Two small thuds echoed inside the small room, probably 25m². The lights were switched on from the outside, and the white walls, ceilings and floors shone while the heavily stained beddings, sink, and toilet were shown. A man in his early twenties woke up and grabbed the newspaper and his breakfast, a sandwich. He sat up and read the papers.

"My family left me again. Could have used my parole instead of..." He mumbles until it was so soft, it could have been his thoughts.


This man is Carlos Juan Adartse, the second legitimate son of King Lapu himself. He is at the age of 23, is a 5,8 make with black hair and eyes and nose resembling his father's. A royal family member inside the Lacrataz Island Correctional Facility. He was imprisoned since 2011 with 15 counts of frustrated homicide and 14 counts of attempted homicide resulting to injury.

Five years ago, he was the Minister of Defense. He held high honors being a very young general during the successful Birchwood Mutiny where he and his father occupied significant areas of Caste City, a neighboring city of Lungsod. They attacked The Palace and finally gained power and made the country it is today.

 Carlos, being just 18, usually goes out with his friends to drink and gamble. This infuriated the public, calling the administration "an immature family ruling like children". He took a course in Social Science as advised by his friends, and later, trained his soldiers to combat mutineers and conspiators. He left his vices for a certain person, a woman of his life. Her name was Kathryn Dalton, daughter of the owner of Dalton Automobiles, Sir Ian Dalton. The couple loved each other and made love with each other. They were engaged but her father wouldn't allow a wedding to happen. He wanted his daughter to practice abstinence until he died. This angered Carlos and broke up with Kathryn. He went down into depression and later, insanity. He didn't tell any of his friends or his family about his condition. Carlos would lock himself in the room, shouting in agony from his mind torturing itself. A month later, he would slaughter his former love, her family and friends with a bomb on one of their parties.

Carlos was tried and sent to Lacrataz Island for his crimes. He wouldn't be disowned thanks to the constitution not letting any direct ancestor of Wewazkangz to be discriminated. He was senteced to a life-long stay at the island with psychiatric help.

At first, he was given the usual solitary confinement a harsh criminal would experience. It was ordered by the King himself to control the public outrage on equality. The Prince's prison was a 50m² room with a bed and a toilet. The doors were made of reinforced steel and the food was dropped from a chute near it. The beds and toilets were usually dirty as they were never cleaned. The finds were checked every month by a guard to see if the prisoner have died or needs medical help.

Carlos knew all the specifications and was insane, and therefore devised a plan to escape. After a week, he began to eat his shit, drink his piss, and eat his food rotten. He did this for a two weeks before going back to normal. When a guard checked his cell, Carlos was sick from all the garbage he had eaten, but was strong enough to easily takedown the said guard. When he was finally free, he unlocked the cells of everyone in the Solitary Confinement Area and made a prison break. They went outside the building before being met by heavy a fire of tranquilizers, hitting Carlos first.

It was a normal day for Carlos, just sitting around contemplating, until the newspaper came in. The headline shouted at him.

"What? WHAT? What the. How? She was healthy the last time I met her. I demand an investigation!" Carlos talked to himself before turning to the security camera. "You there! Tell my father that he needs to stop with his bullshit! I demand to see her one last time! Just one last time." He broke down and started sobbing on the floor. "Why does everyone I love dies?" He cried to himself.

About three months ago, Prince Carlos Juan was secretly transferred from Lacrataz Island to a less strict Kamuning Correctional Facility, which is known for their dancing inmates and ex-convicts that stayed there having careers as extras in acting. It would be a comfortable pace for the Prince as he himself was a teen star before being appointed by his father as a general and later on, a Minister. This time however, it would be a great opportunity for the Prince to be pardoned and set free, as the King has seen a chance to do some royal intermarriage. Although still locked up, this would mean more freedom for Prince Carlos, as he wouldn't be isolated in a white, bleak room where he would only converse with himself. Of course, a month-long rehabilitation back to the real world and a weekly mental checkup would be needed for a person locked up for more than five years without any social interaction.

During his first week, he starred talking to his doctor and assessors, with his first phrase to another person for five years is. "Thank you.". A few days would go by and he'd have long conversations with his therapists, although his eyes would always wander off into the distance, gazing at nothingness a thousand kilometers away. Third and fourth weeks pass by and his physical and mental condition greatly improved, gaining almost thirty kilograms since he arrived in the said facility. The next week, he was released with the other convicts. At first, the other prisoners ostracized him like everything's back to high school. There days later, Tadeo Gomez, convicted for negligence resulting to multiple homicide and driving under influence as he drove through three children while high on recreational opium. He plead guilty and was sentenced to ten years in a rehabilitation our correctional facility. This, would be his last year and in a few months, he would be finally released. Tadeo approached the Prince with a tray on his hands and sat right next to him. "So, how long will you be kept here? Also, weren't you sentenced to a life sentence?" Tadeo asked loudly enough for the other inmates to hear, while Prince Carlos looked at him sternly as he stopped chewing his food.
