: weapons and some troops (assuming it's possible considering issues technical like range etc ). The troops support would be kept low profile and officially not acknowledged. Things like Tamoran ships coming near Quintelia is out of the question (and we wouldn't have any in the first place).

3. As a matter of fact I would, I think it would be interesting. On our side the highest representative would be the minister of foreign affairs.

4. Since Tamora bet on the wrong side and lost naturally there would be a lot of uneasy at first. For the most part Tamora would try to send the message unofficially "no hard feelings" and try to mend relations but will not do things like public apogees or pay reparations. The official stance would be "we answered the call of the legitimate government of Quintelia at the time, you now have a new government and recognize its legitimacy. We don't support people, we support institutions" or something like that.

Tamora and Quintelia have good relations at present imo. I am not interested in retconing that so whatever implication Tamora had in this civil way/ mutiny it would have to be within the limits that would allow Quintelia and King Lapu to get over it and have the relations the two countries have today.
