The Amonite Empire of Kishon

Head of State: Emperor Levi ben-Amon
Head of Government: President Aharon Attal
Legislative Body: Amonite Parliament
State Religion: Karaite Judaism
Capital City: Allir

Historical Background
In the year 586 BC, a group of Jewish soldiers, led by their general Amon, agreed to accompany a caravan of refugees from Vanora. After a dispute whose details have been lost to history, the band and caravan split ways, and the followers of Amon crossed the desert of Waddan and found lush valleys. The band settled in one such valley, naming it and the river that flowed through it after one of the rivers in their homeland, Kishon. Over the centuries, the band expanded their reach, subjugating local tribe after the local tribe, militarizing their tribe to such an extent that without their subjugated tribes to plunder resources from they would collapse.
They promptly collapsed when the subjugated tribes rebelled, and the Amonites were forced to reconcile with them. The Amonites adopted many tenants of the local's culture into their own, and high-ranking members of the Amonites inter-married into local nobility. Over the centuries and millennia, the Amonites adopted many elements of local tribal culture, so much so that their modern culture can be considered a hybrid. Their faith also diverged, with recognition of the written Tanakh alone as the supreme authority in religious law and theology, with the role of rabbis being not to reassess and adapt the rules of the covenant, but to interpret their literal meaning. Despite this, the people martial tradition remained unchanged, with most men expected to serve in the military.

The Amonite Political System

The Amonite political system is, in theory, a representative democracy with a figurehead monarch. It is based on the legal myth that the monarch, though the ruler of the nation by the divine grace of God, has no desire to actually rule his Empire, and has as such delegated responsibility to the President, directly appointed by him, the Prime Minister, ministers of cabinet and the Amonite Parliament.

Members of the electorate vote for a party through FPTP, with victorious parties gaining a seat in the Parliament. The electorate is restricted to serving and former members of the state military, with service being compulsory from age 21 to 24 for all Amonite males. The Amonite Parliament is required to pass legislation, with a majority vote required. Elections must be called at least every 7 years, with the last election being held in 2018.

The Prime Minister is head of the Amonite Parliament and is a member of it. They are required to preside over debates in the Parliament and to direct the aims of the Parliamentary government. They are appointed by the Parliament and in turn appoint cabinet ministers, who form the Parliamentary government and run the various departments that run the various sectors of the country.

The President is elected by popular vote every 7 years, with their confirmation requiring a majority vote by the Parliament, who can also out them with a super-majority vote. The President is responsible for maintaining the order of law in the nation, they alone: can declare war and make peace, can declare a national crisis, can dissolve the Parliament and call new emergency elections (once every 8 months), can sign treaties with foreign powers and are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The President may also sign Presidential Decrees into law, but these can be overturned by a 1/3rd minority vote. The President is not allowed to hold a Parliamentary seat but can be a member of a political party. The President is expected to work closely alongside the Prime Minister in the government of the country.

The Emperor remains relatively powerless, though he has the power to hold diplomatic events, he may not sign treaties or go against the will of the government. The title of King is hereditary, currently moving through the "ben Amon" dynasty, a family that rose to power in 1862, and then regained power in 1974 after the fall of the DPRK, and claims a (dubious) descent from Amon.

In practice, however, the nation has been in a dictatorship since 2019, with President Aharon Attal having declared an indefinite national emergency and then revoking the voting rights of Parliament. This in itself would not be illegal but would require a super-majority vote from Parliament to extend it beyond a 6-month period. Attal illegally extended the emergency period indefinitely, and with the support of the army began to arrest political opponents and down protests against what if effectively a self-coup. The party Attal leads, the Amonite Social Party of Resurrection, supports the dictatorship, as do the two parties who additionally previously were members of the Parliamentary government.

Amonite Parliament
Head of Parliament: Prime Minister Hamid ben Igen
360 seats
Amonite Social Party of Resurrection (Front for Jewish Liberation)
Party Head: President Aharon Attal
Ideology: Secular Jewish Nationalism
The Amonite Social Party of Resurrection (known colloquially as the T'chiyah Party) was founded in 1976, two years after the fall of the DPRK by disaffected Amonite nationalists. They felt that the Jewish people had once been a dominating and controlling power in the world, but after their division by their enemies had become weak and easily subjugated. They believed that a unified Pan-Jewish nation-state was needed to rectify this and help reclaim their rightful place as world superpowers. The party failed to gain much traction till the 1990 elections, when it's charismatic leader David Attal was arrested but later realeased for a supposed coup attempt. The T'chiya Party gained alot of media attention, and rode it to 51 seats in the subsequent election. The party formed a coalition government in 1997 with 80 seats (allied then with the ANP and now-defunct Social Conservative Party), however fell to 55 seats in the 2004 elections after Attal died in 2002. The ANP which became the biggest party decline to invite the T'chiya party into their coalition, leaving them an opposition party with Attal's son Aharon in charge of the party. The party had a stroke of luck in the 2018 elections, when in 2017 the Shapiro scandal broke, propelling them into 115 seat lead, almost double their previous size.

Amonite National Party
Party Head: Tom Ronen
Ideology: Moderate Conservatism
Coalition: Forwards Coalition
The ANP is the oldest party in Kishon, being founded in 1794, surviving both the Amonite Seizure, the DPRK and the Second Imperial Restoration. In times when it was banned, it went underground, always surviving. After the fall of the DPRK, it emerged as one of the dominant parties, and whilst not always leading a government, it would often act as kingmaker for the other parties. However, in 2017 the Shapiro scandal broke, revealing that a cohort of cabinet ministers had been embezzeling state funds in order to fund a lifestyle of drugs, whores and opulence. Whilst the President and Prime Minister did not themselves take part, they had been aware of the embezzeling but had failed to stop it. They and their coalition rapidly lost votes, despite the resignation of many, including President Shapiro, from both government and party roles.

Progress!
Party Head: Xavier Frenkel
Ideology: Liberal Republicanism
Coalition: Forwards Coalition
Founded in 2003, Progress! was founded as a populist, anti-corruption youth movement that has campaigned since for an end to the monarchy, national service and deep-rooted government corruption. They enjoyed immense success, particuarly among young voters, and in 2005 absorbed the Social Democratic Party, boosting them to being included in successive governments, where they managed to push through several judicial, voting and economic reforms. However, despite not having any members implicated in the Shapiro scandal, they inevitably took flack for being in the same coalition, and soon after left, leading to the ANP attempting to ally with T'chiya, but failing, causing them to rule for 2 months as a minority government. However, once Attal announced an emergency and failed to gain legal legitimacy in extending it, Progress! rejoined the ANP in opposing him.

National Unity Party
Party Head: David Khan
Ideology: Far-Right Populism
Coalition: Front for Jewish Liberation
Founded in 1990, the NUP is a mass big-tent party for far-right-wing figures. The party remains strong in several core areas and demographics, however struggles to grow much beyond that. Their leader, David Khan, has been credited with this. He is a common figure of mockery among the press, with his weight, surliness and sheer lack of charisma commonly features of the mockery.

Popular Front of Kishon
Party Head:
Ideology: Left-Communism

The Return
Party Head:
Ideology: Amonite Zionism
Coalition: Front for Jewish Liberation

Kishon Popular Front
Party Head:
Ideology: Marxism-Leninism with Amonite Characteristics
Independents
5 Seats
Party Head: N/A
Ideology: N/A

Interest Groups in Kishon

TBC

=The Regime
-The Party Elite
Prominent figures: President Aharon Attal, Prime Minister Hamid ben Igen, Minister of Security Isaac Attal, Party Chancellor Daniel Attal
Ideology: T'chiyahism
Status: In power
Description: The T'chiyah Party elite currently runs the Inland Empire through the T'chiyah Party itself. The head of the Party, Attal, is also the President of the Empire and rules it as a dictator. They dominate the Party and command the loyalty of all wings of the Party, dissenting views are barely tolerated and rarely voiced around any of the elite. They hold respect for T'chiyahism, and several are ideologically committed. Many however just use the power given to them for their own personal benefit, with their service to the cause being motivated by personal greed rather than ideology.
Goals (in descending order): The maintenance of power, the destruction of political enemies, the amassing of personal wealth, the exporting of T'chiyahism to other countries, the expansion of Amonite borders.
-The KFP
Prominent figures: KFP State-Leader Bashar Hussein, KFP Under-State-Leader Yair Chomsky, KFP Under-State-Leader Noah Netanyahu
Ideology: Z-T'chiyahism
Status: Subordinate
Description: A technically illegal organization, (due to its nature as an arm of the state that requires T'chiyah Party membership to be a member) the KFP was formed as secret police to route out political opposition to Attal's regime in the public and government. They have been gradually gaining more and more influence in the state and Party, though remain loyal to the Party's leadership. Hussein's strong friendship with Attal's father has kept him loyal and respectful of Attal's current leadership. There is a slight dissenting opinion on the direction T'chiyahism should travel, with the opinion of the KFP being that the state should encourage Jewish immigration rather than try to expand its borders over all Jews.
Goals (in descending order): Gaining more influence within the state and Party, maintenance of the power of the Party and State, destruction of political enemies, the amassing of personal wealth.
-The Party-Left
Prominent Figures: Minister for Health Faisal Cohen, Minister for Labour Sami Cohen, Minister for Agriculture Malik Cohen
Ideology: L-T'chiyahism
Status: Subordinate
Description: The Party-Left of the T'chiyah Party is led and mainly exerts influence through the Cohen family, a trio of siblings whose father's status as a founding member of the T'chiyah Party ensured their powerful positions within the state. The Party-Left has avoided conflict with the Party leadership over how the Party should move forwards, still being loyal to Attal and trying to convince him of their view, rather than focusing on extending their influence within the membership. The Party-Left believes that the state should directly manage large sections of the economy, rather than work alongside business in a corporatist manner.
Goals (in descending order): Gaining more influence within the state and Party, the amassing of personal wealth.
-The Party-Right
Prominent Figures: OH State-Leader Oman Nimri, Minister for Faith Relations Omar Yosef, Deputy President Matthew Efron
Ideology: R-T'chiyahism
Status: Subordinate
Description: The Party-Right of the T'chiyah Party is in many ways similar to the Party-Left. They have avoided conflict with the Party leadership over how the Party should move forwards, still being loyal to Attal and trying to convince him of their view, rather than focusing on extending their influence within the membership. They advocate a laissez-faire economic model, rolling back the economic (not political) boundaries of the state.
Goals (in descending order): Gaining more influence within the state and Party, the amassing of personal wealth.
-The Amonite Military
Prominent Figures: Marshal Sharon, Field-General Levanoni, Field-General Nassar, Minister of Military Policies Enoch Saʽid
Ideology: Military Interests
Status: Subordinate
Description: The Amonite Military is supportive of the regime, but very few high-up members of the military are dedicated ideologues. Their support and enabling of the regime are based on the prospects of enhancing the military's power, their own power, and their own personal riches. So far the Regime has satisfied the military, passing budget increases for the air and ground force.
Goals (in descending order): Enhancing their own power, enhancing the power of the military, enhancing their own wealth.
