Herrenbucht contacting New Colovia
« on: February 08, 2018, 04:52:08 PM »

HERRENBUCHT: MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

To whoever this may concern,

As our monarch has realized that our countries are not only geographically close, but also have shared interests and similiarities in our culture, we would like to initiate diplomatic relations with New Colovia. We therefore invite you to send a delegation that may establish an embassy in our capital.

We would like to discuss a possible cooperation between our nations, in economic as well as in military affairs, as we think that your nation would be a valuable and fitting partner.
Specific measures can be discussed in person.
Yours sincerely,

Siegismund von Thaller, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Most Humble Servant of His Majesty, Duke Philipp V

Dear Mr. Von Thaller. What you speak of is true, and I can tell you that we are very delighted to have recieved this proposition of yours. I have read up on the history of your nation before and I must say I agree. Our countries are both former colonies that fought to get were we are today.

I have been granted permission to send both an ambassador aswell as accompaning staff to set up an embassy in Wateringas. Expect them to arrive in 3 days.

May God bless,
Karith Ilver, minister of foreign affairs for the Republic of New Colovia.

The entourage from New Colovia soon departed, flying on a jet bound for the capital of Herrenbucht. The ride was not long as the two countries were indeed quite close to eachother. The plane arrived at the airport and got clearance to land, and out from the plane stepped at first a very well dressed man. His hair was a light brown with a few grey hairs here and there and his eyes were blue. The suit he was wearing looked very expensive and it was clear he had spared no expense on his appearance.

The man, presumably the Ambassador that New Colovia had sent waited for the Herrenbucht officals to arrive to pick him and his two bodyguards up to take them through the capital and to Mr. Von Thaller or whoever represented him.

The ambassador was escorted to the office building of the foreign ministry, where he was welcomed by Lord Minister Siegismund von Thaller together with a Ducal Guard Bataillon and a military band. Both anthems were played and as part of the ambassador's inaugaration ceremony gun salutes were given.

After the ceremonial part of the inaugaration, von Thaller and the ambassador entered the Minister's office. Von Thaller started talking:

I'm really glad that New Colovia was able to send a representative so quickly. Herrenbucht and her Duke are eager to have friendly relations with New Colovia. We would even consider a military cooperation as we already stated in our letter, however to start this cooperation we need something that can have a big effect on the public, something that can show how well our nations can work together. You have to understand that the citizens of Herrenbucht are proud, independent and sometimes even a bit stubborn, so big diplomatic ventures always take an effort to be convincing for our people.

He walked in and shook Von Thallers hand introducing himself. "My name is Vassir Drasov and I'm quite glad that you invited us and to have recieved a warm welcome Mr.Von Thaller" he continued "Of course, New Colovia as well as I understand the situation" he thought for a second before opening his mouth again. "If our nations are to have a military cooperation, perhaps some sort of military parade or event would suit that purpose well. Colovians are quite similar in some ways to that."

"And maybe have some sort of speech before the parade. Our nations do have similarities and I'm sure there are ways we can highlight the benefits of a cooperation in many ways." The Ambassador waited to listen to Von Taller's opinion on the subject. He looked a bit nervous as he waited, shifting around, tidying up his suit but despite of this he still had a slight air of confidence around him.

"I'd prefer having wargames together, since we will already have a military parade in Herrenbucht really soon. Of course we would be happy to welcome one of your battaillons as well.
Now that we have come to an agreement we should define our future alliance more specifically. The most diplomatic offer would be a simple defensive pact, but my Sovereign asked me to find out if New Colovia would be ready to sign a treaty that would guarantee help in agressive wars as well..." The Minister seemed to get a little nervous, fearing that he might not be able to fulfill the task that he was given. "I know this might seem a bit keen, but my Sovereign wants to be sure that all of his 'ambitions' are backed.

He pondered for a second. Weighing his options slightly before smiling and giving a nod. "Wargames is something that New Colovia can happily accept and agree to." He then continued pondering, clearly trying to consider the knowledge he had of any sort of internal problems that had happened in the country or that could arise. "Is there a reason for Herrenbucht to wish to have New Colovia join in agressive wars? If so I would very much like to know."

He straightened his back and looked around the room before turning back to the Von Thaller who clearly looked nervous. "I would very much like to know of these ambitions before signing anything if that is possible. However I do think this is something New Colovia can agree to. But I want to make sure we are going to gain something and not just throw our young men at the ambition of some other country."

"No offense meant of course" he added quickly.
