Hello, my nation of Matthelon is a confederation of 21 provinces which from medevel times through to the mid 1800s was a decentralized state which has seen the central government slowly gaining more power against the wishes of many citizens. Historically these provinces were once kingdoms until the unification was deemed necessary for survival in the nation-state world of the time. All 21 provinces have a similar culture which is helpful to the union and keeping it together. Culture and physical geography is similar to the us states of Maine and New Hampshire. Government is similar to Switzerland.
