Katja Mannersson was disappointed that so few of the students in the hall came forward to join up, four in total. She went over and thanked them as the others shook their hand welcoming them to the brotherhood, a few more meat shields for the actual fighters was always useful. Next she turned her attention to those unwilling to sign up after the thirty minutes had elapsed. "For those of you unwilling, or unable, to live up to the Odinist values then you are free to return to your rooms. For the time being we ask that for your safety you remain inside your accommodation blocks. We shall see you shortly with more details." With that the men with guns motioned towards the doors and everyone, including Ortwin were able to return to their rooms.
Five small towns were now under Gungnir control in the North of the nation, in each they'd secured a symbolic HQ where foreigners would have been present. Those people were now being convoyed out to the ferry port while only a handful of new voulenteers had been found. Several of the local Gungnir commanders had reported spotting drones or planes overhead, no doubt military checking out their actions. In one town there had been a small attempt to resist by some local armed police but after a shoot out lasting around twenty minutes the police had run out of ammunition and surrendered. They were now sat in their own cells awaiting trial for treason. The Ålander military was slowly mobilising. They'd been hoodwinked, their forces mainly patroling towns and cities in the south close to Krokom where they suspected the next attacks by terrorists would come but now it seemed that they'd have to get off the streets and get North in double time. All this was buying the zealot Gungnir more and more time.
It was getting dark in Östanåker now and from their windows the students would have seen even more Gungnir coming into the area around their place of study. Trenches had been dug, sandbags piled and some kind of device set up in the car park that seemingly had shut down mobile phones. Katja Magnusson had assumed command of the troops here now and had been busy checking messages coming in from her various superiors. There was one that caught her eye, someone had picked up on the Neu Urburzis ambassador having a son in the nation. She scanned back down the list of students and there it was the boys name. She dispatched one of her subordinates to find him.
The youngster, like everyone else, was in his room and the man escorted him to the Chancellor of the Colleges office, which was serving now as the HQ. "Please take a seat" Katja said as she handed Ortwin a copy of the article. "If you wish to phone your father and let him know your safe then feel free" She pushed the landline towards him letting him choose whether to make the call or not, she took her own seat and stirred some sugar into her coffee while she waited for him to complete his decision. Once he had she spoke again. "I must say we're surprised someone like you would convert. Tell me which of the seven noble virtues would you say is most important?" She asked setting a kind of test, partly as she was genuinly interested in a converts view, but also to see just how genuine this new found faith was. His response would likely go a long way into her next decision.
