While Ri Chŏng-jun stated that Kusan would turn a Clysperi vessel into a submarine it is a Kusanese corvette which has instead joined the Kusanese submersible fleet, the KPN Amnok, at the hands of the Royal Clysperi Navy.
The Royal Clysperi Navy issued its first report to the Kingdom on the attacks launched by the DPRK against Clysperi and Rokkenjiman naval assets in the Matilda Channels. "Despite Rokkenjiman reports on the matter already being released the Kusanese People's Navy first directed its ire against Clysperi humanitarian aid operations to the People of Kalasin, launching an attack against RCN Horus. Without our prompting the Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy acted to interdict the attack, drawing further Kusanese actions against their vessels which saw hundreds of Kusanese drones racing for our vessels. In the midst of this attack the Royal Clysperi Navy confirmed a kill on a Kusanese corvette, the KPN Amnok, which suffered repeated fire from Clysperi forces before finally succumbing to the damage of those strikes as she slipped beneath the waves," Intef, General of Armies stated to the CSMC. The sinking of the Amnok during Clysperis' defensive operations has, thus far, precluded further retaliatory measures from being pursued by Pharaoh Akasha Di-‘nh-mi-Re.
"I congratulate the Kusanese on the recent acquisition of a new submarine in their fleet, the KPN Amnok, which I am certain will serve them well. The Kingdom of Clysperis did not expect the extension of Rokkenjiman defences to our humanitarian mission, but we recognize their actions and share our gratitude nonetheless. The Kingdom will be re-evaluating policies toward the First Empire in recognition of this and, perhaps, we may see new avenues for cooperation open between our nations as it was not the mandate nor responsibility of the First Empire to respond as it did in the face of this aggression. In short, it is a welcome surprise and while Kusan lashed out to the best of their ability, at least I feel, we showed them the limitations of their aggression. As such, so long as no further Kusanese actions threaten our forces in the region, I see no need to retaliate any further. We removed one of their most modern vessels from operations while the Horus and her fleet stay afloat; that is a victory enough in itself," the Pharaoh said on the matter.
"This first exchange, and the losses for the Kusanese which have resulted, should be enough of a response I feel," she continued. "I do not feel after the loss of the Amnok that they will try their luck forward and, if they should, we've proven that we possess the tools to not only defend our vessels, but to send theirs to the depths below, and that is a victory for our forces I will not push. Make no mistake if Ri Chŏng-jun should act foolishly again we will punish him again, however, we will not be agents to escalation in this scenario. He's the same results before him that I do; if he should wish to tempt fate again, that decision will be made on his terms and we will deliver the required resolution in response."
