Inspired by the Simulation Game, Children of a Dead Earth

Short Introduction
The monotomy of the boat

The low, monotone vibrato sung in tune perpetually within the boring crew compartment of the USSC's Arizona. The walls of each passageway only decorated sparingly with pictures of family, or other art the bored crew decided to strew up. Each crew member worked tirelessly at their station, carrying through the usual motions of maintaining the beast. Each section of the crew compartment was heavily dense and cramped with electronics and gear, dank with the smell of sweat, bearing the scars of wear and tear through the ages. Loose pieces of random junk would float to each compartment or another until one found use for it. Still, despite the disorganized claustrophobia, much of the crew was kept on a strict schedule to keep up their health and sanity in such a stricken, zero-G environment.

Each day, a crew member took multiple supplemental vitamins, kept on a consistent diet and workout routine. The mandatory vitamins provided substance the crew otherwise lacked, like nourishment from the sun back home, anti-radiation supplement and acted as mood boosters. Still, the droning month's on end repetition drove many crazy; there was no sun, no sound, only the nauseous hum of the white, dimly lit monotone hull.

Captain Christiansen had reserved his own private quarters, which wasn't much in the cramped environment. While the rest of the crew strapped themselves to the walls or his smaller 'locker' compartments to sleep, the Captain attained his own small room, a small private section of the ship where the other officers slept as well during shifts.

Christiansen wasn't expecting this, perhaps the most boring work in the United States Space Corps thus far. The AI ran the ship swimmingly most of the time and the crew overlooked the routine systems, while Christiansen at the same time overview them. He always had an aspiration for space travel, but serving at sea in the navy back home was much more rewarding at this point. Maybe i'm just nostalgic right now, the relatively young Captain thought to himself, as he floated freely in his cabin tucked nicely within a snug sleeping bag. He reminisced on the open ocean air, the smell of the sea and rain was such a distinct one. The smells and sounds of earth called to him, more than anything he had lusted for in his life. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, imagining his bare toes nestled between the sandy beach, with clear blue waters gently caressing his feet and the exuberant sun glazing his face with it's warm hug.

Then he realized where he was again, a monotonous death trap containing the crew with only a few inches of hull from a life deprived vacuum...

1. Ahkabnil
2.Himeyama
3.Harbordale
4.ES

6
So our starting time is jumbled. We have

1. Achkaerin sending an unknown number of ships and types to ensure easy extraction(specifications plz)

2. RS sending A-10s basically, a 6 hour flight

3. Saheristan CIA sending heavy ground weapons to rebels

So before this turns into a clusterfuck, each post takes place down the timeline from eachother. So we can assume, RS sending A-10s is known, who can miss that and Saheristan reacted later(edit your post if you will to make things clear IC'ly) but given the proximity weapons got to the rebels in a timely manner. What i'm going to do with this, is the A-10s arriving will be a day or several hour flashback running congruently with the Saheristani meeting with rebels(happening now) and then they'll eventually be meeting in the middle with the present.

The Seer of Ebb found the memorial interesting, certainly different from the spectacle back home. Remembrance in Ahkabnil was more of a festival, a celebration of the war's end, a reverence for death and the valiant blood shed by both victorious and fallen soldiers. Ahkabnil wasn't as somber, the Seer didn't quite understand their depression over the situation, but he observed nevertheless. When the Seer reflected on it a bit more however, perhaps it wasn't so different in his mind, the cultural perceptions were interesting things to ponder as he sat there. When the ceremony ended, and the veteran the Seer tagged along got a decent cameo, the High Umam carried himself on to the reception as the old Oqiilchich made his way to the hotel, giving into his need for rest. To two gave their indifferent goodbyes for the cameras and parted ways, the Oqiilchich veteran would be on a flight back to Ahkabnil by tomorrow upon his request.

"Good evening." the Seer of Ebb approached whoever was receiving him, as he walked into the Emperor's Suite. "A fine memorial service." he complimented.

From:- President Leolani

We humbly accept your nation's assistance, gracious King. Both of our country's, while having a volatile yet unique history with eachother have evolved in mutual bond through the Marigold Accord, a vital document which must be upheld to hold back the tide of anarchist rebellions upon this nation and communistic tide of Kaitaine. Our Ministry of Defence will communicate the details urgently as to where the aircraft can be transported. We will provide your personnel and pilots with the utmost treatment.

Historical Wars / Re: Operation Crimson Storm - the Mhorish Sea Campaign
« on: November 23, 2017, 04:08:18 PM »
Bidzakwemok, Northern Ahkabnil

The atmosphere was jubilant with the urgent activity of wartime production, but sorrowful and depressed in the same instance. Men, women and children all wept. A mother, saw her 16 year old son off to war; an old man, seeing his family off as he carries on with a torn rucksack; stoic officers, greet the pale faces of the many new recruits, most young and supposed to be in their prime, but thrown into a situation where most if not all, would not return.

Pechani looked on from a distance, whole town’s young populations had been wiped out simultaneously in this war. There was so much grief that weighed down personally on his heart and mind, Pechan sometimes wondered if the suffering and toil was worth the endeavor. Then he glanced as the colors on his shoulder and realized the uniform he was wearing. He had grown up in an age of war, with his parents constantly telling him how much worse it was under Imperial rule. Was it though? Was there more to living in this world than the certainty of death and destruction. Yet, such hardship was accustom to Pechan’s generation.

He had just got back from the deemed ‘Chanal Front’ with a recommendation to be commissioned for the Oqiilchich, they were an elite group of troops that trained in the highest elevations of the country. Their name was akin to ‘Death Troopers’ meaning warriors who fight to the death, they were a group that was all over the Horn with origins in the Quywe Empire, fighting most notably in the war with Ardia between Quywe, before the rebellions. A war his father and mother fought in, he always got the sense they were never the same.

Pechan was honored that he received such a valiant opportunity, though Yaotenmel knows he didn't have much of a choice. It was either this, or back to Chanal. His heart trembled with a deafening anxiety upon such a thought; he didn't remember what he did in Chanal and he didn't want to, Pechan simply knew it was enough to have him recommended here by superiors.

So he continued on down the street, several old and new soldiers were lined up together, many had bandages wrapped around their bloody wounds, propped up by their rifles. A tour of more battle hardened soldiers had just gotten off a truck, surely seeking out drinks and prostitutes in their neglected youthful exuberance. Some just sat somberly, one young woman, sitting in a perpetual state of shivering with a still, frightened face.

Finally, Pechan reached the temporary conscription enter down the street, a mere mobile tent full of officers who overwatched dozens of men signing up. “Lieutenant Pechan sir.” He approached a rather decorated looking man, standing at attention. “I was directed to report here under commission, for directions.”

The stoic officer grabbed the papers, onlooking them then handing them back. “Have you read these warrior? These… commendations. Quite impressive.”

“No sir I have not.”

“You're a medic?”

“Yes sir.”

The officer shook his head as he continued reading on, ascertaining a deep respect for medical personnel on the battlefield. Though he derived them useless in the grand scheme. “You held off an attack while treating wounded members of your group, in Chanal of all places. Why aren't you back there? We need elite men like you back there.”

Pechan paused for a moment, glancing at the questioning officer. “My entire group was wiped out sir, I was wounded and asked for a transfer, they put me here for moral, sir.”

“Ah.” The officer shook his head, holding out some wine for Pechan. He gladly accepted it and took a swig. “It's always an honor to meet an Oqiilchich, you men have a special place reserved for you in the Heart of Yaotenmel.”

“I am not one yet.” Pechan corrected, receiving his documents back.

“Ah correct, you need charter to the mountain post, the pipeline.”

“Yes sir.”

“Right, we'll get you on your way then, my utmost respect to you warrior.” The officer nodded, sending Pechan off. May your death be a good one, Oqiilchich.

Oqiilchich were troops known all over the Horn, they weren't particularly Ahkabnilian or anything. They were troops of high caliber trained and bred in the most deprived conditions. Fanatic patriots at heart. However, Ahkabnil during the Ardian Scourge began to recruit commendable regular soldiers into their ranks, significantly boosting their numbers. Hundreds of thousands would train with the highest standards yet most minimal means. They were shock troopers then, evolving their reputation as brutal. They took no prisoners, gave no refuge, each filled with the fire of vengeance.

The Mountain Post

“Will you be staying long, General?” Commander Weqpah asked, handing the old venerable leader a cup of squash wine.

General Daelin shook his head. “As much of a fan I am of the Oqiilchich, I am called upon by the Revered Speaker and the rest of the staff. Nurashima is no secret and several hundred thousand of my men are pulled off the line.”

“We need as much men here, they're not thinking of sending you to Nurashima are they?” Weqpah asked.

“There's not much I can do about it, plus I agree with their intent. Nurashima is vital, without it we can't continue fighting here and that's a fact. We're already battling the Ardians for control of this sea. If you agree, your men will be joining me, and you as well Commander.”

Weqpah paused, his heart racing. “What about the other Oqiilchich post?” He began to walk out to the balcony of his command post, overlooking to the bustling training ground and fatigued trainees. The distant valley echoed nothing  but eerie quiteness and natures often crack of thunder or a Condor’s screeching call. It was a beautiful sight, watching the foggy clouds roll between each rocky crevice of each mountain, even the mountain post itself was choked thick with intense fog. The air was thin, that even Weqpah could hardly breath despite living high up here for so long, as he took a deep contemplative sigh.

“I always trust your word, you know that. And I'm with you on this.” He held his cup up, downing the rest of his wine. “I am just afraid on the Chanal Front. This scourge has forever changed the country. More than the rebellions ever have. I worry for our future if we're not here.”

“It's all strategy.” Daelin sighed as he stood up with the held of his cane, his right leg crippled from the Quywe War with Ardia. “Your Oqiilchich will be at the front of this operation. When that operation will be I'm not sure, we have to gather the logistics of it,  it prepare your men for Himeyama, commander.”

“So this is what you came to ask?”

“It's what I've come to order.” The General replied. “You're too much of an asset to me.” The deep rumbling buzz of an H-Uhke “Death Whistle” making a screeching pass overhead reminded the General. “We will have air cover, from our supposed allies and most importantly ourselves. So cheer up Commander, battle is what a warrior lust for. I will be back when a plan is set in motion, in the meantime bureaucracy calls!” Daelin said with one last swig before heading out. Weqpah continued to watch the Deathwhistle’s perform their low passes of the day, contemplating the year ahead. He looked forward to the Chanal Front, now he was set for Nurashima. How he hated Himekuno.

History / Re: Mhorish Sea Campaign (OOC Planning)
« on: November 21, 2017, 01:21:28 AM »
Country full Name: United Ahkabnil(later to become the Theocratic Confederation)
Reason for partaking in the Mhorish Sea Campaign: Since the early 1930s Ahkabnil has been intertwined in a devastating war with Quywe remnants and the Ardian Empire. After seceding from Imperial Quhwe with the aid of Ardia, the continent spanning empire expected utmost loyalty and vassalage of Ahkabnil. The young, spry nation refused in a clout of pride. In collusion with their former enemies, the Quywe remnants negotiated a deal with the Empire, suppress what they deemed rebellions in Himekuno and Ahkabnil and the Quywe Empire would be in debt to Ardia. This ploy was a desperate attempt for the Quywe Imperial families to stay in power, with an impending war between Cojotan and Ahkabnil. It worked, Ardia invaded Ahkabnil in full force in 1935, however the efforts were stagnate with a the rough terrain proving tough for the Ardians. They eventually made progress however, and in 1938 began to siege the city of Chanal, the heart and vital strategic choke-point of Chanal. This years long battle was the beginning of a long standstill in the war. However, by 1940 Ahkabnil had begun pushing the Ardians and Quywe loyalist forces back with more support from temporary anti-ardian allies. War industry kick-started and boomed at the weathered Ardian forces. Ahkabnil, learning from their mistakes fighting the Ardians, pushed them back and in 1942, would crush the Ardian army outside of Chanal in what is called a massacre or great victory depending who you ask and chase them down the range of the country.

It was during these times that Ahkabnil also participated in Nurashima as requested by Achkaerin, a country spread thin in it's support against the Empire. Ahkabnil would send planes, troops in order to secure a vital supply route to them and their allies at the time. It was a race against the clock, as the Ahkabnilian war machine needed to keep pace.
Assets available: 100k to 400k troops, depends on what's realistic. It would be a mix of mountain troops who would have received additional training in amphibious landings in such on the fly. Most are veterans of the ongoing battle of Chanal, at this point Chanal is more or less considered a fact of life and it wasn't expected Chanal would be taken without efforts in Nurashima. In addition, many air units

History / Re: Mhorish Sea Campaign (OOC Planning)
« on: November 20, 2017, 09:05:50 AM »
I'm just going to make an observation on trade routes - below is the map showing the main two trade routes between Achkaerin and Gowu (there are two others that go west out of Achkaerin and take different routes but they're surplus to the point I'm trying to make.)

The red route is the most commonly used one because it's the quickest and safest one. By contrast the geographical position of Achkaerin close to Hrothgar makes the purple route treacherous in the early stages and considering during the war that Weremark was on the Abydos side it's likely that in addition to climate concerns from Hrothgar that Weremark naval vessels may have been harassing around the top end of Aranye threatening that route.

The red route passes through the Mhorish hence the threat against the trade route with Ardian control of the Mhorish area. So please if people are going to use trade routes as a reason for involvement please can you please make sure that they would be under threat? Because I would point out that Quintelia sending supplies to Gowu does not constitute a route going through the Mhorish.

The purple route could pass closer to ahk too and through the mhorish and connect perhaps? Ahkabnil is getting supplies from both ways, mostly through the Mhorish and if that's cut off, then Ahk would certainly be drawn in. Securing naval passages from Quywe(Cojotan) would also be vital since they're right there.

Simple map highlighting potential ahk plan: https://i.imgur.com/mQ59vaf.png

Basically, Ahk could either 1. Try to blow through Cojotan and connected with Hime, providing support by the time of 43 when the tide turns. Or 2. go around Cojotan with what support that have from Ach from the purple route, this would be an instance where Achkaerin ask for Ahkabnilian assistance, this would be ahk digging in for the first part of the air war and transporting troops over.

Economy Politics

Headquarters of teh CSKTC(Cross-Seas Kwuyche Trade Company) in Tachshel

Ahkabnil’s economy is loosely observed as a quasi-free market with mixed state capitalist planning. The Temple of Oqan regulates business standards to ensure their practices are within Pexhitenlli laws, the central government controls the market indirectly and owns several public companies. Most of these companies under the domain of the government pertain to resource extradition and trade, such as the Cross-Seas Kwuyche Trade Company, this solidifies the government’s oversight of economic ongoings. Most domestic private companies operate under permission of the government, usually their product is prioritized by the Temple and bought by the government in contract, many autonomous Tlallaqa make similar deals independently from the central government. Overall, domestic business is put above foreign, propped up by contracts and tariffs; economic policy generally tends to be protectionist in many regards.

Though staunchly protectionist with limited economic freedoms, the economy of Ahkabnil is remarked as being highly efficient, with much of the country’s strict policy catering towards a high margin of productivity. Factors that contribute most is the ‘welfare state’ and and hardline traditional institutions that groom the population as a collective capable workforce. In Academy, Ahkabnilians are educated in particular trades and studies pertaining to their aptitude and former scores from ages 16 to 18. When one finally leaves Academy, they will be mostly prepared, with additional training, to be put into the workforce. A government program called Xhulachtene automatically allocates workers into suitable positions if available at particular companies who have such contracts with the government.

In addition most serve two years of mandatory Civil Service, either in Academy or shortly after, their service can pertain to their wanted or given specialty, this provides a stream of low level government workers that rotate into the market with experience.

Many citizens also go to college for higher education, all colleges in Ahkabnil are private institutions that are subsidized by the government. Only those who are selected can attend with no cost, while those who wish to attend must pay fees or work civil service throughout their education.  Healthcare is similar but is entirely state-run, supported by subsidized regional research institutions and College Academies.

Extensive planning and rehearsal goes into projecting the economy, this planning is used to invoke policies to incentivize the market in a certain direction. The most important institution that is responsible for the government’s economic incentives is the public Kwuyche, a trade company that essentially works for the government with a vast merchant fleet. With regulation in the skies as well, with Hwelan Air, the Ministry of Trade and Economics is able, as efficiently as possible, guide the national economy with a grip on means of trade, while allowing free flexible business in compliance with law to compliantly develop with an emphasis on internal businesses.

Inequality is quite high in Ahkabnil however, though the general population lives comfortably. The Temple and its Associates own a massively disproportionate amount of wealth, much of it which goes into funding the Temple’s efforts across the country but also some lost to cases existing corruption in the political system. Reputable politicians also gain a substantial amount of wealth, forming their own elite class. There isn’t much maneuverability for one to become prestigious or wealthy without service to the government, small businesses and new entrepreneurship is quite bleak, as endorsed corporations and institutions maintain a monopoly on most of the market, Overall, it is believed in Ahkabnil that everyone has their place, ambitious business venture and new thought is largely cancelled by this attitude of content and strict social structure, despite how efficient it is.

Despite strict protectionism Ahkabnil isn’t opposed to trading or doing business with other countries, as long as terms of fair trade are met. Ahkabnil will hardly commence free trade if it is not beneficial directly to Ahkabnil.

Sectors

Agriculture only constitutes a small part of the economy at nearly 18% of the total GDP, much of Ahkabnil’s land is suitable for cultivation, feeding the population mostly while ‘exotic exports’ or ‘high quality exports’ leave the country, such as foodstuff many foreigners value such as hot sauce, peppers,  flat pepen bread, corn, fruit, squash and papaya, much of it are finished products sold into foreign markets. Agriculture is prioritized first and foremost by the Temple as for the people. Fishing is massive industry in it’s own in Ahkabnil, ranking high the tonnage of fish caught and eaten per year, maintaining a large coast relative to land area Ahkabnil has a rather maritime agricultural base. In other areas, Ahkabnil employs terrace farming, while having a high volume of land based meat consumption like pork, beef, bird and rodent. Ahkabnil’s most well known raw food exports are corn, beans and peppers. Alot of food is imported however, mostly from Cojotan who provides a substantial amount of raw food materials.

Industrial production is the second largest part of the economy, alongside mining. This constitutes Ahkabnil’s manufacturing industry and a number of other secondary industry, producing high volumes of finished products and exporting them exponentially, however Ahkabnil also works feverishly on mass production for internal development and growth. Much of this secondary industrial economy pertains to light industry, while heavy industry, though contributing much more to the GDP, is smaller and more regulated. Tertiary services are also a large part of the economy, Ahkabnil is essentially a hybrid service-industrial economy, manufacturing the backbone which props up the service based industry. Though not a massive part of the economy, the government has formed large incentives to back the quaternary sector of the economy, with the funding of research and development in industries such information technology, media, education and planning. Together, tertiary and quaternary sectors make up the largest part of the economy at just over 50% on top of Agriculture, with light and heavy industry taking the rest.

Infrastructure

With it’s own natural supply and stockpiles of uranium Ahkabnil is mostly dependent on nuclear energy for most of the grid, with other dependencies on coal power and petroleum imports. Most nuclear power plants are on the coast and regularly upgraded to meet government standards and safety, a few are on smaller bodies of water or rivers inland. Coastal power plants for the most part however are enough to power a wide reaching majority of the country. Ahkabnil is a heavy investor in nuclear energy, believing it to be the most efficient and cleanest source of power in existence. Uranium is usually mined from most mountains in Ahkabnil as well as coal, both resources are used for primarily energy.

This power is carried by lines through a complex, yet simplistic city layout. As the Temple of Oqan is know to be the precursor of how society will be organized, it tediously assigns itself to meticulously plan cities to a fault. This derived from after the Great War, when recovery was at it’s height, destroyed cities needed to be restored but the Temple and Government took it upon themselves to express the nation’s newfound theocracy in its very appearance. Therefore Ahkabnilian cities, most, will appear very organized, planned and purposeful. Because of this strict planning many cities have had a tough time expanding, with issues such as conservation, and maintaining a city’s operation and layout. Most new buildings that are improved must be constructed by the Temple of Oqan, as Ahkabnilian architecture is rather artistic and a show of craftsmanship, meant to express the beliefs of the theocracy.

You won’t find many high rises or skyscrapers in Ahkabnil, cities had expanded outward instead of up, and the Temple of Oqan had a personal distaste for their appearance.

Transportation ties into the meaningful planning and preparation of cities, rail is common such as the national high speed loops(not hyperloop) that intertwine throughout the mountains. Underground subways and above ground lightrail is common in cities, Chanal, the capital, in particular has both a subway and above ground transportation system, as well as a large canal bus boat system, and a bus system. The unique Canal bus boat system compromise of wide, large triple decker boats that traverse the canals of Chanal, and transport a large volume of people in the downtown, university, airport and business areas. Most Ahkabnilians take public transportation, a well-rounded and highly organized  system.

Obligatory: ofcourse all pics not fully representative so descriptions get creative

Etachpilll Temple Complex
Capacity: 54k
Location: Yokwek Tlallaqa, Temple-Government Ward, Chanal

Etachpill Stadium, though one of the smallest is one of the most prestigious in the country. As a Kepata(Hipball) stadium Etachpill can hold over 70k people but expanded to accommodate football standards, it holds at max 54k attendants. The stadium is made with stone and sunken into the cool ground, surrounded by two underlying water causeways from north and western city-front canals. It’s slanted walls are colorfully decorated in old-style pictograms(not depicted) Being in the heart of Chanal, Temple-Government Ward, it is overlooked by Llixchuy Temple to the south, surrounded by a large garden complex. The north stands that extend vertically are built into the southern part of a small pyramidal temple known as Tewikcha, that juts out of the northern end of the stadium above ground.

Chanal University Kwatemek Alley-Field
Capacity: 87k
Location: Yokwek Tlallaqa, West University Ward, Outer Chanal

Used for both university and professional play in a variety of sports, chiefly Football, Basketball and Kepata, Kwatemek Alley-Field(CUKAF) is one of the newer stadiums in Ahkabnil. Built on the outskirts of west Chanal University it’s the home of numerous local sports teams and has a surrounding athletics complex. Kwtemek is upheld as the largest stadium in the country, built mostly for the country’s growing interest in football and Chanal’s college and professional teams, as well as national, though Etachpill is mostly considered the national stadium. It stands as one the tallest structures in the Chanal area and no matter the sport, is always packed to the brim with enthusiastic fans.

Seodlach Garden Field
Capacity: 85k
Location: Yaollichke Tlallaqa, Eshchaxdloq

Seodlach Field(Seh-oh-tlah-ch) is the pride of the small city of Eshchaxdloq, standing as one of the most consistently attended football stadiums in the country. Built for the local football team, undefeated for a consistent 5 years in 2005, the new stadium is built to mend perfectly with it’s surroundings and sits near Eshchaxdloq’s own temple district. The stadium is renown for having electric energy during games, with the most fanatic of fans at their loudest being heard all across the valley.

Tsodzal Temple and Arena
Capacity: 50.4k
Location: Chuyyien Tlallaqa, Makllan

Tsodzal is an indoor arena used to accommodate Kepata, Basketball and Football, it’s also a convention center and place of meeting in the Chuyyien Tlallaqa at times. Sitting on the very outskirts of Makllan City, Tsodzal is remarked for having a distinct pyramid shape inspired by Chanal’s Llixchuy Temple while also being the most expensive stadium to upkeep in the country, with a complex indoor atmospheric system to control both temperature and condensation. Tsodzal is located in the more arid parts of the country in the steppe highlands, being the second highest stadium in the country.

Pewekon Football Stadium
Capacity: 71.2k
Location: Kolwen Tlallaqa, Huxhpewekon

Pewekon is located in the high city of Huxhpewekon or Huxh for short, the highest elevated city in the country with 25,000 people. It's notorious for being the only dedicated football stadium in the country and being the toughest to play at due to it's thin air at elevation. The sights are beautiful the atmosphere rivals Kwatemek Field.

Ahkabnil is a country fueled by the competitive endeavor of sports and perfection, we hold no quarrel with anyone who wishes to join in such rivalry on the field, since the days of the Quywe Empire we have all settled our differences and disputes in the form of competitive sports with the utmost respect. Our government vows to protect this endeavor and honor the MFA because of this and we look forward to the upcoming world cup.

Revered Speaker, Teudili Anan

One of the five High Umam's of Ahkabnil, the Seer of Ebb, walked in with his entourage of followers, aided by two young men who held his arms, helping him up a few steps. He smiled gracefully for the camera's, with a few waves here and there, but overall remaining modest in a hurry to get into the auditorium. Hakwechi, as he was known in his true name, had fought in the war when he was a mere 15 years old, lying about his age and being forced into service for it. He had stories for ages, as to why he did it and left the temple, and what he had learned from the long fought war, but he didn't dare boast the events or what he ever saw. The Battle of Chanal still burned, suppressed, but he adored the progress the city had made since then. Today, was the apex spiritual guide for the nation, a symbol, one that had to present at this event. The Revered Speaker very well served in the war, but he hardly lavished in the service.

Alongside the High Umam Seer was a mere common man, wheeled along by helpers. His name was Yantek, old and crippled, stoic and tired in his mannerism. He was a notable veteran in the country, part of the famous mountain troops of Ahkabnil known as the 'Oqiilchich' who were known for their ferocity. He alone defended a single position for  days from waves of Ardians with a desperate assortment of weapons at his disposal. The Temple of Ohkan even published a book about him, one of the more well-known biographies of the war and the source of an up-incoming TV miniseries about the Oqiilchich. Tantek wore his old uniform, elaborately decorated with a few flowers and condor feathers, with an assortment of beads. He didn't have his left arm, but wore the patch of the Oqiilchich proudly on that sleeve, a stylized skull, representing death, an aspect of life Ahkabnilians revered greatly.

"Hello." the Seer of Ebb greeted the welcoming party, a translator standing near. "It is a great honor Princess, I am one of the five High Umam's of the Temple of Oqan, the Seer of Ebb, as you may know but more importantly this is Captain Yantek, veteran of the Oqiilchich troops. He his a highly decorated man, known for the holding off wave attacks by himself. He his highly regarded as a principle warrior in our country." he gestured. Yantek remained humble, bowing his head ever so slightly with the tired momentum of age.

Yun Aralaki was rife with the spirit of desperate rebellion, as people clamoured and hollered in front of the National Capitol Building, throwing harmful objects like glass bottles and rocks at the folding line of riot police who retreated up the steps. Several soldiers stood sentry, but did not fire as they were overwhelmed, stripped and beaten by the vindictive mob. Many of the crowd held up flags, flying them proudly while touting hot-blooded nationalism. The flags which signified the revolution was white, with a black and red stylized marigold flower on it. “Ka’gno liike!” the crowd chanted, arriving in frantic mass at the capitol double doors.

The mob entered, marauding every room they conquered with an internal Kaiop flame. Pillaging hit with like a whiplash to the psyche of the nation. Some statesmen desperately clamoured to get away, only to be enveloped in the sea of hatred. The intricately and beautifully decorated halls of the building were now torn down and spit on, ancient monuments stolen and destroyed. The roaring group of hundreds finally reached the multiple doors to the main legislative chamber, trying to pull down the various barricades. Many had hunting rifles and shotguns, attempting to shoot the doors open.

On the other side soldiers took what cover they could in the deeply entrenched positions around the various seats. All young men and women, conflicted on their loyalties and task at hand. Behind them were various statespeople, cowering without their own means to defend themselves. At last their anxiety was crippled when the mob broke through all the chamber corridors almost simultaneously, in a haze of confusion and regret the soldiers didn't fire but either retreated or were immediately swarmed, each attempting to surrender. One soldier begging for his life, before being put down by a Coanchuan with a hunting rifle. They continued to beat and murder all the statesmen in the chamber, carrying a few off for further torture. Most of the disorganized mob continued pillaging in their rage, taking what they saw of any value and leaving swiftly.

By the end of the storming, the national building was left in disarray, with more than half of the Coanchuan Parliament killed or wounded. Rioting and burning would continue into the day, as the discontent Coanchuans would latch into the extreme Free Coanchuan Revolutionary Movement, carrying out their means of achieving its goal. Really, it was simply anarchy, the consequence of circumstance and reprised rebellion. Yun Aralaki was on fire and the revolution was in a surprising full swing.

Analysis: The Impending Revolution in Coanchua
By Peter O’Gadphuc

YUN ARALAKI, capital of Coanchua -- Tensions have reached their boiling point here in Coanchua after months of despair among the population after the government had been unable to effectively treat the destruction caused by last month’s earthquakes and subsequent tsunamis. The population blames government corruption and the Marigold Accord for a lack of emergency infrastructure.

These tensions predate the natural disasters of last month however, with a sudden outcry since the dissolution of Soviet Rodina in 2014 to completely remove the Marigold Accord and establish a government by wholly independent convention. The rebel organization behind these efforts is the League of Free-Coanchua, an organized revolutionary effort comprised of all rebel groups in the country who have been continuously fighting against the Marigold Government since the late 1980s.

A call for independence has always been shouted aloud by most of the Koingia people, believing that they had been suppressed by the marigold accord, and see the Coanchuan government devised by the accord as corrupt. This is mostly true, as Coanchua was subject to internal puppetry of Soviet and anti-Soviet belligerents after the World War. The Coanchuan’s people strife for self-determination can be traced back to the very inkling beginnings of the country.

The Kaiop pirates/raiders developed as a nomadic multicultural people, deriving from Toshikawan, Himeyaman, native Aulukai, Maori and Vesian societies, over time syncretizing ethnically with most countries on the Krimeon and Kyne Seas. They were an outcast people, deemed too unholy for their status as living in crippling poverty, mainly in Toshikawa, and having poor or evil occupations(butcher, undertaker, etc), as well as practicing unorthodox spiritualism. These people, coming together to be known as Kaiop, would settle on Aulukai Isle in the Matilda Channel while retaining their sea-faring lifestyle, melting pot multiculturalism and assimilation with the Ipo natives, creating a distinct group known as ‘Koingia’ today, meaning ‘Cross-Seas’, as all the present people in Coanchua have a diverse ancestry due to the Kaiop pirates, from Seleucid, Maori, Ipo, Himyaman, to more than often an indiscernible mix, ‘Koingia’.

Coanchua for centuries would shift under different eras of imperial occupation, most notably Royal Seleucid who brought a brutal slave trading regime to the Andean Peninsula. Most of the people in Coanchua today have slave ancestry, and take pride in freeing themselves in a Kaiop-led rebellion in the late 19th century. The slaves traded from all over Mundus, usually ended up in Coanchua on Aulukai Isle, Royal Seleucid ruled the Channels with their slave empire.

This history is needed to understand how Coanchua feels about the past and present situation, they see themselves as proud and strong people of high stature, most notably ‘Kaiop’ servuce in the World War where they became known as elite troops, who could hold out against enemies, behind the lines, outnumbered and outgunned. Or the Kaiop pilots known as the Skyraiders, a book which released about them in 2007 arguably sparked independent patriotic endeavor. However, the Koingia people still feel oppressed and see their history as one of struggle to stand the test of time, therefore, the modern day League of Free-Coanchua sees these efforts against the established Marigold Accord as struggle for true freedom.

Marigold Troops at a drug checkpoint

The Marigold Accord was formed after the World War, under brief occupation by anti-Ardian coalitions, most notably Achkaerin. The Accord dictated that the elected government of Coanchua must remain neutral in hostilities between the Soviets and remain compliant with the oversight of a representative to ensure the most congested and profitable shipping lane remained open and stable. The Coanchuan people were taken greatly into account during the Accord’s formation, however the support of Royal Seleucid and the Accord being devised by mostly monarchies made the people discontent. Over time tensions increased, as internal conflict drove more restrictions enforced by the Accord. Many interpret the Accord as a shifting imperial puppet, of both the Soviets and Capitalist powers.

The Accord has further been justified by the Marigold government by using Kaitaine as a chief threat, with evidence showing Mcpherson’s government has backed communist rebel groups in the country and the rise of Zircon and potentially spacefighters. The drug war is also as it’s height in Coanchua, merging with revolutionary efforts as the LFC has been confirmed to use drug money to fund their guerilla and sea piracy operations in the Channel. The Marigold Government has received billions in funding to combat this, much of which goes to weapons or black holes in the government budget. Rigged elections for the past 30 years some have claimed has also been perpetuated by the Marigold Accord.

Riots across Yun Aralaki have only gotten worse and the government is under constant siege, with LFC piracy and organized fighting has gotten more intense, and many government forces have abandoned their post. Coanchua is a powderkeg, the question is what the Accord Great Power will do this time to quell it.

Right so re-edit then, and this is just modern history:

Coanchua aided the anti-ardian powers in the world war or great war or whatever(sidenote: maybe find alternate names when we can cause 'great war' just sounds like ww1). A brief history before this happened, is that in the 19th century a Kaiop pirate led slave rebellion took advantage of crumbling Royal Seleucid, proclaiming independence under a Kaiop Queen who would be executed with several wars proceeding that, however Seleucid was stretched thin and did their best to maintain order by maintaining a small port city. This port would be destroyed leading up to the world war. During the world war Seleucid would try to invade the Channels and take full control of them with the help of Ardia. Sutherland would be the main help in the war against Seleucid and Ardia, in 1935 both had been brutality beaten in the theater and Kaiop marines(elite troops compared to Ghurka's) would continue to furiously defend their homeland and fight in other theaters, most notably years later in Nurashima.

After the war, the Marigold Accord was formed to formalize a government for Coanchua, a convention was held and a republic was deemed a fit system. It established various constraints that made sense at the time, enforced by the Coanchuan government in fear of communist rebelling by Rodina, however Coanchua had remained isolated due to the neutrality clause of the Marigold Accord, with approval needed from the Marigold Accord(a representative) for much of the nation's policy, due to it's central position and fate if fallen under the sphere of Rodina. Disorder and unrest had enforced the need for a Marigold Accord, as well as heightened aggression against Latin-Ardian and Seleucid descendant people in Coanchua. The Saheristani invasion in the 80s under it's own cause brought Coanchua further under the Marigold Accord, with Coanchua successfully fending off the invasion with naval aid from Accord nations.

Coanchua can be considered developing, an unintended consequence of the Accord(neutrality, isolation) combined with government corruption, furthered by economic downturn in the last decade and up to this day, the Coanchuan economic situation has fallen. Many despise the rich, most foreign descendant and not Kaiop-Koingia mixed who profit from the Channel as a lucrative shipping lane. The corrupt Coanchuan government wishes to keep the Accord to both protect any interest that are reliant on it and the fear of a new communist state's rise, Kaitaine, which has a deadly Zircon missile and has been found to support communist efforts in the country. However, since the fall of communist rodina many believe the Accord is a thing of the past and rebels groups have spurred again, calling for change.

Coanchua has experienced a string of bad events that have led to the societal outlook today. Two terrible Typhoons in the past ten years and most recently a season of earthquakes and tsunami's that devastated the country in an already peril economic situation, leading many to believe that a self-determined Coanchua would be able to recover and nationalist rebels gain popularity. Since the 80s after the Channel war, insurgency has been popular in certain parts of the country and today it is at it's height, with government troops battling hardened-rebels across the country. Thousands have died in these supposed wars, as the rebels also perpetuate a lucrative and dangerous illegal drug trade in the area in fund their operations, it has partially been a fight against both rebels and drugs in the Cross-Seas.

This leads to where we are today, with the government crumbling with rebellious mobs at their doorstep. The situation is dire and rebels, which are hostile to the Accord and what it views as imperial nations, are close to entirely overthrowing the government in a final violent finale. An organized revolution had been declared however, one that seeks to negotiate Coanchua's terms of true independence, while throwing out the foreign backed government and establishing sovereign benefit from the Channels. With the history present and the Channels being such a strategic economic and political position, this brings in our cast of nations(who have applied)

Historical Wars / Re: Operation Crimson Storm - the Mhorish Sea Campaign
« on: November 03, 2017, 06:14:21 AM »
Eight Z-2 ‘Tigersharks’ quickly left the deck of the INS Dauntless, that had diverted its original course upon receiving the call for help. The Achkaerinese Captain of the venerable carrier was reluctant at first, as he was a cautious and calm man, unsure what they were driving into, but heard the desperate call and heeded it's request. Xeolani Yacashi, leading the Kaiop fighter squadron deemed the ‘Skyraiders’ was rejuvenated to be getting into combat again. The scruffy group of pirate-pilots gathered around in their barbaric and hyper manner, taking shots of Marigold flower wine for good luck, before announcing a prayer to gather moral and hype.

They all ran out to their planes, already started by the organized ground crews. With the wind blazing in their favor the Kaiop took off with their heavy and rugged planes from the small flight deck of the Dauntless; Yecashi giving one last vibrant holler to the onlooking Captain, knowing this would be their final trip on the Dauntless. How Yecashi hated being at sea, how he loved being the air. It was almost euphoric until he came to his senses, focusing on the task at hand. A sickening pit sunk into his stomach, looking to his left and right making sure everyone was in formation.

On his right, a rookie, mere kid by the name of Jeken who had found himself behind the stick of the Coanchuan born Tigershark. He had a lot of faith in Jeken’s ability as a natural pilot, thought cauntioned his somewhat cocky enthusiasm.

On his left, was an old timer and trusted wingman, Ushoki. She was perhaps one of the best pilots in the squadron behind Yecashi, feared for knowing the Tigershark as if she was a physical part of it. She was the most committed and obsessed with the war effort, but distant and jaded.

“I spot those fucks down’ere.” Hamotyo called out.

“Yeah, yeah I see. You know what to do.” Yecashi commanded. By this time 8 other Tigersharks had joined them, flying parallel to Yecashi’s own formation. Yecashi figured to lead 8 Tigersharks obscured by brief cloud cover in a shallow dive through them, while ordering the second formation to zoom outright into the Ardians. It was a ballsy move, as by the time Yecashi dived straight out of the clouds he and his wingmen were in the thick of a furball, though catching the Ardians by surprise and confusing them in their perpetual state of tunnel vision. Ushoki nearly tore her wings off at the speed she pushed her plane, or so it felt like it. By the time she was oriented a screaming Ardian dive bomber was in her sights, she squeezed away, with the six 50 caliber guns of the Tigershark snapping of its wing.

In a matter of minutes several dive bombers simultaneously met their fate and the Ardian fighters were in peril confusion as the unknown planes feel from the clouds all around them. The other eight Tigersharks openly dived from the sun, acting as the initial distraction.

The Kaiop pilots soon found themselves in an intertwined in furball themselves with angry Ardians. Yecashi, maintaining his high speed as he took out a bomber and badly wounded another, now had an Ardian on his tail squeezing away with his 20mm. A few hits lit up his cockpit in fire, finally he thought, the notorious Kaiop ace meets his fate. Jeken, pulled in behind the Ardian thought it was too late and fire angrily all over the canvas, scoring a few hits and sending the Ardian smoking.

The Kaiop ace struggled to open the cockpit as the fire spread feverishly around the controls. The canopy would only crack, so Yecashi put the plane in a straight vertical dive hoping to hit the water as fast he could, no Kaiop pilot wanted to die in fire. He said his final prayers, before suddenly the flames were sucked out of the cockpit alongside the dramatic shift in pressure. Suddenly he had regained sanity and pulled as hard he could on the stick. Yecashi’s Tigershark, lovingly named Boom and Zoom, struggled as he forced the nose above the horizon at breakneck speeds. So fast, Yecashi could feel blood rushing into his eyes and out his ears, with his vision producing a vignette of black. He had underestimated the Ardians in this theater.

Meanwhile, covering Yecashi’s limping retreat to the nearest friendly airbase, Hamotyo had scored two fighter kills in a boom and zoom attack, then pulling into an High yo-yo when another Ardian overshot his dive on Hamotyo. He landed himself in front of the Kaiop, and Hamotyo squeezed away. “Must be my lucky day!” He jokingly choked the comms.

By the end of the skirmish, the Ardians were sent pulling back with 4 fighter losses and 11 downed dive bombers. Yecashi desperately called on the radio, more concerned with who they lost over his own being. “We're fine boss, lets just get you home.” Ushoki said, as the Kaiop quickly sped away to Himeyama.

Just thought of something which may mean a slight alteration - at the end of our Great War period there's going to be a peace treaty (probably negotiated and signed in early 1946) now given that that period includes the falling apart of the Quenye and Ardian Empires we're going to have self determination rights in there somewhere due to the amount of states either coming into existence or being freed from those Empires. I'm just not sure that thirty years later the same nations that negotiated that treaty are going to turn around and impose a monarchy on Coanchua. I can see Marigold being about the establishment of a constitution and state for Coanchua that may in some way be at odds with local elements and culture but I don't think any agreement is going to ostracize them because if it did then Rodina goes in by the back door.

Basically I think Marigold has to be a sound agreement that establish's a self determined government with international oversight (this being the 'monarch' who ensures the neutrality) but gets exploited by the people that get elected into government for example.
Hmm, this can work timeline wise, however for this to currently work Marigold would have to have a few regulatory standards on Coanchua, limiting it as an independent state and for the monarch to be seen as a puppet. Living conditions also can't be well, something along the way has to throw a kink in the Marigold Accord like perhaps Royal Seleucid supporting it, a former state that brought slaves to Coanchua and fought the Kaiop pirates.

Now perhaps communist threats backed by Rodina rose in Coanchua, thus leading to more direct intervention in it's politics? Not that it would be nefarious or unfair, just necessary. Coanchua would be a neutral zone but also a mix of undercover intrigue going back and forth between different sides.

23
Saheristan: would you be opposed to having Kaiop people on your Channel coast? One's that you maybe conquered once and assimilated, the Kaiop are basically pirate gypsies from everywhere though taking after Himeyaman and Toshikawan migrants(Wokou pirate analogue irl). the Koingia are an ethnic group deriving from anything Kaiop, Slave or native mixed into one, in a loosely similar vein to what mestizo is. Though, alot of these people may just say their 'Coanchuan' now, even ethnically.

24
Basically everyone is approved except the few things i asked to addressed. Basic history atm:

Aulukai Isle was first inhabited by the Ipo natives and a few Maori tribes, forming three primary petty kingdoms and dozens of chiefdoms. In later centuries, piracy became a large issue in the Kyne and Krimeon Seas, perpetuated by the same group of people known as the Kaiop. These people were a highly mixed ethnic group, and largely influenced by Ipo culture as Aulukai Isle was a mid point between the two lucrative seas. The Kaiop chiefly derived from Orekara, groups of people from Eastern Ardia, from Toshikawa, Himeyaman and Vesian migrants to western Ardia, as the Orekara were outcast ostracized groups from their societies. They resorted to nomadic life and would go on to support piracy, becoming known as the Kaiop. They adapted and assimilated with many other cultures, the Kaiop grew as a centuries long pirate disturbance to beckoning empires, inviting outcast and criminals into their ranks.

Meanwhile Empires had constantly fought over and traded off the Matilda Channel, and Aulukai Isle. The Ardians, Seleucid, Saheristan, and more, would range in control over the Channels. Seleucid would finally hold ultimate dominion over the Matilda Channels and Andean Peninsula in the end, using the area as a central slave trading outpost. Aulukai Isle itself became impoverished with slaves and normal Kaiopi people, like families of women and children, would make up an increasingly large demographic in the Matilda Channel. A slave rebellion, led by the Kaiop Pirates themselves would spark years on unrest and war with Seleucid in the 19th century, with the crumbling of their empire. Slaves became pirates, pirates became revolutionaries, and all the Kaiop, natives and slaves rebelled. By the Great War, the mixed Kaiop people of Coanchua, as former slaves and ostracized people from all over, would launch a long and destabilizing guerilla war on land and at sea.

With the aid of Sutherland, Achkaerin and Balticum Coanchua was officially free of direct Imperial War and went on to contribute elite troops in the Great War, gaining their own unique notoriety as fierce warriors, specifically Kaiop Marines and Pilots contributed greatly in the Mhorish Sea Campaign against the Ardian Empire. However Coanchua didn't have a sufficient government, on the hinges of civil war between differing ideological sides, one supported by Rodina and others the anti-Ardian coalition, the Marigold Accord was formed to govern the Matilda Channels as a neutral, puppet bystander. The people of Coanchua, felt betrayed and the Koingia people(mix of Kaiop, slave and native now the majority of Coanchuans, ethnic not racial group) lashed out against the latin Ardian displaced migrants in the country, incurring further penalties from the Marigold Accord. The people of Coanchua would feel oppressed and yet again ostracized by the world, simmering in hate as a monarchy was imposed on them in 1978.

The Marigold Accord was further justified by increasing piracy in the region, a call back to the anarchist days of the Kaiop pirates. Now, the country is a powderkeg, with a recent earthquake and tsunami destroying alot of the countries' infrastructure, rebels are gaining ground and violence is on the rise. People are calling for death to the monarchy, and death the Marigold Accord...

Country full Name: Coanchua, it was more like a loose autonomy under a collectively employed governorship, later a monarchy. 'Kaiop' would be the umbrella term used to denote those from what is modern day Coanchua.
Reason for partaking in the Mhorish Sea Campaign: When the Kaiop people were liberated from Seleucid, the Ardian Empire attempted several naval blitz to take control of the Matilda Channels. With naval support from Achkaerin the Ardians were held at bay, however the Krimeon Sea was still hotly contested and Ardian advances along the Horn gave them precedent control over most of the southern Krimeon Sea. Kaiopi people, men and women, would fight across Ardia and other theater's, becoming known as fierce voluunteers, taken up and recruited by the anti-Ardian powers and deployed as elite troops. The extensive air war over the Matilda Channel also recruited local airforces, provided material for self-sufficient production by the rising powers that took the Kaiopi under their wings. The fierce marines and underdog pilots gained a reputation and were, by 1940, the most immediately deployable troops to Nurashima. The Kaiop fought under any banner, traded off between forces, but working independently.
Assets available: perhaps around 10,000  Kaiopi marines and a small squadron of pilots flying the Coanchuan made Yecashi 'Tigershark', these aircraft were mostly supplementary but the Coanchuans ended up keeping them throughout the war, they may have took on foreign fighters late in the Mhorish Campaign. Overall though, Kaiop troops took what they given and made it work, having a mix if armaments collected from allies and enemies.
More Details/Ideas: maybe, i'm willing to work with anything

The old veteran could feel both of their excitement, surely romanticizing the days of the war and their victors legendary deeds. It come to no surprise to Zara that there were no records of the Flying Jerobah's. "I had fled from Kaitaine and learned how to fly in UC, where I met Muire, I assume her Chapterhouse was there. We learned to fly completely on our own volition, the order was so dissolved back then that we pursued our own means of contribution. Muire was hardly a good infantrywoman, i was, but flying was a fascination of mine. Most of the Truthsayers who became pilots did so to contribute in their own way as combat pilots. They had all found a way to get in the cockpit, we were all determined no matter what tradition told us."

"So it doesn't surprise me that there's no record of us, if anything we were renegade, you could say at the time we were very much separated rebels, the oddballs." she chuckled, pausing to continue reminiscing. "It was very hush-hush when we organized to meet up in Ahkabnil, we thought we were best and sought the most active air theater so far in the war. Plus we had heard Ahkabnil was taking any pilots, no matter of religion, race, gender and so on. It was the perfect window of opportunity for all ten of us at the time. Later down the road there would be fifteen more of us that would join up in Ahkabnil. In total, 25 Truthsayers flew in Ahkabnil."

"Only- only 5 would make it in the end." she somberly sighed, pausing for a while. "Two wounded greatly and dying after the war, Muire was thought to be dead so I guess that makes six that survived the initial war. I know there are two more of us out there, but we all went to hiding after. It stuck, and our relevance faded into obscurity throughout history. We were part of the 16th and 17th Pursuit Squadrons, that's the only record of us, all it may me is loss to kill ratios, but we were one of the best, that believe it or not, paid the cheapest price. Coming to this theater of war frightened me deeply, as entire flights would go down the matter of days. New faces were common, and then they soon left, never to be seen on base again."

Zara continued on with Muire's story however, "Muire was a good pilot. In fact that's an understatement, she was an ace and immortal, the priest and monks on the base hailed her for defying death so much and bringing it to the Ardians in the skies. They even painted these eerie skulls on her plane, calling her the 'Mother of Death' -- even as far to call her 'Little Ya'en', their malevolent god or something here. I'm not sure on the exact number, but it was around 250 victories, most against other fighters, and were the Ardians fierce in the sky."

"Um... I'm not sure how much i got down, not sure if i kept count." the war had affected Zara the most negatively of the bunch, most for her experience when she was shot down over Chanal. "I was downed over Chanal and parachuted into the city, was picked up before drowning in one of the canals by friendly troops, they were Himeyamans actually. That pistol i left behind, was given to me to Muire and protected me throughout my six months down there." she paused, trying to repress what memories she had in Chanal. She had seen enough death and destruction up close to last her a lifetime. Truth was, after Chanal she was removed from the squadron when recovered due to psychological problems. The dreams didn't come back until recently, when she heard of Muire's death. After she left the Horn theater, she attended the air war in the Matilda Channels.

"I can answer anything specific you need." she continued.

Zara's eyes lit up, she hadn't seen such a knife in decades and immediately, flashes of the war came back to her. Her expression of recognition was apparent and at this old age, she hardly cared, not when her friend had just died in such as way. "You arrived just in time for the mourning walk." she answered. "We'll arrive at the burial site where she'll be lowered into the ground. I've seen enough funerals in this country to know." she stared at Blair with a jovial grin. "That is no ordinary knife, and you two know it." she said, pulling them aside before the walk would begin. "I am Zara, and I flew with Muire during the Imperial Great War in this forsaken country. Though she loved it here after the war." she paused, catching herself going on about old memories.

The walk had begun and Zara guided to two along, the sorrowful music, indicated by the dissonant wooden flutes and drum, brought back too many memories for the old veteran. She held her tongue quietly until the rite was over. The center crowd, walking along the path, carried Muire's body, wrapped in thick cotton that was painted over in various reds, greens and yellows. On her chest were several coins and an Ahkabnilian paper standards, as well as kernels of corn and a few raw beans. An elaborate bundle of leaves and flowers held her up above everyone's heads. Her body was completely concealed for various reasons.

A priest walked along with them, chanting various sayings over and over. "Twelcha'e'echtuy Kamal"

Finally, they arrived, and the body was slowly lowered into the ground. Many tossed flowers and food in there once the body settled, those who seemed more close to her lended gifts, which was only Zara at that point. There, she placed an old war-era pistol in the grave, kneeling with a painful cringe to do so. She spoke the few words of Ahkabnilian tongue she knew. "Uluy A'aanche sister, for your journey with Yaotenmel."

The priestly monk then began an accord of singing, with the dissonant flute and drums playing closely behind. Most of everyone joined in, but Zara walked away, with tears in her eyes. Soon after she asked Blair and Maisie to join her for coffee at a local cafe. "If i am remembering the neighborhood correctly, it should still be here." she said, soon finding an old, rundown restaurant. It wasn't busy at this time so there were plenty of seats available. If she remembered correctly restaurants demanded a fee be paid at the door to take a seat, Zara didn't mind, she paid for all three as Ahkabnilian food was worth it in her eyes. "We could have stayed for the feast afterword, but this may be a bit more private. And the food is better."

"So you're truthsayer girls?" Zara blatantly asked. "Oh don't worry, no one here cares or understands here."

Ahkabnil, Muire's Death Rite

The ritual would take place outside under the natural shade of a few trees and a canopy, the day was rather mild so perfect for most. Even a few storm clouds came in from the sea, breaking between the sun. There was a surprisingly numerous amount of people at what Ahkabnilians call a 'Death Rite'-- many of them had not know Muire was even alive. Most were women, former co-workers of Muire in the war, each lavishly wore their old leather flight jackets, however their old age kept their overall demeanor low and humble. One woman, by the name of Zara, had flown all the way from her home country, mustering the money for the intrusive tourist tax. She had spotted the two young women enter the grounds, perhaps the youngest and most fresh among the dreary crowd. Zara didn't know most of these people and the other pilots of Jerobah Squadron had either passed away or weren't able to come.

"And you two are?" she asked, approaching both Blair and Maise. "May i say, there is something familiar about your two. Did you know Muire?"

Country full Name: Holy Empire of Achkaerin

Role Played in Coanchua's History: Having fought the Ardian's in the Great War - given Gowu's position it was important to keep the supply lines open and contain the Ardian naval threat as much as possible leading to a decisive battle in 1937 where the Ardian's flagship was sunk, this combined with Sutherland success two years earlier in the Channel Campaign effectively ended the Ardian threat on the seas, allowing more forceful advances on land. Considering the importance of the trade route through the channels Achkaerin would obviously be interested in ensuring the continuation of that trade route especially with the rise of the USR bloc during the cold war years.

Modern Stance: With the USR having since fallen (though now resurgent) Achkaerin would view Marigold as a less critical treaty than it originally was, and would probably favor independence for Conchua though obviously preferred through peaceful means not an armed rebellion. Chances are Achkaerin would look for a renegotiated Marigold but accounting for a self determined Conchua potentially up to and including helping the Conchuan's develop a sustainable system.

More Details/Ideas: Quick point but Great war runs 1913-1945 as Sutherland's rebellion is the trigger - unless the rebellion is in December in which case 1914 is fine.

Now just a thought (and I don't know how much mileage there is in this) but given the timing of 1976 as Cold War era and with instability in Conchua I would like to suggest that we perhaps factor the likely fear among some nations that Conchua could become an outpost of the USR bloc, I know it may not be ideological come 2017 but in the 1970's that could be a potential reason to drive the Marigold talks into existence (this may be preferable to the genocide as a trigger but I don't know how critical that is).

On the subject of Marigold I'm also happy to suggest that Achkaerin played a major role in drafting the Accord and the actual talks and if you're up for it Gad I'm happy to offer up an Achkaerinese noble to be the present Head of State (albeit a somewhat powerless one due to the corrupt government) though if that's pursued I'd like to avoid a King/Queen title and would suggest a Duke or Duchess given that this was an installed position I doubt they'd be equal to other heads of state or that other nations would go that far, but this is just me thinking out loud.
I like this explanation better than the genocide, it could also be that there was a growing piracy issue in reaction to occupation.

Country full Name: Ecclesiastical State

Role Played in Coanchua's History: ES entered the anti-Ardia side at the beginning of the Great War after the Pope sent a military force to aid the Sutherian revolutionaries against their colonial opressor the Ardian Empire, in one of the last and pivotal battles in 1913, (assuming) one year before the official start of the Great War. Throughout this bloody era, ES had to send military support due to the nation's values which included the need for christian unity, even more when it came to fellow catholic nations. Considering the importance of the trade route through the channels ES would obviously be interested in ensuring the continuation of that trade route as well, especially with the rise of the USR bloc during the cold war years. As of now, one of the anti-Ardian allies, Vaguzia, would have allowed for the ES navy, marines, air force etc. to make stop-overs in their former colonial island San Esperito, thus securing a possible spot for refueling and replenishing.

Modern Stance: ES had developed a neutral stance towards the Marigold treaty, considering the fact that it would being that region more stability and order if it wouldn't act in favor towards any of the two Cold-war blocks, although similarly to Achkaerin's stance, realise more than ever that independence for Conchua is more than inevitable and should be pursued although obviously preferred through peaceful means, not an armed rebellion, perhaps a re-negotiation of that treaty if possible.

More Details/Ideas: I would also like to make the suggestion that ES was part of the nations who drafted the Marigold Accords, unless of course you prefer just one nation which would more than likely be Achkaerin. Perhaps a papal visit during the cold war would have been part of calming things down in that region, as well as a modern one?

I'll make an app for Balticum once Saheri. done his first!

Not sure what the pope coming to Coanchua would have done, i'm not planning on it being christian or any rl religion at the moment. Otherwise seems fine, just make sure to work with others to compensate for your distance but seems you have that. Talk with Ach too and anyone else involved in the Accord.

Country full Name: Kingdom of Greater and Lesser Foxtrove
Role Played in Coanchua's History: During the Great War, Foxtrove played a backseat role during the early and mid war stages however, when it became clear that the Ardian Empire was going to lose in Coanchua, Foxtrove began to support the rebels fighting them. This was through weapons and ammo for the rebels, although they mainly gave it to ultra-nationalist and/or fascist groups. After the war concluded, the kingdom became pro-Marigold.

Modern Stance: Foxtrove remains "pro"-Marigold although they would rather control the channel themselves or at the very least a puppet-state.

The light support thing is fine until we reach Foxtrove wanting control of the Channels, that doesn't make such sense considering you're most southern country from them. Work with the Marigold alliance to lend support, talk to Ach and others OOCly.

The further away you are from the Channels, the more I implore you work with other countries and go through closer neighbors to support your agenda or a side. In other words, follow Saheristan, Iwi, RS, and anyone else in close proximity to the Channel who wants to be involved.

Note everyone: these apps are not set, be flexible to co-op with others. I will ultimately take my closest neighbors input over anyone else's. But everyone's app is noted :)

Also, we're on a globe. Not everyone will be concerned with this. You can have interest by default if you're in the Krimoen or Kyne, but historical connections make more sense. Not everyone would be involved just for stability. Do the Channels make a vital impact on your nation? And why? First thing you should think of is geography, then get creative. If not, then get very creative. Example: Lodja won't care because they ship stuff the other way.
