It is with great sadness that we announced that His Most High Majesty Brzdmtsveli Tamaz Japharidze has died this morning at the age of 77.
He had been Brzdmtsveli since 2002. Our nation has lost today a great leader, a great statesman, and a great patriot. A state funeral will be immediately organized in the city of Azavrelia, as it was his and his family's wishes.
Prime Minister Gela Berdzenishvili has immediately announced 10 days of mourning for the death of His Most High Majesty Tamaz IV.

The Council of State has started today a special permanent session to choose a new Brzdmtsveli.
As it establishes the constitutional protocol, His Excellency Chairman Vakhtang Tsiskaridze will remain as acting head of state until a new Brzdmtsveli is elected.

His Excellency Chairman Vakhtang Tsiskaridze has announced this afternoon that Mrs. Ketevan Chakhava was nominated and chosen by the Council of State to become the new Brzdmtsveli as leader of our nation and our people.
In his statement, Chairman Tsiskaridze has praised her preparation, her professional as well as her personal contributions to society as General Director and President of Honour of Akhali Shansi Foundation in recent years, between other initiatives.
In the next few days it will be announced the date of the official ceremony in which she will be proclaimed as head of state of the Unitary State of Mktvartvelo.

Following Chairman Vakthtang Tsiskaridze reception of Brzdmtsveli-elect Ketevan Chakhava this morning, His Excellency Prime Minister Gela Berdzenishvili has announced that the coronation ceremony of the new Brzdmtsveli will be held on Aprisi 2.
His Excellency Prime Minister Gela Berdzenishvili has confirmed that head of state, government representatives, and official diplomats of most Mundus nations, as well as important members of Mktvartvelo's civil society will be invited to the important and historical ceremony, to be held in outskirts of Ktsatskuri metropolitan area, as it has been traditional in the last three centuries.
