New Morelander-based Airport Security Measures to be TakenAs a prime target for terrorism, East Moreland employs stringent security procedures, both on the ground and on board its aircraft. These effective, though time-consuming and "discriminatory" procedures have won EM's security reputation, with ES following suit The Ministry of Justice has come out today with groundbreaking news that the Ecclesiastical State will be among the first countries to adopt the highly effective though time-consuming and "discriminatory" airport security measures normally found in East Moreland; A major reason being the large issue of the usage of Child Soldiers in conflict although the Ecclesiastical Councilor of Justice stressed the necessity of updating the border's security in an ever increasingly dangerous world out there.
"So far it seems the Divinity has spared us from grave evil harm however it would be naive enough to say it'll probably never occur. These appropriate measures will increase waiting hours and some may find it unpleasant for such stringent procedures...I'd say those extra hours and so-called uncomfortability are necessary for a safer travelling and wellbeing for us all; we've invited our equivalent Morelander colleagues for consultancy considering the experience they have with Borelander and Truthsayer Terrorists. All of these measures will be applied on all countries. However, once onboard Oceanic World Airway's experience will be like none other compared to similar airlines, likewise when finally stepping in the very fresh air, alps, fjords and Snaps ES has to offer, it'll be damn worth it and that I can happily guarantee to all worried travelers." he said before finally adding: "I implore all countries who do CARE about everyone's safety to apply effective solutions such as these, it's saddens us that there are those who would rather speak senseless, ineffective words without actually taking action".
The following security measures are to be implemented in cooperation with Oceanic World Airways:
Airport security measures- At Ecclesiastical airports, plainclothes agents and fully armed police or military personnel patrol the premises for explosives, suspicious behavior, and other threats. Armed security personnel will also patrol OWA terminals overseas. Inside the terminal, passengers and their baggage are checked by a trained team. OWA security procedures will now require that all passengers be interviewed individually prior to boarding, allowing OWA staff to identify possible security threats. Passengers are asked questions about their place of origin, the reason for their trip, their job or occupation, and whether they have packed their bags themselves. OWA believes interviewers can spot signs of nervousness.
- At the check-in counter, passengers' passports and tickets are closely examined. A passport without a sticker from the security checkers will not be accepted. At passport control passengers' names are checked against information from the various foreign intelligence agencies' databases. Luggage is screened and sometimes hand searched. In addition, bags are put through a decompression chamber simulating pressures during flight that could trigger explosives. Even at overseas airports, OWA security agents conduct all luggage searches personally, even if they are supervised by government or private security firms.
Flight security measures- Undercover agents (sometimes referred to as sky marshals) carrying concealed firearms will sit among the passengers on every international OWA flight. Highly trained and rigorously drilled OWA pilots are now encouraged to have been former Ecclesiastical Army Air Force pilots. The cockpits in all OWA aircraft have double doors to prevent entry by unauthorized persons. A code is required to access the doors, with codes which scramble every five minutes, and the second door will only be opened after the first has closed and the person has been identified by the captain or first officer. Furthermore, there are reinforced steel floors separating the passenger cabin from the baggage hold. OWA ensures that all of its employees are certified to perform CPR as well as experienced, skilled, disciplined crew members are always ready to react to sudden emergencies calmly yet courageously, while putting further emphasis on rigorous, routine maintenance checks on all of the aircraft and cooperation with local authorities on all matters.
Security measures regarding use of child soldiers- This screening shall be done for all travellers no matter country of origin, to ensure that none of the minors travelling are subject to coercion or are being used as child soldiers. This shall form the basis of an interview with boarder security forces, during which an appropriate appointed adult shall be present to advocate on behalf of the minor. Any child whom we have suspicion to believe is connected to being a child soldier will be placed in secure social services housing while further investigations are carried out. Should this confirm that the child is being groomed for being sent to war they shall be transported back to the nation of origin while any adult they are travelling with shall be charged under the Uppsala Convention.
